• HP 8600 printed oversized, cut text when print ONLY internet/e-mail

  Running windows vista, Firefox, Yahoo mail.  Whenever I have print something on the internet (for example, this page), the police is super big and it cuts the text to the left because it is so big.  I went to my yahoo email account, printed an email and the same thing.  The police are like 30 and it cuts the text on the left.  I printed something from word and excel, and it was beautiful.  Yesterday was fine, today it is not.  I opened e-mails that had links to maps and printed cards, so I think maybe he's changed some printer preferences?  When I go into Control Panel, properties of hp 8600, however, I don't see anything associated with something like 'shrink to fit'. Any suggestions?

  You must implement from the browser. This is for Firefox (very similar under IE and Chrome):

  Right-click on print > select Print Preview

  at the top you can see many options including shrink to fit, also increase/decrease %

• Shape using underlying to cut text

  I am not sure of the terminology for this task, which means that I can't find help for her.  I am new to tasks like this, then I would be grateful for pointers.

  In PS CS6, I have a form of solid color in a background layer, with text it overlying at the forefront.  I want to use the edges of the shape cutting (mask?) text, so that the text inside the shape is a color, but the text that spills the outside shape is a different color.  What I do not know how: the outline of the shape through the text, and I want the color change of these letters to follow the contours of the shape.  I hope it's clear.

  You want a cleaner and smoother selection correct?

  Do not use the magic wand.  It is probably what gives you a rough selection.

  CTRL + click on the thumbnail of the layer (CIRCLED in RED) instead of using the magic wand tool. This should give you a smoother selection.

  

• How to cut text through several objects?

  Here is exactly what I'm doing:

  I have a graph of blue that I superposed horseshoe a purple on Ribbon.  On the Ribbon, I typed 'Celebrating 40 years.' I want to cut this text through the Ribbon AND the Horseshoe in order to make transparent and has the color of the white background without having to actually use white as the color.

  After searching online, I thought that I thought about it. I selected the text and converted to outlines.  I selected it and the part of the text Ribbon was on and is gone to the pathfinder and less before.

  It worked partially. The text essentially cut through a layer and partly taken from the background color white. However, the Ribbon graph has dark purple corners where it folds which still shows the text that sits above it AND the part of the text that was still on the blue Horseshoe now showed through in blue.

  How can I get the text to cut through all this is on top of. I tried to select all, then the text as outlines and the hit before, but this does not work. I'm certainly not a pro Illustrator all the instructions step by step would be much appreciated.

  You can just use black direct Type (no need to describe) on top of all that you want to cut through, and then select all of the items whose Type (celebration of 40 years) and in the Transparnecy palette dialog box click on the opacity mask to do with two Clip and mask Invert unchecked.

  You might also get away with just using white Type, which means no impression, but the reverse is safer, and you can see what you have found.

• Cut text to the offset path

  I'm trying to create a text cutting from a form.

  I want the form to look like an expanded outline of the text, I did in creating the outlines of the text, clicking on offbeat path that created my desired effect.

  I would then like to cut my original text of this way to compensate using the pathfinder tool but it doesn't let me do that.

  Can anyone help? I found this extremely frustrating.

  A simple way, where you can keep Type direct and live effects, is for each artwork to:

  (1) change the magenta to white,

  (2) all parts before if not already, the Group

  (2) select all in the same work of art and in the tick of flyout palette transparency mask opacity do with unchecked Clip and invert the mask ticked.

• Cutting text without contours?

  Is there a way to make a text divided into an object below text (such as the use of Pathfinder in artificial intelligence) w/o converting vectorised text?

  I want to show you step by step:

  1. This is an INDD file with an image in the lower layer

• Newbie needs help, cutting text in a logo overlay

  I'm a video editor working with Production Premium CS5, until CS6 is available in any case. Production Premium includes Illustrator, which I never had the opportunity to use so far.

  Problem is that customer wants to build a bug video logo - logo transparent diffuser that lives in the lower right corner of the evening news of broadcasting - you know probably what I'm talking about. Any customer has is a version of their logo (fortunately large enough) raster. The customer claims to not be able to find the artist and cannot provide any more, so no vectors, without diapers, nothing useful.

  The logo contains a type. Some letters touch and others overlap. When I'm Illustrator up all of this, I had groups of several letters that was not unexpected. I need to cut these letters apart and rebuild the damaged edges so that I can run these letters with a font identifier. I hope that I can identify the font, buy it and use some other letters in the logo bug.

  This is my situation.

  My problem is by cutting the letters apart. For example, the word "food", where the second "o" and the "d" overlap. Here the anchor points are "changing the anchor points of direction." When I use the scissors tool, I click on turn two anchor points and click. I was expecting when I did what the "d" would become a path separate from the 'ood' path it is now. But this does not happen. The path does not change visibly. When I use the direct Selection tool and click on the "d", the path is clearly still "ood" and when I try to move the "d" all three letters move. So I have not actually cut the 'd' at the end. Yet.

  That said, when I use this same technique to cut the path on the ascending g-d, it separates well and I can move the upper part of the stem off the coast of the "d" with no problems. So I think it has something to do with the Cup to the anchor points. But obviously, IDK.

  What I am doing wrong? Or what other actions I do to separate the letters and make them independent? Or I do how completely wrong?

  I know, I know, I'm such a newbie. But I have never had a client ask something like this before, so to Illustrator I * am * a newbie. What is life without learning curves?

  2 are you keys with Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v to copy and paste?
   
  Method 1: To know if it is a problem with the keyboard or software, if you use Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v to copy and paste the key using the mouse to copy and paste and vice versa and see if you can copy and paste.
   
  Method 2: On screen keyboard allows you to copy and paste and see if that helps.

• Cut the text from the image using the Pathfinder tool

  Hi all

  I'm cutting text from an image in Illustrator. I use the version on a Dell XPS 12 CS6.

  I have scoured the internet for instructions and have tried everything, but when I followed the same steps in Illustrator I don't get my desired result. I created the contours for the text, so that the image and text are on the same layer, grouped (and dissociated) and then I tried all the options in the pathfinder, nothing helps. I've done it before with an image, but for some reason can not get it to work this time.

  I even tried to make the image in a clipping mask, so it would be a 'form' instead of 'image', but that didn't do anything either.

  If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it that I spent hours trying to figure this out!

  Pathfinder will not work with a path and a picture.

  Instead, put your text above the image (it can be the living text), select both.

  You can then use the button do mask in the transparency to cut your text on the image palette.

  

• Simple cut and past the text in JS please

  Hello world. A big problem I always had with Indesign, is that I can't seem to remove shift as a keyboard shortcut for cutting text. (This is the shortcut, I grew up with and could never get used to the use of Ctrl-X, that I prefer to use for other things). In my view, there is a fundamental bug which means that this shortcut will not work. (In the box keyboard shortcuts dialog, 'cut' is listed under the Edit menu. It works on the text boxes and objects when assigned to 'default', but not in the selected text when the 'text' option is used.)

  Therefore, I thought I'd try to assign the shortcut to a simple piece of JS code. Can someone give me the syntax if you please. Can follow programming languages, I am new to JS and despite playing for a few hours, that I can't seem to find the code to cut the selected text in the Clipboard.

• Problems with the HTML text and cutting!

  Hey everybody,

  This is my first post a lot! I have a very simple question but frustrating, I cut text in illustrator (object > slice > make), then to make this text in HTML (slice Options) text. Then I export my picture with other pictures behind this text using the 'Save for Web and devices' option to find that the "HTML" text has moved all art behind it!

  I have attached a picture of a very basic example of what is going on, as you can see all around this text has been moved, the text does not stay on top of the work behind it?

  

  I would appreciate any help on this problem, probably very easy to solve!

  There is nothing "to"stay on top"- a slice is a slice and they are prepared automatically side by side. You can only assign a background color. I strongly suggest do you a little reading on HTML / CSS first. No offense, but you are using the wrong tool if you think that I could remotely anything like usable HTML code...

• With 10 FF, when you access fields: no cursor doesn't appear, cannot select text, no visual indication that you have access to a field.

  When you click in a field to enter text (as in this text box), no visual indicator appears (for example, a cursor blinking) to let you know that you have access to the field. In addition, when you select the text in the field, there is no indicator that you have selected text (do not be highlighted). The only way to know is to start typing or trying to cut text or paste text. It is not at all intuitive.

  You encounter this bug that will be fixed in Firefox 10.0.1, eventually published later this week.

  My newly acquired Sansa Clip + (such as an upgrade to my Sansa Clip v1) gives me a bit of problem.

  Difference in quality side (I expressed the opinion that v1 seems a tad better) its the Clip + gives a little problem of tag id3 so.

  Some artist or track names have their cut text, for example:

  "Theatre Of Tragedy" becomes "Film Theatre"

  "Rage Against The Machine" becomes "Rage against the.

  Loading the same MP3s in EasyTag shows tags in its entirety.

  Don't know if its relevant, but the same thing (cutting of tag) arrives on my v1 as well.

  Someone knows what may cause this? I use EasyTag 2.1.5 on Ubuntu 9.04, if anyone has a specific setting that works, it will be great.
