Several primary and physical databases Configuration ensures in Data Guard Broker

Hello

Is it possible to add two or several primary and physical databases configuration ensures in data guard broker?

I have 1 primary databases and two databases physical standby that is

(1) primary that is pri - (database primary)

(2) secondary i, e, s (physical pending)

(3) Secondary2 i.e. sec2 (physical pending)

Practical AM sinister place, my scenario is my pri and dry machines are in seat, if the pri crashed it switch to s that works very well and my S2 is in another area office. Suppose that if my two siege machines pri and sec crashed, so I want to do my mahcine sec2 as primary.

I have two separate computers to the broker a headquarters and a District Office

Use failure of quick start on Data Guard Broker, broker headquarters machine I have configured pri and dry but in sector office broker not able congifured pri and S2 and the machine.

can be done several primary database configuration with data bases on hold?

Has anyone done this before, or has a perform a recovery after loss of place...

need help or suggestion

thanx

No.... It is not possible. When you use the DG broker, the first thing you can do in the DGMGRL utility is to deliver CONFIGURATION to CREATE. You can see on the doc of this command that you define here the PRIMARY DATABASE.

The command to add a DATABASE to the broker, adds a new database pending. You cannot add an another primary.

The broker configuration is explicitly for a primary and all standby databases is supported. If you have an another primary, you create a separate DG broker configuration.

See you soon,.

    Hi all

    DB: 9.2.0.6 x 64

    I have a task to create a physical database ensures in a solaris 10 - Oracle 9.2.0.6 approx. I'm used to doing this configuration on version 11.2 of Oracle and because of that I have some doubts about the possible configurations needed to be done in a 9i database.

    (1) the main question I have is in regards using RMAN. I would like to know if it is possible to restore a normal backup of my primary database in the database pending and after that, apply necessary to synchronize the day before with the primary logs archived? The controlfile I would use would be created by the RMAN command "BACKUP CONTROLFILE CURRENT for INTELLIGENCE". The RMAN script woulb be similar to the one below:

    Run {}

    allocate channel ch01 device type disk;

    allocate channel ch02 device type disk;

    allocate channel ch03 device type disk;

    allocate channel ch04 device type disk;

    Restore controlfile from "standby_controlfile.ctl"

    SQL 'edit the editing of the database';

    restore the database;

    recover the database;

    Hello;

    Question 1 – see this:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B10500_01/server.920/a96566/rcmstand.htm

    On question 2 - work assuming RMAN then DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT/LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT would NOT have to be defined in the same directory structure.

  • synchronization between the primary and standby database

    Hi all

    We have 2 database, we have 2 requirment

    (1) making a primary database and secondly of Eve
    (2) synchronization only differential data betwwen the primary and secondary daily.

    Please help me

    Hello

    What is the physical standby?
    Do you have the chance to look over the physics of the standby database.
    You just need to apply daily archived file generated to the standby database. This can be done manually or automatically through data guard.

  • change log_archive_dest_1 on primary and standby databases

    All,

    I got a primary and standby that run smoothly... (10.2.0.4 on windows 2003) However, I'm running out of space on my drive root and need to change the location of my files of newspaper archives. I guess I have to change my pfile file and recreate the spfile on both servers of this:

    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 =
    "LOCATION = C:\Oracle\flash_recovery_area\PRIM\ARCHIVELOG
    VALID_FOR = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES)
    DB_UNIQUE_NAME = PRIM'

    TO:

    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 =
    "LOCATION = E:\archive\flash_recovery_area\PRIM\ARCHIVELOG
    VALID_FOR = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES)
    DB_UNIQUE_NAME = PRIM'

    Or can I change the two systems with the location on the fly safely?

    Thank you

    Thank you

    You use LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 = LOCATION = is for the primary for local path is to say, there is no interest to spread the path archivelog primary on the eve of the database as standby database has its own local path archivelog in the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 = LOCATION = parameter which will be affected after switchover mode ensures the primary database.

  • Primary and standby database: same Oracle version?

    Hello

    We need to create a database of pending in our new data center. The database primary is version Oracle 9.2.0.8 - but only Oracle version 9.2.0.5.0 is installed on the server for the backup site.

    Is supported by Oracle anyway? No need to say that in the version 9.2.0.5.0 can be some bugs and other problems which are already fixed in 9.2.0.8.

    Would be great if someone could provide the use with a response and a link to Oracle documentation which States: must be the same version or not.

    Any help will be appreciated!

  • Insert into a primary database of Eve Active Data Guard

    I use Oracle EE 11.2.0.3.8 on Solaris 10.

    I read that it is possible to do an insert in my database for the standby Active Data Guard by redirecting the insert to get on the primary via DB link.  I GLOBAL_NAMES set to TRUE and he needs to stay that way.  This means that I can't create a DB link pointing to my first as such:

    CREATE DATABASE LINK PROD. WORLD WITH THE HELP OF "PROD_PRIM";

    How can I get around this in order to insert data in my standby ADG primary?

    Hello;

    There is an article about it here by Uwe Hesse:

    http://uhesse.files.WordPress.com/2012/03/realtimequery.PDF

    I understand that if GLOBAL_NAMES is true, then, the database link must have the same name as the database in which it connects.

  • DataGuard no synchronization between the primary and Standby databases

    Dear Sir

    If the database is a central problem of corruption in a given segment, an index for example, the synchronization process is always for the other node?

    I found a problem, because the primary database has been altered and block synchronization occurred, because the sequences were in the same paragraph, for making the switch and newspapers registered in the database side, we had problems because the details were not in the second node, so we have problems because the information contained in an instance that was not high school.

    In the Bank primary block has been altered, but not in the secondary block has been altered, you can be?
    Now we have a database with information not included in the other cases, it takes using SQL commands to migrate data from one instance to another.

    Thank you,

    "Corrupted" means the database down? The exact error message after your get?

  • How to configure Enterprise Manager Database Control (MCCD) to make it work on 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG

    Hello everyone I use Oracle Database EE 11.2.0.4 with DG.

    In these cases, I need to get Enterprise Manager Database Control running against DB with no CARS and no DG I do the following:

    I have SQLPLUS logon as user SYS or SYSTEM and drop the account sysman and business objects:

    DECLARE

    CURSOR c1 IS

    SELECT master, synonym_name name

    OF dba_synonyms

    WHERE table_owner = "SYSMAN";

    BEGIN

    TO r1 c1 LOOP

    IF r1.owner = "PUBLIC" THEN

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM ' |" R1. Name;

    ON THE OTHER

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP SYNONYM ' |" R1. Owner: '. ' || R1. Name;

    END IF;

    END LOOP;

    END;

    /

    Mgmt_view DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    DROP ROLE mgmt_user;

    /

    Sysman DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    After that, I run

    EMCA - config dbcontrol db-rest recreate

    But what do I do in case I have 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG?

    Hello

    It is not possible to monitor and administer a basic physical or logical standby, IE using Enterprise Manager Database Control Data Guard.  This is mainly due to the fact that Database Control is designed to monitor the 1-database and an environment Data Guard, by definition, includes more than 1 database.

    If you attempt to run emca against a database of pending, you will get an error like (i.e. ORA-01219: database is not open).

    Of course, database Control, can be used to monitor the current main database (with no capacity to administer or control Data Guard related features).  In such a case, failover Database Control needs to be reconfigured to run on the new primary database using the commands described in detail in Note 278100.1 how to remove, create and recreate DB Control In A Database, section c. recreate/ReConfig DB control, Option 2 10 g. recreate the control DB Configuration files and repository.

    Enterprise Manager Grid Control or Cloud control provides the functionality for display, monitor, and administer the primary and standby databases in a Data Guard configuration.

    Reference: It is Possible to configure the database for a logical or physical Standby Database command? (Doc ID 315116.1)

    You can effectively use EM 12 c cloud control to monitor and manager ensures DB

    Ref to the link for more details below

    Set up and manage to Oracle Data Guard with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c

  • Purge logs archiving on things primary and Standby and for Data Guard RMAN

    Hi, I saw a couple of orders in regard to the purge archive records in a Data Guard configuration.

    Set UP the STRATEGY of SUPPRESSION of ARCHIVE to SHIPPED to All RELIEF;

    Set UP the STRATEGY of ARCHIVELOG DELETION to APPLIED on All RELIEF;

    Q1. The above only removes logs archiving to the primary or primary and Standby?

    Q2. If deletions above archive logs on the primary, is it really remove them (immediately) or does the FRA to delete if space is needed?

    I also saw

    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO SAVED;

    Q3. That what precedes, and once again it is something that you re primary side?

    I saw the following advice in the manual of Concepts of data protection & Admin

    Configure the DB_UNIQUE_NAME in RMAN for each database (primary and Standby) so RMAN can connect remotely to him

    Q4. Why would I want my primary ro connect to the RMAN Repository (I use the local control file) of the standby? (is this for me to say define RMAN configuration settings in the Standby) manual

    Q5. Should I only work with the RMAN Repository on the primary or should I be also in things in the deposits of RMAN (i.e. control files) of the standby?

    Q6. If I am (usually mounted but not open) Physics, of standby I able to connect to its own local repository for RMAN (i.e. control based on files) while sleep mode is just mounted?

    Q7. Similiarly if I have an old lofgical (i.e. effectively read-only), to even connect to the local RMAN Repository of Eve?

    Q8. What is the most common way to schedule a RMAN backup to such an environment? example cron, planner of the OEM, DBMS_SCHEDULER? MY instinct is cron script as Planner OEM requires running the OEM service and DBMS_SCHEDULER requires the data runs?

    Any idea greatly appreciated,

    Jim

    The above only removes logs archiving to the primary or primary and Standby?

    When CONFIGURE you a deletion policy, the configuration applies to all destinations archive

    including the flash recovery area. BACKUP - ENTRY DELETE and DELETE - ARCHIVELOG obey this configuration, like the flash recovery area.

    You can also CONFIGURE an archived redo log political suppression that newspapers are eligible for deletion only after being applied to or transferred to database backup destinations.

    If deletions above archive logs on the primary, is it really remove them (immediately) or does the FRA to delete if space is needed?

    Its a configuration, it will not erase by itself.

    If you want to use FRA for the automatic removal of the archivelogs on a database of physical before you do this:

    1. make sure that DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST is set to FRA - view parameter DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST - and - setting DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST_SIZE

    2. do you have political RMAN primary and Standby set - CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY to APPLY ON ALL STANDBY;

    If you want to keep archives more you can control how long keep logs by adjusting the size of the FRA

    Great example:

    http://emrebaransel.blogspot.com/2009/03/delete-applied-archivelogs-on-standby.html

    All Oracle is worth a peek here:

    http://emrebaransel.blogspot.com/

    That what precedes, and once again it is something that you re primary side?

    I would never use it. I always had it put it this way:

    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY;

    I would use only 'BACKED UP' for the data protection system. Usually it tell oracle how many times to back up before removing.

    Why would I want my primary ro connect to the RMAN Repository?

    Because if you break down, you want to be able to backup there, too.

    Also if it remains idle for awhile you want.

    Should I only work with the RMAN Repository on the primary or should I be also in things in the deposits of RMAN (i.e. control files) of the standby?

    Always use a database of catalog RMAN with Data Guard.

    If I am (usually mounted but not open) Physics, of standby I able to connect to its own local repository for RMAN (i.e. control based on files) while sleep mode is just mounted?

    Same answer as 5, use a catalog database.

    Similiarly if I have an old lofgical (i.e. effectively read-only), to even connect to the local RMAN Repository of Eve?

    Same answer as 5, use a catalog database.

    What is the most common way to schedule a RMAN backup to such an environment? example cron, planner of the OEM, DBMS_SCHEDULER? MY instinct is cron script as Planner OEM requires running the OEM service and DBMS_SCHEDULER requires the data runs?

    I think cron is still, but they all work. I like cron because the database has a problem at work always reports its results.

    Best regards

    mseberg

    Summary

    Always use a database with RMAN catalog.

    Always use CRF with RMAN.

    Always set the deletion «To APPLY ON ALL STANDBY» policy

    DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST_SIZE determines how long to keep the archives with this configuration.

    Mahir statement applicable only for logical expectation , where mixed versions are supported with the compatible settings.

    Yes, there is writing:

    The COMPATIBLE database initialization parameter must be on the same value on all of the databases in a Data Guard configuration.
    unless you use a logical standby database, which can have a COMPATIBLE setting higher than the primary database.

    Why liked COMPATIBLE? IF you use the old version, and then apply SQL can not supports new features in the new version.

    Hmm, I mentioed mixed versions support compatible parameters, this does not mean that compaitblity version should be higher logical pending.
    We can have a more recent version of logical database with the same compatibility standbyd, as you may need it can work with 11.2.0.0.0 although if you use 11.2.0.3.0

    On seraching found the RDBMS COMPATIBLE parameter values must remain the same between primary and physical backup systems in detail you can check * 1265700.1*

  • Data Guard - allocation of licenses and other fundamental questions before setting it up.

    Hi all

    Please allow me to submit some questions about Oracle Data Guard.

    There are 2 databases 'authorized and ready ':

    -a single instance of the "alfa", Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2 database,

    -"bravo", Oracle 10.2 Enterprise Edition, Real Application Clusters database

    I have to "align" congratulations to alfa on a daily basis, so that--in case of failure of the main 'alfa' site - recovery is possible change to the site "bravo."

    (1) even if we can afford a loss of data corresponding to the period little uttered at the end of the last daily alignment (no need to 'transactional' alignment between the two databases), I assume that the best approach to meet this need in terms of efficiency and manageability consists on two databases including in a Data Guard configuration.

    Am I wrong?

    (2) in particular, the physical implementation of the standby database must be preferred over logic, because that "simpler and faster" in this case. Am I wrong?

    (3) only the Data Guard configuration require

    (a) additional licenses?

    (b) additional material/software resources for host machines?

    (5) the release of two databases must be equal to the specific to the component version number (10.2.0.1, for example)? Or, for example, is a 10.2.0.1 able to work with a 10.2.0.3 db db in the Data Guard configuration?

    Thank you very much in advance!

    You have reason, physical hosting it good thing. For the most part, you will get impact with until or unless data loss because of some problems of network (or a configuration problem)

    (2) in particular, the physical implementation of the standby database must be preferred over logic, because that "simpler and faster" in this case. Am I wrong?

    Logical standby is a little different from the physical standby mode

    Data features come with Enterprise Edition - perhaps for the active database "cost of the additional license.
