Cutting tool for XP

After you use the cutting tool from Microsoft on my husband (Vista) computer, I would install on my HP pavilion with XP. How do I do that? Everything I've found so far on the forum explains how to use the tool, but nothing tells me how to download it on my computer.

Exactly the same as that is not available for XP, but there are alternatives.

  • Cutting tool for Windows XP Professional

Could someone tell me where I can download Snipping tool for Windows XP Professional? I appreciate your support of all.

    Thank you

You can find an application tool cutting on CodePlex.   I can't vouch for the website or the software.  If you do not download anything, scan it with your antivirus software before installing.

You can consider using a utility of "screenshot".  I use FastStone Capture 5.3 (freeware) and it has many features that I prefer on painting and other programs of this nature.  Newer versions are not free.

  • Alternative to the cutting tool for Windows 7 Starter

I bought a net-book with Windows 7 Starter & it does not capture tool. So I tried all the other snipping programs & none of them can just drag a page copied to an email that I prepare. They want all save, share etc. They can send email if you only want to send a screenshot, but I need to move to screen multiple blows to an email. I use a web site based on Ihost Exchange Outlook if it makes a difference. Does anyone know of a real alternative to the capture tool? Snippy, Snagit, CaptureIt, Lightshot and anyone else I've tried doesn't do the same thing.

    Hello

I suggest you use your favorite search engine to continue searching for the desired program.

  • How to keep or make the area outside the transparent cutting tool. For me he is white and comes when I print

I like to use the cutting tool and the photo frames.  For example, I use an oval frame that leaves the edges of the original outside the image. Initially the air transparent edges, but they are white and show when I print I do not have a completely white background

How to make the box really transparent outside - or adjust?

If you save your picture in jpeg format, you cannot have transparency. The jpeg format simply doesn't support transparency. You must save in .png, .psd, .tiff formats.

Note that the layer "background" in the layers palette must be transformed into a 'standard' layer to keep the transparency. Menu layer > New > layer.

  • The cutting tool does not work after windows updates.

I read answers to similar questions about the failure of the cutting tool.  I use the tool cutting regularly and I think it's a fantastic tool in Windows. I have Vista Ultimate and all my windows updates have managed: none were not installed correctly, and I did not install new programs or hardware.  It seems that Microsoft knows the snipping tool does not - why can't they simply provide an update patch to correct the problem, rather than make us do all the work.  I don't have to go through hoops of restorations etc to get something it seems work was broken by updates.  I'm about to go to a Mac.

It worked for me! Thank you!

  • The cutting tool not working anymore... :-(__It was my favorite thing...

For some reason my Snipping Tool no longer works. I clicked and 10 or 20 seconds, and I get the error: the cutting tool does not work on your computer right now. Restart your computer, and then try again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

I did a scan of the disc, and the Tablet PC optional components meet. (Enabled).

This is a dell computer that came preloaded, so I don't think that I can recreate the cutting tool of a disc. ALSO... mysteriously, my tool of Windows Live Mail has decided to not SEND email at the same time.

I have chased google and hope you can help. It's me MISSING.

    Suggestions:

    1. If it is possible: to do a system restore. Choose the date free snipping worked as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    2. start > Search box, type system32 (that's a Word) > Enter > system32-box right, superior search window type SnippingTool.exe (that's a word too).
Don't you see that SnippingTool.exe appears?
If so, click it or PIN to the Start Menu or the desktop (create shortcut).

For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • The cutting tool are not sent Snip to the e-mail recipient.

The cutting tool are not sent Snip of recipient of mail on Windows Live Mail 2011.  Had worked on earlier versions.  Click on the send Snip button, and nothing happens.

A couple of things you could try.

Launch the tool captures via a right click on it and select 'run as administrator '.

See if the uninstallation and reinstallation of the Snipping Tool makes a difference.

This is a quote from Ronnie Vernon.

"Try refreshing the Snipping Tool installation. This tool is part of the Tablet PC optional components in Windows Vista.

Open Control Panel, click Classic view in the task pane.

    Double-click programs and features.

Click on the 'activate Windows features and turn off' in the task pane.

This window may take a few minutes to display.

When the options appear in the list, scroll to the "Tablet PC Optional Components" and remove the check mark for this element.

Click OK, quit everything and restart the computer.

This allows to uninstall the "Snipping Tool" System.

Once the computer restarts, go back to the Panel and repeat the same procedure.

This time the check box adds the "Tablet PC Optional Components".

This will install these components in the system with a new copy of all the files. »

  • Increase the quality of the screenshots in the cutting tool?

I mean, it is, can capture shears which are a quality jpeg image (higher resolution?) higher.  I make videos using a tinsmith shear quality is poor.

    Thank you!

    Hi Bill B.

You can save a snip as an HTML, PNG, GIF, or JPEG file. After a capture, you can save it by clicking on the capture button Save in the annotation window. Save the capture to a file on your computer by clicking the file menu and then click Save as and choose the file you want.
