Cut a circle from the center of the image?

Hi all. I am a noob to photoshop but am learning fast. I'll have a little to hurt something I imagine most of you is quite straightforward. Help, please

Basically, I have a square image (3000px x 3000px) and I want to cut an exact circle from the center of the image. So I choose the Ellipitcal selection marquee tool and put my cursor around in the center of the image, hold down the SHIFT and ALT, and then drag to the size of the desired circle. Then I press V to bring up the alignment toolbar hoping I could Center the selection to the exact middle of the image, but I can't. PS won't let me select alignment buttons. Please can someone tell me where I'm wrong?

After that, I want to take the image of CUT and paste as a new picture, while I have just the circle and its content and no rectangular background. I don't know STICKING will do, but I can't get that much.

Help, please

Thanks in advance.

One option:

Elliptical selection tool

Select > transform selection - enter the coordinates of the Center reference point the median point of the canvas.

Make your cut or whatever.

I am appalled by these fields coordinated not allowing a percentage (of a size of canvas) or simple to provide arithmetic expression. This seems like a basic functionality of conviviality that should have been years ago. Am I missing something?

  • Cut the text from the image using the Pathfinder tool

    Hi all

    I'm cutting text from an image in Illustrator. I use the version on a Dell XPS 12 CS6.

    I have scoured the internet for instructions and have tried everything, but when I followed the same steps in Illustrator I don't get my desired result. I created the contours for the text, so that the image and text are on the same layer, grouped (and dissociated) and then I tried all the options in the pathfinder, nothing helps. I've done it before with an image, but for some reason can not get it to work this time.

    I even tried to make the image in a clipping mask, so it would be a 'form' instead of 'image', but that didn't do anything either.

    If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it that I spent hours trying to figure this out!

    Thank you!

    Pathfinder will not work with a path and a picture.

    Instead, put your text above the image (it can be the living text), select both.

    You can then use the button do mask in the transparency to cut your text on the image palette.

    Browser multimedia lla only will show you photos from your photo library, if the library is your system library.  Check in Photos preferences > general, if 'use as a Photo library system' is UO greyedcrossed, as it should be.

    and the application must be fully compatible with El Capitan, or it can only show the iPhoto and Aperture libraries.  You may need to update your copy of inDesign. I don't know, if there is a newer version.

  • Why print preview and print lose lines of text from the image to the screen in the browser

    When I bring up (for example) a magazine article in my browser and you want to print it for future reference, print preview and printed image 'lost' lines of text between pages compared to the original image in the browser. For example: visit this link: http://www.pcauthority.com.au/Feature/408318, how-to-make-windows-admin-easy-with-powershell.aspx?eid=2 & edate = 20150828 & utm_source = 20150828 & utm_medium = newsletter & utm_campaign = weekly_newsletter & nl = weekly and select 'Print' from the menu. Print preview that appears - poster in portrait mode or landscape - loses one or two lines of text for the print version wraps useless. Where the missing text? pagination is not identical, and Firefox seems unable to handle it.

    I use a HP desktop with Intel i7 CPU 8 GB of RAM and Win 7 Pro SP1. Firefox is V40.0.3

    I do not see "imposed by the system of page breaks" encoded in this Web page. It would be difficult for an author of a Web page with an international audience.

    You use A4 paper, but what about those of us using letter-size paper? Page breaks may screw up page print to LETTER, from a Web site to THE like this.
    And what about the 'zoom' different levels? For printing which is called scale preview of Firefox and Page Setup print.
    I put systematically "modest" when printing to save paper, to keep the last page to only a few lines, or when the font size in print preview is too great (IMO) for printing on paper. And the size of police appeared to have worsened as monitor resolutions have gotten larger over the years.

    The only time wherever I lost lines of text between printed pages was when I was "pushing the limits" with the paper up and down / page margins. IOW, too small header / footer trying to get on each page as possible. By default, Firefox a. 5 "margins (left and right) with. 5 "header / footer (top and bottom margins) = letter-size paper. With 'A' type of paper using metric would be tantamount to the margins of 12.7 mm on all four sides. The /metric of inches "toggle" is with the size of the paper, the user has selected.

    Check the Page > margins & header / footer to see if you have the parameters of ~ 12mm or it they are smaller.

  • Get files from the Image of the T3i via USB

    I am currently using an old EOS Digital Rebel with a 18-55mm lens, which I use for photography of product (to the site).  The company is more and more so I take lots of photos, and it's getting heavy to keep the withdrawal of the CF card and load into the PC.  I want to move to a configuration that does not need a card to move between the camera and the PC - or anything with a USB port or wireless.  Any who can verify that the T3i works the way I think - I'll run a USB cable from the camera to the PC and I can get the pictures from your camera easily, such as access to a hard drive?  Or I'm wrong about this?  I need a USB cable which is 10' long or so, that too, I think not is a problem, but it would be good to hear that someone else is using it in this way and it works.

    I'm also looking for a recommendation of the lens, as I'll probably buy the body only instead of getting another 18-55 mm.  I would like something with a little more possibility of zoom (to get a little tighter), and it would be good to have a macro capability.  Any suggestions on a Canon lens?

    Last question - I would like to have a bigger screen connected to the camera, to get a bigger view of what I'm shooting or just being shot while still in the camera.  I can do it with a T3i?

    Thank you

    A T3i will do anything you ask.  BTW, it does not use a CF card; It uses SD cards.

    It will ship with a short USB cable but you can get "powered" USB cable 75 feet long or more.

    You can attach the T3i a laptop with Lightroom.

    Best buy in a Canon lens is EF 24-105mm f4 L.  No lens will Excel in all possible situations. Thus, the beauty of a DSLR like you can taylor the lens to use. But it will come very close.

    Greetings,

    I'm trying to export a photo from Indesign to EPUB children's book, and I'm checking the epub document in iBooks.

    But I find that the text which is supposed to appear on the page, appears after its corresponding image.

    Also, I need to lock the text so that it appears in a fixed location on a page (the image should only be viewed in Landscape Mode).

    How can I do this? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Get the metadata from the images information (CS3, AS, JS)

    I tried using AppleScript and JavaScript to get the photo captions using linkXmp.description.

    This works when the image has been edited in Photoshop, but not when it has just been imported into the page and done nothing for her... The answer is "No metadata information available", a fair enough answer because it don't disagree that the information might be there.

    I got a job AppleScript which goes to Photoshop, opens the picture, gets the information, which is closed without saving changes and returns to InDesign to put an overlay on the image with its legend information. The time delay involved in the image opening is irritating, however.

    I tried initially in AppleScript, and when the offer read in the archives of this forum on the edition vs original problem.

    So, I headed over to the Photoshop Forum where a helpful guy gave me a fragment of AppleScript to get information of legend and a fragment of JavaScript to get the linkXmp.description in InDesign.

    I just finished adapting the JavaScript to work with a selected InDesign page item (learned much in the process). But in the end that I was confronted with the same brick wall I met with AppleScript. If the pic is not changed, no dice.

    My friend Photoshopping was surprised that I did raise my difficulty in the InDesign Forum... which I do now, with apologies to all those who may have read passed me on the road to this topic.

    Yes, there is an InDesign only method to obtain this information from legend?

    In the case that everyone faces in this here is an example that tries to get the legend of the bridge for files that have not given xmp.

    #target indesign
    main(); // Call to the main function
    function main() {
         if (app.documents.length == 0) {
              alert("Please have an 'Indesign' document before running this script.");
              return;
         }
         docRef = app.activeDocument;
         with(docRef) {
              // try reading linkXmp
              var caption = links[0].linkXmp.description;
              if( caption == "" ) getCaptionFromBridge( links[0].filePath );

         }
         return caption;

         function getCaptionFromBridge( fileName ){
               var cap = undefined;
               function myReturnValue(cap){
                    //do what you want with the results
                     cap = cap;
                    caption = cap;
               }
               var bt = new BridgeTalk;
               bt.target = "bridge";
               var myScript = ("var ftn = " + psRemote.toSource() + "; ftn("+fileName.toSource()+");");
               bt.body = myScript;
               bt.onResult = function( inBT ) {myReturnValue(inBT.body); }
               bt.send();
               bt.pump();
              $.sleep( 100 );
              var timeOutAt = ( new Date() ).getTime() + 500;
              var currentTime = ( new Date() ).getTime();
              while ( ( currentTime < timeOutAt ) && ( undefined == cap ) ) {
                   bt.pump();
                   $.sleep( 100 );
                   currentTime = ( new Date() ).getTime();
               }

  • Question about the text from the image

    Hello.

    I saw once a tutorial on how to make the text of an image.

    It was a picture of a beach, and then he cut out the letters in the image to the text.  In this way, the shape of a "T" "BOLD" for example would be a "T" cut out a section of the image of the beach T shaped.  I would like to know how to do this, or what it takes to find this tutorial or a similar tutorial.

  • Creation of a Script of Action to cut individual corners on the images in a document.

    Hi all

    I am a wedding photographer and my album designs involve changing the images to round individual corners according to the flow of the page. Currently, it takes much more time than I like it too and I was looking for a way to contribute to this process take less time.

    I currently use the rectangle tool, change to the size of the image and round up the necessary angles with the properties box, then hide the image with the selection of one.

    Would it not possible to create an action that could automate this process for each design corner that I use? (IE every single corner, the two upper corners, etc.).

    I tried looking everywhere and for the life of me cannot understand it at all.

    Hope it makes sense.

    Kind regards

    Kelsey.

    The solution proposed by JJMAck is probably best suited to your needs, if the creation of album pages.

    However, to answer your direct question - it is possible to create an action that will apply to every angle of an image little matter the size of the image.
    The principle is to save a path in an action that makes a curve at the top left - then invert the whole mask, regardless of the image and repeat the curve at the top left of each time until you get the corners you want.

    For example, to get the curves on the leash across (up and down) record measures include:

    1. Add a layer mask to the layer revealing all

    2. click on the link (between the image and the mask) to untie the mask

    3. draw a path on the left in the form of a curve - once closed and drawn by clicking on the top right of the palette actions and click "insert the path." This will put this path in your action.

    4. click on this way of work in the palette traced, and then on the way to loading as a playlist

    5. click on the mask

    6 change the black fill (which will create a curve in the mask at the top left
    7 edit transform Flip Vertical-(cela sera retourner le masque uniquement, quittant la courbe en haut à gauche en bas à gauche)

    8. click on the way to work in the palette

    9 load path as a selection

    10 click mask

    11 edit black fill (which will create a new curve on the mask to what is now upper left

    12. click on the link to reissue the mask to the image

    Variations on that can be used to update the rounded corners in any of the four corners (although it is always drawn on the mask at the top left) - so be independent of the size of the image.

    I hope that helps

    Result:
