  Another solution is to create a custom question. There is a lot of work, you can use drag - and drop to create it, some actions of the object. Or you can use the dropdown interaction to let the user decide which element to match with. I created corresponding to these questions with the Interactive InfoSemantics drag & drop widget, but is limited to the output SWF.

• 6 button Question of Captivate

  Hello

  I've traveled the community forum to answer this question, so my apologies if I missed along the way...

  I use 6 Captivate and using smartshapes PREV and NEXT with boxes click above them for navigation of course. On a slide, I have three smartshapes: OUTPUT, REVIEW, TRY IT. OUTPUT and TRY IT buttons work fine. The REVIEW button click box has take the learner to another slide in the presentation (slide 7). For some reason, I can't function properly and it is not supposed that every other button seems to work very well, but when I play in this specific slide, the CONTROL button does not work.

  Any suggestion would be appreciated - I'm sure it is something simple that I'm just missing. Thank you!

  Not only you will save time by having half of the objects, but a form can even be used on a master slide or timed for the rest of the project. But of course, if you later want the timeline, you may need them on every slide.

• Weird question. Captivate 6 do not let me pick a script for a tip Action

  Hi, so I am faced with this very weird problem on a captivate project 6 I built. I have to add an Action in advance on an exit of blade action. This was previously defined as "Continue", and now I want to put this to 'Execute the Action Advanced' (an action script advanced that I just wrote). The thing is that when I change the property on the output of 'Run of advanced Actions', I'm not able to select a script in the menu 'Script '. I have tried everything from:

  • modification of machines and doing so on different computers with 6 Captivate
  • Make copies of the file and try those
  • Closure of Captivate and restart my computer
  • Ensure that the blades are not locked

  but can't seem to understand this. Also oddly, if I try to set the property on the output of let's say slide 67 as "Perform advanced Actions" (when he was already all just 'continue'), all other slides also change to this, sense of ownership on output for all other slides also changed from 'Continue' to 'Perform advanced Actions'.

  I've been stuck with it for the last 6 hours and that you can't fig this out.

  Your question sounds suspiciously like a corrupted project.  Did you do a lot of copy and paste to duplicate slides maybe?

  If kill the Preferences folder does not solve your problem (see Tip #8) then you might want to try to copy your current slides in a very empty new project of the same size. You will lose all current in the process advanced actions (because you're on Cp6) but it turns out something useful to get rid of corruption all in recovery always content.

  I developed in captivate 4 - at the end of my apprenticeship, I inserted a 5 question quiz - but the calculations for the quiz fool you.

• Conversion of 3 or 4 question of Captivate

  Although I am able to convert other files to .cp Version 3 to Version 4, this file will not convert.

  It opens fine in Captivate 3, but when you try to convert to 4, it comes to the point of asking a file name and a location and dips just the ball.

  It's only a few images and transitions.  Any ideas?

  Just converted your file without any problem, is not easy to answer because I can't repro the problem.

  Two questions, although as you are able to convert other files, they should not be relevant: have you installed upgrading on CP4 (help, upgrades)? Are the files on your computer, not on a network drive?

• 2 questions about Captivate 4.0

  I am a new user of Captivate and have a few questions:
  -By importing PowerPoint slides, the entire slide, including all transitions appears as a single action in the timeline, so I can't adjust the timing of the transitions to match the narration added in Captivate. I'm using PowerPoint 2003. Importation of PowerPoint 2007 makes a difference? Are there other techniques or workarounds? The only thing I did is to recreate the entire presentation in Captivate.
  
  -My question to text animation is really more a general problem I'm trying to create a workaround solution for. Here's the question... I need to create a presentation that shows the script of the Narrator when the learner doesn't want to or can't listen to the audio. I am aware of the display of the pages of Notes on the left, but the customer is not really like that. Activation of accessibility is not do because (I believe) the learner will need to change a setting in Windows. So, to get the script to the screen and timed with the chipset and graphics, display I created a scrolling region down. My intention was to use text Animation in time and scroll through the script with the actions of the screen. Two problems occur... 1 animation of text is not word wrap, so I have to type each line as a separate animation - not a huge problem. 2. the text Animation dialog box allows you to locate the animation (left and top), but it doesn't seem to be a way to change or limit the width. Any ideas?

• MultiCam cutting question

  I have a multicam clip on my project schedule with 2 video and 1 audio angle. There should be a shortcut that allows me to slide the clip, then move the video angles without changing the angle of the audio. Option - Shift - 2, according to the editor command, Yes? When I try to do, all I get is a "bong" noise I tried already to rampage of preferences.

  Any ideas? Thank you.

  It works for me when the angle Viewer shows.

  Window-> View Display-> Angles to show (or Cmd-Shift-7), then you can use the Option + shift + -(1, 2 or 3) to cut/switch audio & video, video just or just audio, respectively.

• Can I add subtitles to my multiple choice question in Captivate?

  I have a question multiple choice quiz that plays a sound file when the user selects the correct answer. Because the audio file is defined using a ' success' action, it is not placed on the timeline. Is there a way to add captioning in audio file even when it does not exist in the timeline?

  

  Audio slide can easily turn into CC CC should be synchronized with the audio, and this is not possible in this case since you have no idea "when" the user will submit the answer. Way to go is to create a container of text (legend or form) with the text that you want to appear as CC) and use a tip (or shared if you're on CP7/8) who will play not only audio but also displays the text container.

• Quiz question: why Captivate address most of my slides as quiz questions?  Captivate 5.5

  I have a project that includes two interactive simulations and a short questionnaire in the middle.  The project includes most of my question slides slides, so I am unable to get accurate results.  I can not even the page of results to follow the slides in question, because it deals a much later blade as the "final question".  I looked all around the property, but found nothing.  Can I make a link to the files separate quiz in order to get the questions to calculate correctly?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I use Cp 5.5

  Not only the question slides can be marked but also all the interactive objects (click boxes, buttons, TEB) that you probably have in your simulations.

  Check the advanced Panel (F9) Interaction where you will find a summary of all the marked objects. You will need to delete the partitions and add it to the total (and reports). This can be done in the Panel itself, but it is dynamically linked to the properties pane. If you select an object with a score in the Interaction Panel, its properties will be displayed. Go to the accordion of Reporting.

• Question pool Captivate 5

  Rod mentioned on the use of the question pools to reach wrong what I wanted to achieve, but I can't get to work question pools!

  I have implemented a few issues with the question pool manager using two pools, and then when I went to insert a question in my project, I saw at the bottom of the list types of questions an option saying a link for pool 1, but is grey so I could not use it or I might look for pool 2.

  Is there any manual covering the question pools or help I can get.

  To add a new quiz from a question pool you must go to insert > Quiz Question, check the option for the Question at random, and then select the pool of matter of choice in the drop down menu.

  

  When you have a slide you can just dupicate it (Ctrl + D) to add more and change the Question through the lower pool down in the tab properties of Quiz.

• Slide numbering - questions about Captivate 3

  I am putting together a new CBT I want to enter my PowerPoint slides.

  However, I plan to do several of the slides is available only when you press a 'button' on a particular slide.

  (for example.  Slide 5 there will be 2 buttons, it will lead to slide 28 then return, it will lead to slide 29 then return)

  I'm looking for is the removal of any slide numbering when I publish this project.

  I don't want the Viewer to see that they went from slide 5 to 28 and then back to 5.

  I understand that most people want their slides were soon, but for this project, I'm heading in the other direction.

  As the title suggests, I am using Captivate 3, which unfortunately that power will not pay for the update to Captivate 4.

  If you do not use a playback control, there is never any indication that the user is on different slides. Even if you use a playback control, the only time I am aware that the indication of the number of slide is present is when you place the cursor or drag the progress indicator.

  See slide numbers in another area? If so, can you post a screen shot here? If you do, please insert inline using the camera icon. Do not tie. Attachments must be approved before that everyone can see them.

• Quiz in Captivate 7 questions

  I'm relatively new to Captivate, but very well with other Adobe products.

  I'm working on the quiz questions in Captivate 7, but maybe (hopefully)? I do it all wrong. Described below:

  Need questions dot module, we call them "test your understanding". For now, true/false, multiple choice, etc. Subsequently will include some rollovers, etc..

  Currently I have a multiple choice question. Slide begins with a legend header created with both forms and a text caption with 'Check your understanding.' Would like this group to fly from the left for about 7 seconds. When I preview the slide, half the group is visible, but still unless I hit the game. I thought it should play automatically?

  Second, when the issue is submitted, even if the question is wrong, he advances to the next slide. I need to require a correct answer before moving OR fix and perhaps a whole reason to show why. I can't any of this to work.

  I didn't need your opinion on results slide show at the end, but which is inhibiting the result displayed on the slide itself?

  Hello and welcome to the forum,

  Is it a default question slide or a slide custom issue created using standard objects and advanced actions? If it's as a QCM default being attention do not remove the objects that are normally available on the master slide for that matter, you can make it invisible but deletion (with the exception of a few buttons) could lead to odd results. You use an effect I guess for the Group? Look at the timeline (or better post a screenshot of the timeline): for a default question slide, there is a point of suspension (used by the process in two steps of this question slide: http://blog.lilybiri.com/question-question-slides-in-captivate) and I suspect that this break is interrupting your fly indeed.

  Read the blog post on the behavior of question slides please. And it's a good practice can have the PlayBar available for question slides. Another hunch tells me pressing Play you forced the playhead to go over the top of the suspension point, in the inactive part of the slide, and that's why the head of reading continues after the submission.

• End of words cut in Captivate 5

  That's the problem I have: in Captivate 5, I added audio files to my slides. When I saw the slides individually, or 5 at a time, the sound is perfect. However, when I preview the entire project, the last word on 2 of the slides in the project gets inexplicably cut. Thus, in a slide "class" becomes "cla" and in other slides 'image' becomes 'ima '. I left the room at the end of each of these blades to avoid the words are cut off, but I can't understand why the sound is fine when listening the slide individually, and not when I listen to the slide in the project. Help?

• Captivate 8 audio will interrupt the beginning

  I use 8 Captivate and across multiple slides (especially at the beginning of the presentation) the sound is cut at the beginning once the rate published on the LMS. I deselected the compression options and I added some time before and after the audio clip, but he always gets cut. If the user plays the entirety of the presentation and 'rewind' or he plays again, the sound is fine. Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

  If the 'silence' that you added has been done through the Captivate Audio dialog box then it will be pure silence without no audio at all and will just get cut by Captivate again.  (Weird question plaguing Captivate for all time).  You must ensure that the silence at the beginning or end of an item is NOT pure.  The best thing to do is copy some "dirty silence" of some one break in the Middle same clip and paste that in the beginning or the end of the clip.  Given that this silence is not pure and has at least some audio data at low altitude, Captivate will leave him alone.  That could help the part of your question.

  Another thing is to ensure at least a Virgin without objects or audio slide at the beginning of your project.  NEVER start a project with a slide that must have audio play immediately.  Captivate seems to enjoy a blade full of second, or to put in place BEFORE playback of content.
