Data Guard Broker fails with ORA-16635 and ORA-03135

Hi all

I configured Oracle RAC with 11.2 Dataguard on Windows 2003.
I have already configured standby without Data Guard Broker and everything works fine, but when I try to use Data Guard Broker, it cannot synchronize the files of the Data Guard Broker.

I tried everything, including MOS, but not found anything.

I get this error.

Hello

CISCO firewalls have a configuration option 'inspect sqlnet' or 'deep packet inspection '. This setting can affect the transfer of certain data on the network and the result in malformed packets or down.

Check if this option is enabled, if it is turn off the option "inspect sqlnet" at the firewall level.

And try again...

Kind regards
Levi Pereira

  • Passage of custody of data with broker fails with ORA-16570 / ORA-16665

    I'm using Data Guard 11 g on Windows Server 2012 64 Bit. Recently, I have configured the broker to manage the permutations more uncomfortable.

    Unfortunately the digital switchover does not work. Broker Setup seems fine, since I can activate t and redo apply works perfectly...

    Now, the behavior is as follows... Once I put the passage through brokers, it shows the following:

    DGMGRL > passage to the smart_stb

    Continue to pass, please wait...

    Error: ORA-16665: wait for the result of a database

    Failed.

    Unable to failover, primary database is always "smart".

    The digital switchover happens, there is no restart of the primary database well! Does not appear to be linked to a DGMGRL buggy service entrance. In fact the database will not yet descended. The principal is supending all processes while trying to do so. Broker runs into a timeout, of course, but the principal remains in a State of supending. The primary doesn't seem to be able to cominicate with side standby or vice versa. Which is strange since the restoration of log shipping and apply is workng fine as mentioned... do a manual failover. I don't know what could cause this kind of behavior... Double checked everything. Once I restart the two databases and align on the rule of law that the digital transition is complete. But Needless to say that it is not intending to use the broker...

    Solved!

    A logon trigger that makes an insert in a table for each log in the appearance of this behavior. Since dataguard brings the standby database open mode ReadOnly cannot insert the trigger and the strange behavior as described happens!

    Hope that could help someone in the future...

  • Automatic failover with Transport and apply Lag fails with ORA-16798

    Hello
    I configured a physical database maximum Performance, accelerated failover mode standby. I set FastStartFailoverLagLimit to 3 hours (10800 seconds).

    If I understand the Oracle documentation, Fast-Start failover should work with Max Performance, as long the Transport timeout is whithin the FastStartFailoverLagLimit.

    So I started a few scripts, generated some loading, so I have a Transport and apply the shift of 3-4 Minutes.
    Then I killed pmon to cause an automatic failover.

    Failover failed with ORA-16798.

    I know, there is Note 846087.1 , which describes the problem, but I thought that automatic failover should work in this configuration.
    Is this a bug or am I wrong?

    Thank you very much in advance.

    The FastStartFailoverLagLimit property specifies the amount of data, in seconds, during which the standby database target can

    delay on the main database on the recovery plan applied. If again applied Eve point database notes that many

    seconds of the primary database redo point generation, accelerated tipping is allowed.

    Errors show a gap for sequences 34-37, which is not optimal for a fast failover.

    Even if FastStartFailoverLagLimit is set to 3 hours, there is too much data loss for the standby site because newspapers are not available on the backup server and the Broker cannot activate the Pb of the day before.

    I recommend to to lean on increase the bandwidth network.

  • Several primary and physical databases Configuration ensures in Data Guard Broker

    Hello

    Is it possible to add two or several primary and physical databases configuration ensures in data guard broker?

    I have 1 primary databases and two databases physical standby that is

    (1) primary that is pri - (database primary)

    (2) secondary i, e, s (physical pending)

    (3) Secondary2 i.e. sec2 (physical pending)

    Practical AM sinister place, my scenario is my pri and dry machines are in seat, if the pri crashed it switch to s that works very well and my S2 is in another area office. Suppose that if my two siege machines pri and sec crashed, so I want to do my mahcine sec2 as primary.

    I have two separate computers to the broker a headquarters and a District Office

    Use failure of quick start on Data Guard Broker, broker headquarters machine I have configured pri and dry but in sector office broker not able congifured pri and S2 and the machine.

    can be done several primary database configuration with data bases on hold?

    Has anyone done this before, or has a perform a recovery after loss of place...

    need help or suggestion

    thanx

    No.... It is not possible. When you use the DG broker, the first thing you can do in the DGMGRL utility is to deliver CONFIGURATION to CREATE. You can see on the doc of this command that you define here the PRIMARY DATABASE.

    The command to add a DATABASE to the broker, adds a new database pending. You cannot add an another primary.

    The broker configuration is explicitly for a primary and all standby databases is supported. If you have an another primary, you create a separate DG broker configuration.

    See you soon,.

  • Parameters must set up Data Guard with Data Guard Broker

    Hi gurus,

    I am following this guide http://www.oracle.com/us/solutions/sap/wp-ora4sap-dataguard11g-303811.pdf, but it does not specify what settings must be defined for the service to the top.

    I noticed that we can set upwards of two ways, either Oracle Enterprise Manager or Data Guard Broker. Do we need to configure the same settings in OEM and after to activate the DGMGRL?

    Can you help me?

    Thank you

    Denis;

    Yes. Check my example here:

    http://www.Visi.com/~mseberg/Data_Guard_Listener_Example.html

    COMMUNITY is what could be an earlier version.

    Yes, the old version. :

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/A57673_01/doc/net/doc/NWUS233/APB.htm

    It worries me because my files are very different and I'm afraid that mix in mine will break your further. The link you posted seems good similar to my settings, but I do not read very good Spanish.

  • DG fails with ora-16532 / ora-16577

    Because my DBs are on a network disconnected, I can't copy and paste large quantities. Everything here is typical. Please be patient.

    Primary DB is EE 11.2.0.3.0 on RHEL 5.1 and running on the file (no - ASM) system.

    DB pending is EE 11.2.0.4.0 OEL 6.4 and running on ASM.

    I perform RMAN DUPLICATE ACTIVE without error. I have run the following SQL queries on the instance of relief:

    ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE DISCONNECT FROM SESSION;

    ALTER SESSION SET nls_date_format='DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS';

    select database_role,protection_mode from v$database;
    DATABASE_ROLE      -     PROTECTION_MODE
    PHYSICAL STANDBY   -     MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE

    SELECT sequence#, first_time, next_time, applied
    FROM   v$archived_log ORDER BY sequence#;

    I compare v$ archived_log against primary. Everything transferred and applied. Life is good. I am surprised, I did not met all the problems again! Maybe I really became a good DBA now! Now all I do is turn on Data Guard.

    I have set up my caller on hold. Notable entries are below.

    ...

    (SID_DESC =
    (SDU = 32767)
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = acme2_DGMGRL)
    (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_home1)
    (ENVS="TNS_ADMIN=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid/network/admin")

    (SID_NAME = acme2)
    )

    DYNAMIC_REGISTRATION_LISTENER_ACME2=OFF

    Because dynamic registration is disabled, I have generated statically _DGB above entry. I understand that ENVS is not strictly necessary, however, I have included to exclude errors. I'm sure some additional settings are properly configured.

    Elementary school:

    show parameter log_archive
    log_archive_config:  'dg_config=(acme,acme2)'
    log_archive_dest_1:  LOCATION=USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST VALID_FOR=(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=acme

    Standby:

    show parameter log_archive
    log_archive_config:  'dg_config=(acme2,acme)'
    log_archive_dest_1:  LOCATION=USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST
    log_archive_dest_2:  SERVICE=acme AFFIRM SYNC VALID_FOR=(online_logfiles,primary_role) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=acme

    I check on the primary:

    show parameter dg_broker
    NAME      -  VALUE
    dg_broker_config_file1 - /u02/app/oracle/fra/dr1acme.dat
    dg_broker_config_file2 - /u02/app/oracle/fra/dr2acme.dat
    dg_broker_true         - TRUE

    I put and check that the sleep settings:

    show parameter dg_broker
    NAME      -  VALUE
    dg_broker_config_file1 - +DATA/acme2/broker/dr1acme.dat
    dg_broker_config_file2 - +FRA/acme2/broker/dr2acme.dat
    dg_broker_true         - TRUE

    I'm going to the ASMCMD from the night before and make the directories above.

    Elementary school:

    dgmgrl
    connect sys/mypassword
    Connected.
    add database acme2 as connect identifier is acme2 maintained as physical;

    He adds very well. It is part of the configuration, but disabled. In the listener from sleep log, I see that the primary is a successful connection to the service 'acme2'.

    show database verbose acme2 (I only typed relevant properties...ask for more if need be)
    DGConnectIdentifier = 'acme2'
    LogXptMode = 'SYNC'
    Standbyfilemanagement = 'AUTO'
    DbFileNameConvert = '/u02/app/oracle, +DATA, /u03/app/oracle, +DATA'
    LogFileNameConvert = '/u02/app/oracle, +FRA, /u03/app/oracle, +FRA'
    StaticConnectIdentifier = '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(host=mystandbyhost)(port=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=acme2_DGMGRL)(INSTANCE_NAME=acme)(SERVER=DEDICATED)))'
    StandbyArchiveLocation = 'USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST'

    Database Status:
    DISABLED

    Just to double check, I use my DGMGRL Standby to try to connect to the primary DGMGRL with "sys/mypassword". Success! I can view primary DGMGRL configuration of the previous day. I have then copy and paste the "StaticConnectIdentifier" above in my primary tnsnames.ora file and create a temporary entry of TNS. I then try to tnsping this entry temp. All right. I have remove the temporary entry and return to DGMGRL. Everything went perfectly. Finally, I check the file of newspaper DG on the eve. The last line is "Configuration does not exist, Data Guard Broker loan", which is exactly what I expected to see at this stage. Can now do better?

    Elementary school:

    dgmgrl
    connect sys/mypassword
    Connected.
    enable database acme2;

    .. and so my long nightmare starts. Custody of intelligence data does not work.

    On logs waiting for DG, I see these errors for a while, but then they disappear:

    drcx: cannot open configuration file "+DATA/acme2/broker/dr1acme.dat"

    What makes the sense that they have not been copied yet. After a minute, I check the DATA + and + FRA starts on the eve and two config DG files have transferred and is where they should be. Ok. I check the database of pending log file. Only standard archived journal entries (files are always transferred from the primary school outside of Data Guard). I check ADRCI on intelligence. There are no problems or incidents.

    On the primary level, there is no problem or incident at the ADRCI and errors will only find is in the DG log file. They are:

    Broker Initiated ENABLE of site acme2 has been scheduled
    Data Guard Broker Status Summary:
    Type                 --       Name           --            Severity  --   Status
    Configuration                 DG_ACME_CONFIG       warning       ora-16607
    Primary DB                   acme                           success       ora-00000
    Physical Standby DB        acme2                         error         ora-16532

    ENABLE DATABASE acme2
    Metadata Resync failed. Status = ora-16577

    Command ENABLE DATABASE acme2 completed

    The error is repeated continually as main tent contact the broker ensures DG. I have check the earphone standby log file. I see that primary is connected to the local 'acme2_DGB' about once every minute, right mark. It is to achieve the TNS service, but the TNS service does not meets with the local broker.

    On the Pb of the day before, I run

    SQL> select process,client_process,status from v$managed_standby;

    PROCESS of CLIENT_PROCESS STATUS
    ARCHARCHCLOSING
    ARCHARCHCLOSING
    ARCHARCHCONNECTED
    ARCHARCHCLOSING
    RFSARCHIDLE
    RFSUNKNOWNIDLE
    RFSLGWRIDLE

    SELECT THE MESSAGE FROM V$ DATAGUARD_STATUS; shows nothing useful (transfers archive standard only).

    I've completely removed the DG configuration on all the boxes, removed the DG config files and completely recreated the configuration several times. In fact, I completely rebuilt the standby database DG twice. In addition, accelerated failover is disabled on the configuration of the DG.

    I tried everything I can think and find online. I would be very happy any idea on this issue that the community has to offer.

    Hello

    I do not use DG with broker but I want to ask something. I couldn't see the values of the parameters compatible on both sides. You know that the values must be the same on all the databases in a dataguard configuration.

    Primary DB is EE 11.2.0.3.0 on RHEL 5.1 and running on the file (no - ASM) system.

    DB pending is EE 11.2.0.4.0 OEL 6.4 and running on ASM.

    You need create logs of recovery sleep with similar statements to:

    ALTER DATABASE ADD STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 10

  • Confusion about Data Guard Broker - extra cost option?

    Dear all,

    11 GR 2, I know that the Data Guard Setup is a free option that comes with the Enterprise Edition, you don'r require an additional license for it.

    But I read somewhere the Data Guard Broker and using DGMGRL is a cost extra option? Is this true?

    Help kindly understand this?

    Thank you.

    Hello;

    This is part of the Enterprise edition.

    The following are required before you can use the broker:

    The main and backup databases must use the same version of Oracle

    Database 11g and each can be installed in a single instance or multiple instances

    environment. The database must be allowed for Oracle Enterprise Edition or

    Personal Edition.

  • Procedure failed with ORA-01403, associated with immediate execution, captured

    This procedure compiles without error. Its purpose is to copy the sequence of one schema to another object. After it failed with ORA-01403, I added exception code of capture (see the comments in the code).

    A few notes:

    1. I started the proceedings with exec copy_sequence ('ADDRESS_SEQ', 'SST', 'TEST1');

    2. the first sql string is built correctly since I can see in the console output:

    Select last_number in the all_sequences where sequence_owner = upper('TSS') and upper('ADDRESS_SEQ') = sequence_name

    I can run this SQL command, and returns a real value;

    Here is the procedure

  • Failover monitoring - Data Guard Broker

    Hello

    I'm working on a database of Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Solaris 10. This is a database of CARS 2 physical node that is configured in the standby mode.

    I want to monitor (send an e-mail) to myself failover (which will be triggered by the Data Guard Broker), so I think I can control failover using alert log (that normally connects the command when initiate us a failover) but I'm not sure if DataGuard Broker also did the same thing (written out the appropriate orders when a failover is triggered)

    Is there another way, we happen to know that a failover occurs (we can interrogate v database_role $ dataguard State) but I'm looking for some trigger that will be triggered instantly when a failover is initiated?

    It is also possible to monitor the observer, either upward or not?

    Hello
    you have several possibilities to do so. Easier is to use the control grid preset for her events. Or you can put a trigger on the event "after DB_ROLE_CHANGE on the database.

    The observer monitoring can be done with dgmgrl as

    connect sys/@;
    show configuration verbose;

    Showing you the presence and location of the observer.

    I'll give an example for the use of the trigger that starts a service according to the role of the database. You can customize to send you an email.

    begin
      dbms_service.create_service('safe','safe');
    end;
    /

    create trigger rollenwechsel after DB_ROLE_CHANGE on database
    declare
      vrole varchar(30);
    begin
      select database_role into vrole from v$database;
      if vrole = 'PRIMARY' then
        DBMS_SERVICE.START_SERVICE('safe');
      else
        DBMS_SERVICE.STOP_SERVICE('safe');
      end if;
    end;

  • Select dbms_metadata.get_dependent_ddl fails with ORA-31604 still exist for the object

    Hello

    In the DEPENDENCIES of DBA, I can see that I have (seen here) according to some a table objects:

    -SQL > select type, name

    -2 from dba_dependencies where REFERENCED_OWNER = upper ('stuff')

    --3 and REFERENCED_name = upper ('st_tab') and type = "VIEW";

    -NAME OF THE OWNER TYPE

    -- ----- ----- ------------------

    -VIEW STUFF STTAB_4MV_VW

    -VIEW STUFF STTAB_VW

    But trying to recover these definitions 2 times I get an error:

    -SQL > select dbms_metadata.get_dependent_ddl ('VIEW', 'ST_TAB', 'STUFF') def double;

    -ERROR:

    -ORA-31604: NAME parameter invalid "BASE_OBJECT_NAME" for the type of VIEW object in the function SET_FILTER

    -ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_METADATA_INT', line 8582

    -ORA-06512: at "SYS." Dbms_metadata", line 2882

    For some objects, it works (triggers, index), but for others (views, procedures, packages), it still fails with ORA 31604.

    If I make a direct call on dbms_metadata.get_ddl ('DISPLAY', 'STTAB_4MV_VW', 'STUFF'), it works fine.

    Everyone has seen this behavior before? (tried this code on 10g and 11g)

    Thank you very much.

    Kind regards

    SEB

    For some objects, it works (triggers, index), but for others (views, procedures, packages), it still fails with ORA 31604.

    Exactly! That's what he should do. Dependent on DOF is for objects that are actually part of the table.

    If I make a direct call on dbms_metadata.get_ddl ('DISPLAY', 'STTAB_4MV_VW', 'STUFF'), it works fine.

    Exactly! That's how you get the DDL for views and other types of distinct objects. Provide you with the type of object as the first parameter.

    Everyone has seen this behavior before? (tried this code on 10g and 11g)

    Sure! This is a normal behavior.

    See chapter doc DBMS_METADATA packages and Types

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/AppDev.111/b28419/d_metada.htm#i1019414

    Notes on use

    • These functions allow you to extract metadata for objects with a single call. They encapsulate calls to OPEN , SET_FILTER , and so on. The function you use depends on the characteristics of the type of object and if you want the DDL or XML.
      • GET_xxxis used to fetch named objects, especially schema objects (tables, views).

      • GET_DEPENDENT_xxxis used to extract dependent objects (audits, grants of the object).
      • GET_GRANTED_xxxis used to retrieve issued objects (System of subsidies, scholarships of role).
    • For certain types of objects, you can use more than one function. For example, you can use GET_xxx to fetch a name index, or GET_DEPENDENT_xxx to fetch the same index by specifying the table on which it is defined.

    See also table 74-11 in this doc for a table showing the types of objects.

The 12.1.0.1 installation is able to connect to the repository, it worked successfully for some time now. On the SGD server, quit the SGC and Agent and I invoke the 12.1.0.3 installation program. I followed the steps and when it gets to the login page, it fails with ORA-01017. Messages are displayed -
