CVI Distribution problem

Hello

I did a small CVI program to read data from a data acquisition device, using the sample code in http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/583.
I mostly just added another parcel and an option to save the data.  Somehow, when I go to make a distribution, he said I must include LabVIEW and one bunch of other things that I have not installed with the distribution.  This does not occur when I try to distribute the sample code, it seems to need the basics.  I don't know what I did that convinced the CVI include LabVIEW, among other things.  He won't let me not clear check boxes to include LabVIEW in the distribution, but I can't fill a building distribution, because I don't seem to have what he wants on this machine.  Help?

The DAQmx driver has dependencies that include versions of the LabVIEW run-time engine. If you want a DAQ package in your distribution, you will need to include its dependencies as well. You will be prompted during the build process of distribution for the necessary source media (distributions OR origin). All Installer, you are asked to provide will be something that has been installed on the system to a point before.

If it is a problem for you, you can uncheck the DAQmx component in the list. In this case, you must install the driver from data acquisition to your target systems separately (leave a driver CD OR, for example).

  • Alignment of memory with CVI 2013 problem

    Hello

I just installed 2013 CVI from CVI 2010 and opening my old projects, I'm in trouble with the alignment of the memory.

Not in all the projects that I opened, I get the problem, and I'm quite confused about this.

I used to keep in line with the limits of 1 byte of memory and I have thousands and thousands of saved file with this method.

I have prepared a very simple project (attached to this post) to illustrate the problem, consider that the result would have been with CVI 2010 'occupation of 5 bytes.

    Pragma pack() change his behavior?

Y at - it a flag set in the Options menu or elsewhere?

If anyone has a suggestion please help me.

    Thank you

    Sergio

    Hello

I found the problem, there's a semicolon that follows the directive of preprocessor #pragma pack (1), and it causes the pragma is ignored.

Remove the semicolon, everything works fine.

    Sorry!

  • CVI Distribution needs 2 versions of CVI device drivers

I have an app that I'm building a distribution, it is in the CVI 9.0.1 and several versions before that.

When I build it, he asks the device drivers of CVI (CVI 9.0.1) of February 2009 and drivers of CVI (CVI 8.5.1) since March 2008.

Is it possible that I can do this using all the stuff from the latest driver disks (the disk of the Feb 2009)?

It is an application that runs on a box of PXI, so there a lot of drivers for that and some map on the (I think)!

    Hi Ken,

The components included from this source "Cache" will find when you go to manage Distribution, click on your distribution and click on modify. Access the driver and Components tab, then go down to each active boxes and on the right pane, you will see a check box in the component Source. Check this and it will always ask you to insert the disc of the first generation, but after that, you won't have to.

    I hope this helps!

  • LabWindows CVI GUI problems on XP Embedded

I developed a CVI 9.0 application that works fine on XP Pro.  On an XP Embedded system, however, when the application is started the GUI came but it appeared that all the text labels are absent and some controls showed no right.  I could click on the controls and the application does what it was designed to do.  I thought that maybe some of the font files had disappeared so I copied all the files from XP Pro system fonts and installed on the XP Embedded system but it has not fixed the problem.

    See the attached screenshots...

I developed an application with CVI 6.0 for a XP system eight years ago and it works fine on the XP Embedded System.

    Has anyone seen this problem?

I solved the problem simply by going to regional & Language Options Advanced and set to English (United Kingdom), then back to English (United States) and that some how my problems solved.

  • Download reader 11.0.06 for distribution problems

I applied for the rights to distribute on the Adobe site.

It has been approved, I followed the link indicating which version I want. I type that in... I get another e-mail to download the package and it happens like Adobe Acrobat 9?

I needed to 11.0.06. Specifically, I need the msi so that I can edit using the Customization Wizard to make a transformation which is consistent with our company policy prior to distribution.

    Any thoughts?

I just noticed that you need the MSI installer. You can find it on the site of Adobe FTP ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/

Note that the MSI installer is provided for 11.0.0.

  • Deployment of Cisco ISE version 1.2.1.198 distribution problem

Dear all, I have 3 ISE (node Admin, PSN & MNT) running on the 1.2.1.198 version with no patch. My node MNT is not sync. with the admin node. I need to apply for a certificate, but get error. I can't remove the record it. I tried to push the patch 3 Installing even on the Admin node, but does not push to the node MNT or PSN. I enclose the screenshots for your reference. Please let me know if you need any input on my side.

First, you must configure another node from ISE to run the 'Monitoring' character before you can unregister this node. A deployment of ISE requires at least 1 Director and 1 followed by persona. If for example, you can go to your admin node and turn the track persona and then try to cancel the registration of this node again.

    I hope this helps!

  • building distribution is missing parts

    I'm using Labwindows CVI 2012 on Windows 7 x 64

I want to build a distribution that has need of my exe, shared CVI runtime engine and OR variable motor.

I have the full development of a download, unzipped CVI distribution on my local hard drive in C:\Archive\NationalInstriuments\LabWindows\CVI_2012.

The first time I have start building distribution, he asks where he can find a few extras of the DVD. This was resolved after referring to the unzipped above subdirectory.

Later during construction and with all the repeated tests, building starts but abandoned after an action with an error log. In the error log, it reports that missing a few parts for mxs.msi and mxs64.msi. It seems like the wrong subdirectory that does not exist on my hard drive: C:\Archive\NationalInstruments\Common\Products (the error log has been added).

The building is a subdirectory with a setup.exe and a bin subdirectory with the content. But try this Signals (as occur after the build error) errors.

Q: How can I solve this?

Can I update a row in a text file where these courses are defined?

I can add a subdirectory on my hard drive... and what files/tree what I put in it?

    Do you know another solution?

    PPPS

    He works (today).

I don't know what action (single or multiple) has solved my problems. I found communication engine, error, construction and setting Variable caching products. So I tried a lot, lost track of sequences, but finished with a work labwindows after:

-run the application as administrator (on the top of admin rights)

-Rename the file manifest and ProductCache-sub-directory for NOR engine Variable

-Labwindows build possibility shows the installer to select the source for this component

Possible information hidden corrupt or corrupt cached product. Possible problems with write access to the program files (x 86). Possible conflicts with all dependent drivers update... So, it can happen again. And it now works.

Therore or: If please look at the benefits and the contras a button to read about new product placed in cache (with demolition when the source is not found).

Thank you all for reading (even if not solve) messages. Jos

  • Image ".bmp" error-12 open memory

    Hi all

I have a ".bmp" image (sending sick camera me photo by ftp, attached example), but I can't open the file with Labwindows to see.

    For example, the function DisplayImage

    DisplayImageFile (Panel, PRODUCTION_PICTURE, 'sick0.bmp');

This function returns me error - 12.

I can open the image with windows, paint and other software, but I can't see the image in my software.

How can I solve that?  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Best regards

I don't understand how this could happen, but files you have set do not follow the format of .bmp and apparently the CVI functions cannot correct the error since viewers the normal image are capable of doing.

In particular, section BITMAPINFOHEADER oh the file header seems corrupt, holding-480 in his field of biHeight instead of 480. You can see the value in examining the file with a hex editor: offset 22 read you 20 FE FF FF. change these values to 01 00 00 E0, corresponding to 480, the image can be loaded into the controls of the CVI without problems. I enclose the image update for your reference.

This situation affects commands as DisplayImageFile, GetBitmapFromFile and GetBitmapFromFileEx.

You should try to understand whence this anomaly: If directly from the camera, ftp transfer or I don't know where.

  • Are pre-existing registry entries overwritten by the installer?

I was wondering what happens when creating a distribution installer that creates registry keys, but keys already exist on the target computer when the Setup program is run.  Change the keys to existing registry or the installer will skip them?

    Thank you.

I think that they get too wrote.

You do not get file or revision based on components with the CVI distribution Publisher: If the version of the installation is more recent than what was last used to install the application, it will overwrite everything in the distribution, even if later versions of the separate elements are present on the target.

Distribution tools more efficient (for example InstllShield) can you give the desired probably behavior.

I don't think the individual registry entries to wear a version on them: common practice is to use a different set of registry values for a more recent demand, not revised version of the keys and values.

  • Question about Lab Manager and ESX Resource Pools

    Hello world

I was wondering if I can get feedback from some of the members of the community.  We used Lab Manager very strongly in our support organizations and it has proved to be a valuable tool.  Recently, we collaborated with the Department of technical training and started hosting online seminars and classes for them using Lab Manager.  Last week we had a fairly large class of users (approx. 45), each duty deploy 2 rather Beefy VMs that were very intensive resources (Jboss, SQL, Mail to name a few).  My colleague and I went through a lot of trials and planning to ensure that our infrastructure can handle the load while allowing our users to date at the same speed and reliability, so that they are used.

Our Lab Manager ESX server pools made up of the following:

5 HP DL380 G5 servers with 2 x Quad Core 2.8 GHZ processors (8 cores each) with 32 GB of RAM each

2 HP DL580 G5 servers with 4 x Quad Core 2.8 GHZ processors (16 cores each) with 128 GB of RAM each

When the class is running and everyone has made their 2 machines, we noticed for some reason, he was all on ESX2 and 3 deployment (380 s).  Then came the ESX alarms, use of 90% of memory, then more than 100% bringing the disk page.  The CPU usage was at a all time high.

I look at the 2 580 s and there are about 4 virtual machines deployed on them.

    So my question is...

How does he know where to launch a Virtual Lab Manager machine?  There's no sense 2 servers have been brought to the red zone, and almost overloaded when the 2 most powerful servers in my farm are nearly dormant.  I noticed sometimes in the past, but not this bad.  Normally, we have about 45-50 computers deployed at some point and it seems to spread them out properly.

This group of training has access to the same LUN and ESX server with Betclick as any other organization that we have.

We have decided hosting several sessions of training may be greater than this one and would like to know that the virtual machines will be distributed properly.

I would like to know your opinion on this

First to answer your question, then make guess what happens.

As indicated in response Ilya, LM distributed VMs differently with active DRS resource pools and pools of resources without active DRS.

LM place VMs when the DRS is not used.

When DRS is used, we use the DRS admission control to select the host to place virtual machines.

DRS is turned off, LM uses its own placement routine:

For each virtual machine, LM filter all managed servers that cannot run the virtual machine. A complete list of patterns are:

    • The managed server has not enough memory or quota for virtual machine to run the virtual machine.

    • The host is not connected to the data store that is the virtual machine.

    • The virtual machine has active state (suspended) and the CPU of the server managed by the waking state has been captured is not compatible with the managed server currently considered.

    • The virtual machine has been a guest on 64-bit and the managed server is not 64-bit capable.

    • The virtual machine has more processors than the managed server.

    • The managed server is not accessible or is set to "prohibit deployments." Not reachable may mean that the lm-agent or its not to ping queries is not answer (this is visible in the list of managed server page).

Once we have the complete list of eligible servers, we place the virtual machines on the host including the smallest (MemoryReservation % + CPUReservation %). By default, we reserve not CPU on LM VMs, this internship will be largely due to the memory on the host computers if you have not changed the settings of reservation of CPU on your virtual machines.

For closed deploy to the PF3, force us all virtual machines to go on the same host, so if any virtual machines have any special data store / CPU type specification, all virtual machines is forced to go on this host. If there are conflicting requirements between different virtual machines in the same configuration, deployment will fail. Closed VMs also have another condition to check that is rarely achieved in practice: number of closed networks available on the managed server. By default, this is 20 and you will need more than 20 different configurations closed running on a managed server before you who will strike.  (LM4 allows Cross fencing host, so this does not apply in LM4).

To make a guess blind because of your distribution problem - if you use the saved state and fencing, it's probably the type of processor.  Processor type can be checked on the host properties page.

If you not are not I would check that the images can deploy on the 580 s by disabling the 380s and trying to deploy them.

If you use DRS (which you're not), it could be due to deployment of virtual machines too fast for the algorithm of control for the entrance of VC.  An easy solution for this is to extinguish the DRS on the cluster manager of laboratory.

We tested load internal repeatedly, the product QA in different laboratories, we run (LM has been used in VMworld Labs for the past couple years and internal systems of training and demonstration for our Organization implemented SE), so no need to worry about this.  I assure you that the first 'real' performance problem you will encounter will be almost certainly due to an overload of your storage array (too many IOPS / s)... and for that you have to distribute content in data warehouses and use techniques of creating paths to balance the load.

    Kind regards

    Steven

I have a marked RED of Fulcrum OR reports on the CVI 8.1 Distribution Edit Panel. When I ignore it, the distribution kit is produced, installed and the program works correctly.

  • How to force the compilation released executable before running the distribution of LabWindows/CVI kit?

I am new in 2015 of the CVI. I used CVI 7 and when I chose "Create the Kit of Distribution", when I was still in debug mode, Labwindows asked me to build the executable of setting before creating the Distribution Kit. This does not happen to CVI2015, and the Distribution Kit is created with the latest built executable version, although I made a few changes in my code! This is a problem since I work in debug mode and I usually forget to build the executable of liberation before calling the distribution kit, so I need CVI to do it automatically like CVI 7 did. I suppose that there is an option to do this, but I can't find. Can someone tell me please how to resolve this problem and force CVI to build the exe version before building the distribution kit? Thank you.

Today, I've solved quite simply create a new distribution. The previous like unsing was automatically imported by CVI7 project. By creating a new distribution, now when I change something, CVI ask me if I want to build the release. So I did not understand the problem but I solved it by editing a new distribution kit.
