Daisy disk

Hey all

I was wondering if anyone can help. I had a version of daisy disk on my Mac Book Pro 2011 some time ago, removed with App Delete because he would never install updates and I was just tired... I've been in contact with their customer support on the remove completely, and they have no idea on what to do with my problem...

When I go to send an email and click on attachments, I have the drop down menu, dropbox, photos etc... but Daisy drive there as well white small file

I went into the files theFinder and he can't find anywhere any suggestions on how I can remove this completely!

What is "Delete the App" / which is an application that is supposed to remove apps?

Try using the manual method of:

http://2-macuninstaller.com/remove-daisydisk-from-Mac.html

NOT download/install an app like Mac Remover

The same situation applies to the virtual machine xp.  I have 14 hard is there with a couple of them exceeds 15 GB each.  Why do I get so many virtual disks?  The snapshot function has something to do with it?  If I delete some of them to recover space, what are the possible ramifications?  Thank you.

Yes, they are instantaneous.  If you have active AutoProtect you can decrease the number of snapshots of protection to save disk space.  Usually, it is safe to delete snapshots as the changes are going to get rolled up the line to the base vmdk.  If you have that much space, removing every link can take a long time.

I use usually 1-2 just before I know I could do something in the trash a virtual machine like instant manuals install AV or test a firewall, etc.

Have just updated the OS to Sierra - & that made matters worse, not better!

A disk image is a convenient way for a developer to package and deliver the program. Once you have copied the program in your Applications folder, there is no reason to keep. You can safely remove. Note: Make sure that you have copied the image program in your applications folder before deleting.

  • Cloning of SSD HD via active with Filevault disk utility

    Hi all

I want to improve my HD to SSD.

I intend on using disk utility for recovery mode to clone my HD to a Virgin SSD I bought.

I must, however, Filevault enabled on my HD.

It will be a problem when it comes to cloning the drive?

    Thank you

    Adam

No, it shouldn't be a problem. It may be necessary first turn on FileVault and encrypt the SSD. But if there is no problem just turn off FileVault on the HARD drive.

  • @Loner TCant boot Windows after the OS disk partitioning

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME

Problem is on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2012)

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Summer read your responses on other threads of hours but I can't seem to fix mine.

I just tried to do my small MAC drive through disk utility, I shrunk the size of the disk of my mac partition.

I still see "BOOTCAMP Windows" in Preferences > floppy boot, but when I restart in Windows I get a can not find disc blackscreen/error and it tells me to insert my Windows disk which I did not.

When I restart the 'option' key now just the MAC HD.

Can I save my Windows partition or do I have to start all over again?

  • Boot disk problem

    Hey guys,.

I'm in desperate need of help! My laptop froze on me today, forcing me to hard reboot.  In doing so, he was only a folder flashing with an exclamation mark on the subject.  I tried some of the troubleshooting tips I found and held R command to force the recovery of the internet, but don't have my usual disks part of utility of disc.  All I had were 'Disc O' and 'base system Mac X', who checked properly without a need of repair.  I then tried to reinstall OS X, but it lacked all the discs for me to choose as the destination of the installation.

What can I do to start my computer? What is a hard drive problem? IM traveling to the India tomorrow and it's a real bummer that I do not have a working laptop the night before leaving... I'll take it to an Apple Store, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing I have.  It seems that some of the issues that have worked for others have not worked for me.

Hard drive seems to be dead but may have gotten disconnected. One of these requires a repair.

  • I interrupted utility disk neck 3 clear and now I can't start

    Hello

with my iMac 21.5 "2016 days 30 years playing up (beachballing each click of the mouse), I decided to start over with a new facility. However, when I deleted my hard drive I accidentally selected the erase 3-pass. I stopped very quickly the erase operation, but now I cannot start my computer and cannot use the recovery of the internet option when you press the R option to install new software to boot.

so has my cancellation erase the neck 3, all the data on my disk unrecoverable and the unusable disk?

spoke to apple and they say it needs a repair? It is 31 days old. I have probably need a new hard drive because of this?

    Thank you.

Yes. The clear operation is all data unrecoverable.

The first step must always be a backup before you start any of this important project.

If Apple says it should be repaired then take to them and ask them to fix it please.

  • Can I create a recovery bootable USB through disk utility?

My HARD drive is dying, I can't access my Macintosh HD partition anymore and I can't reinstall OS because I SMART errors. Before the format and reinstall the attempt to load slow my computer, random errors, etc. So I definitely think that the HARD drive is near death. My plan is to replace my HDD for a Virgin SSD, I perform this task several times on computers of the victory but for MAC, I wonder how I will load the new OS. Can I make a bootable USB with the recovery partition, but on a USB key tools? Unofrtunately I have more available Mac to create the USB bootable through itunes.

My computer is the MacBook Pro (13-inch mid 2010), I have also all original packaging somewhere, if there is a CD that I can use, I certainly can get too.

    Any advice?

    Thank you!

Apple have this to do a USB installation...

Create an installer for OS X - Apple support bootable

Another option is to use the diskmakerx.com application

You must have the OS installer downloaded to make these methods of work is probably not practice on your failed drive.

Both of these options are to run a 'normal' operating system too. The recovery partition is not 'normal '.

Another option is to use the Internet recovery mode if your Mac supports...

Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support

On macOS recovery - Apple Support

Use wired ethernet for best results, since it will download a bootable OS & then download the installer of the OS also.

I suspect you have the update of the firmware installed to add this feature if it has been updated over the last 3 years

You may be able to generate a score of alternative recovery to another disk (such as a USB key) If you want to just "compensation of base OS.

OS X: on Recovery Disk Wizard - Apple Support

A last solution would be to clone your drive failing on an external drive (or use the new SSD in a proper case). That can be done in the modes of recovery via disk utility. Basically, you use a feature to "restore" to clone one volume to another. (I don't see clear instructions for the moment so ask if you want to pursue this option).

  • sparsebundle disk image not mounting

I've recently upgraded to Mac OS Sierra and now I can not mount an image of disk sparsebundle.

I enter the password, and then nothing happens.

I tried the same image on a Mac running Leopard and it opens fine.

I tried a few other sparsebundle some and other encrypted disk images not. Some are open very well, but others do not.

So, it doesn't seem to be a problem of sparsebundle encrypted disk image.

    Any suggestions?

After investigation a little more the problem is Sophos AV

Turn it off and the disk mount fine images.

    I hope this helps.

  • Disk utility does not see an external drive on my network

I'm trying to reformat the external drive that I use for backup on Time Machine, but disk utility does not see it. She appears in the Finder as a shared drive. I use OS x 10.11.6. Thank you.

Disk utility is not supposed to see the network drives.

If it's a USB, connect it to your computer.

If it's an Ethernet or wireless, using a utility specifically designed for this.
