  Hello

  I can't get any sound when entry using my Duo 2 2.

  If I put entries for 1 and 2 identical... say Inst... then I can hear the sound through my headset wheh using entry 1.

  I have no sound using entry 2. The meter shows the sounds (on the duo) but they don't come through the headphones and they are not registered in the logic.

  If I change the MIC for both... once again, input 1 is fine, but 2 entry appears on the counter on the duo.

  I tried another USB cable, but there is no difference. I have only 1 extension cable to try.

  Any ideas?

• Satellite C660 - no sound headphones but through speakers - Win7

  I know that many people here have the same problem, but so far I have found no solution.
  My sound card is a Realtek. After you have reinstalled Windows 7 I have no sound on my headset so that I have some of my speakers.

  As soon as I connect the headphones, the Realtek Manager appears and I choose headphones but if I press the 'Test' button there is no sound and no sound if I play music.
  Any des/re-reinstalling drivers does not fix.

  I should mention that my headset works perfectly with Ubuntu. The input jack is good.
  In "Playback devices" icon of sound control, the entry "Speakers" "puts in default" in gray.

  Go to the dashboard-> Realtek HD audio manager

  Here, you should see the speakers on the tab. Click on the yellow folder in the upper right.
  Ensure that the option disable front jack detection is NOT checked.
  Also check out the option down called enable auto popup dialogue box

  By the way: in the control panel-> sound-> reading tab right click and mark both options see the disabled devices, show hidden devices
  Now, you should also see the headset plug. In case it has been disabled, you could make it active.

  But when I plug my headphones, there are problems

  recently, I bought a new headset, and it seems that windows won't play sounds only in the helmet as long as the speakers are turned on.

  in other words, music plays in the two headphones and speakers and not just in the headphones i unless:
  Unplug the speakers
  Turn them off
  disable them with a ridiculous amount of clicks. funny, is that I always forget how I did the last time >.

  So what I want to do, is make headphones have priority on the speakers without turn it off or unplugged.

  I also can't use the connectors on the front panel for a reason even if they appear in the ' Manager high definition realtek audio.

  Method 1:

  I suggest to go to sound settings and turn off the speaker device for the only sound from the earpiece. To do so follow the steps below.

  1. click on Start

  2. go to Control Panel then hardware and audio.

  3. click on sound, it will open a window with all audio devices it contained therein.

  4 turn off the speaker by right-clicking on the " speaker " icon and select disable .

  Method 2:

  To make the helmet of your default audio device, follow the procedure below.

  1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.
  2. click on sound, then a new window will open.
  3. in the new window click on the "Playback" tab and right-click in the window and click disabled devices onShow.
  4. now check if headphone is listed there and right-click on it and choose activate.
  5. highlight this headset and click "set as default".

  It will be useful.

  I have installed renetly windows vista on several of our models D610 and even if sound from speakers works audio the headphone power is not. I have installed/uninstalled the drivers for this card on several occasions have no chance. The only rider listed on the dell site is only a windows XP based pilot.   Try steps below to resolve this issue:

  (a) click Start and select Control Panel.

  (b) in the Control Panel, select hardware and audio.

  (c) click sound, then your devices should come with speakers, Audio Digital and the headphones.

  (d) plug your headphones.

  (e) select headphones.

  (f) at the bottom, it will say set as default. You must select this option.

  (g) then when you disconnect your headset it switches automatically on the speakers and when you plug in back will automatically switch to the headset.

  So I had the same problem today, as I tried to listen to the audio through my Beats Studio V2 Wireless. Once I traced the output of my beats, everything was fine. Good luck, bro!

• M4800 Precision: Input lag with a log in, Switchable graphics does not, fan GPU "chirp" when it starts.

  I recently bought a new M4800 for an i7 quad, and a m5100 over-pants GPU. So far, I was rather satisfied with the purchase as it is what I need it to do. However, there are a few quirks that prevent from being 100%:

  and finally: the computer is dead silent most of the time, even the fans are pretty quiet. However when the GPU kicks fan on after being off for a long time, there is sometimes a noise, I can only describe as "electronic chirping/scraping" until the fan whirrs to life, it affects not at startup, but randomly as you use on battery and plugged. the configuration management thermal "maximum performance" to keep the fan on all the time to a certain extent eliminates noise. Is this normal? or is this a problem?

  My personal experience has been a long and trying a.  First, they sent a technician to replace the graphics card with an another week.  Has not made a difference.  While they had tech replace the motherboard.  No difference.  So, I insisted on a new m4800 with the nVidia processor.  That's how I got mine.  BUT I think that if you pushed, maybe they could send a technician to change your graphics card.  Or at least send you a different model (for which you need of course a different driver), then you could install or take to a repair technician.

  For what it's worth, Dell knows they have a problem with this hardware configuration and told me that they raised the question to their experienced engineers.

• Drive DVD M4800 Precision periodically makes noise (looking)?

  Cracked open a new M4800 and am annoyed by this problem.  I've not timed but it feels like once a minute, the DVD player made a noise that looks to the reader trying to grab a disc (about a drive to slot).  There is no reason that the reader must be regularly grasping for a disc that is not there... is a more serious problem?  Is this normal?  A way to get rid of it (without remove it and throw the disc!)

  Solved!

  At least seems to be to this day.  I ran the customer Dell system update tool and he finds 2 updates that were not listed on the Dell Support site which was a Firmware / BIOS update.  After installing that I no longer have this problem.

  The machine knows some other issues unfortunately (random Win 7 freezes, stalls)... do not know what to blame again (hardware v. software) but we hope these get better.  GRR...

  The Qosmio G15 seems to be the Toshiba U.S. series.
  Go to this page to get all the drivers:

  Download the audio driver. Then uninstall the old audio driver in Device Manager.
  Restart the unit. After that go to Device Manager, mark the sound card (should be the unknown device) and then use the Advanced installation procedure to point to the files of the audio driver (ini files).

  For most applications, including Windows itself, I use my speakers that work out of my sound card in the PC. For my Skype, I use a headset connected to the back of the monitor. This configuration works very well, given that Skype allows to choose the audio output by default se device. Now I want another application (a game, Endwar, to be precise) to use headphones as a default with the rest of the system device as it is on the left. Is there a way to do this?

  It would be only possible if it is supported in the game/program itself or if your sound card driver configuration settings will allow it.  Some sound card drivers will allow you to have two different audio streams or separated for helmets.  So, it really depends on your hardware and the application that you are willing to put in place this way.
