Data storage problems iOS iPhone 5s 9

Hello world

I got this really annoying bug for awhile now (a few months, but it is omnipresent in the last 3 weeks) where my iPhone simply does not know the amount of storage it a. I have a 5 iPhone with 16 GB of space running on iOS 9. Keep saying it is short of space, but every time I release some (by deleting the photos, applications, etc.) it keeps charging right back upward. This moment I had released up to 200 MB, 20 minutes, it's back to 0 without me getting it. As a result, the entire contents of my iCloud is either eliminated or is not editable from my iPhone (Notes, calendars, etc.) and most of my apps crash, don't work or outright any bug (Messages always appear as send when they have actually been sent, Facebook and Messenger keep crashing my games does not work, I can't take pictures) etc.). I guess that's the reaction natural iPhone to be low on storage space, but thing is that I was not filling up... took photos in nearly a month, etc. So before I go and do a hard restore and backup (iCloud is not backup up more--> whenever I have it try it just says: backup could not be completed), I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what could happen and what can I do to solve this problem. Look for me for a while now, and if it it does not work, I'm switching to Android, with this simpler operating system. So if anyone has any ideas, feel free to share.

Thank you!

Tristan

There are several reasons, this could happen - backup corrupt, rogue app, bad USB cable for syncing to iTunes, etc.  If you sync with iTunes, watch space 'other '.  If it is greater than about 2 GB, you can have one of these problems.  The common solution is:

Hello, I have storage problems with my iPhone 6. I have the 16 GB model and it seems to be showing me that I used more storage than I actually have. Under the management of storage in the settings section it says I used 11.6 GB and have 83.1 MB of available space. However when I add up the use of the storage for each application he ads only up to about 2.5 GB. In addition, on iTunes on my MacBook, it shows that I have 6.65 GB free. I tired delete apps and optimize Photos stroage and elimination of most local music from the phone. It was me that more sotrage space however when I checked later return that he had exhausted more storage without having downloaded me all the apps, photos, or music.

iTunes and iOS do not display the use of storage the same way. The best way to ensure that the iPhone is deleted unnecessary files, including video streaming, old app data, etc., is to perform a restore. Make sure that the backup you make in iTunes is encrypted, so all of your critical data is kept. Import all your photos, music, too.

  • iPhone storage problem 5

My settings of the iPhone 5 show that I use 4.7 GB of storage, but the storage area management presents a total of 1 GB in apps. I don't have very many apps... where's the rest of my storage? I can't download new applications.

Apps aren't the only thing that has a capacity of storage on the iPhone. When you check the storage settings, you look at the cold storage, or storage iCloud. They are in the same area. What is the capacity of your iPhone? IOS takes place on the device, as well as data and the documents from applications. If you connect the device to the computer and open iTunes, which shows in the summary at the bottom page?

Hello everyone. I noticed that although applications installed on my 16 GB Iphone 6 take less than 4 GB, there is only 4.5 GB left.

I cancelled all caches, but nothing has changed. What can I do?

Check your storage space on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - Apple Support

Use iTunes to check the storage on your iOS device

    1. Open iTunes on your computer.
    2. Connect your device to your computer.
    3. In iTunes, select your device. You will see a bar that shows how much storage your iOS content uses, divided by type of content.
    4. Hover your mouse over a type of content, as well as other applications, to find more information:

Here's a list of the types of content on your iOS device, and what each type includes:

    • Audio: Songs, audio podcasts, audio books, memos and ringtones
    • Video: Movies, music videos and TV shows
    • Photos: Camera Roll content, Stream Photo and picture library
    • Applications: Pre-installed Applications
    • Books: books, iBooks and PDF files
    • Documents and data: Safari offline reading, list files created in applications and content app like contacts, calendars, messages and emails (and attachments)
    • Other: Settings, Siri voice, data from the system and updated files cached

More info about updated files cached in the 'Other' storage of iOS

Cached files are created when the stream or watch content such as music, videos and photos. When listen you to music or video, the content is stored as cached files on your iOS device. class iTunes music cached, videos and photos than the others instead of real songs, videos or photos.

If amounts of storage on an iOS device are different from what you see reported in iTunes

Since iTunes categorizes the updated files in cache like other, reported for music or videos may use delay. To view its use on your iOS device, go to settings > general > use > storage management.

  • iPhone storage problems 6

In the last two days, I get alerts non-stop from my iPhone saying I don't have enough storage space.

My camera and WhatsApp are blocked

Even if I deleted a lot of apps, deleted all my photos (including the deleted items) and archived most of my conversations of WhatsApp.

I synced my iPhone and installed the new version of the software - so everything is clean and up-to-date

Always - the problem persists and there is storage problems.

Until two days ago, there was no problem and I got a lot of data on the phone - now I have half of the size of the data and the phone is full and stuck.

It seems a bug or something because it makes no sense... Two of my friends have the same problem!

What can I do and how can it be solved?

    Help, please!

  • problem on iPhone with gmail account - winmail.dat

    Hey,.

    I have iPhone 6s + upgrade 9.3.1 with a configured gmail account.

When I get my co-workers me sending the invitations to our exchange at work, attachment winmail.dat.

I asked them to send it to their iPhones gmail account - but they got it OK as one. The ICS file.

    Two important things I checked:
    1. I set up a Gmail to a friend in my iPhone and sent the invitation even exchange - it got it OK as an ICS file, I recived winmail.dat (on the same iPhone!)

    2. I have installed the Gmail application - in the app I receive the file of the invitaion as ICS - OK.

Anyone know the answer? Is there a setting on the account gmail or iPhone, that I missed?

    Thank you

    Meir.

    found the solution:

contact address was recorded in the global address list on the Exchange.

I asked the Manager to change a setting for the contact and it solved the problem.

in the Exchange - properties of the contact - theres a setting, you can change: change the rich text format - Auto/always/never.

We changed it to 'never' - and the problem solved :-)

    Nice day

  • Data storage 3.5 "Toshiba Canvio problem with permanent fade.

Since I started using the Toshiba Canvio 3 TB 3.5 "external data storige disc he found himself a strange faul which makes it difficult to use.

Data storage, for example when I use it to watch a video file off and then it start immediately again to go back... It can happen to the breast of a movie 20 times and it is very annoying because you never know when the judgment will happen...

    How to fix this please?

    Hello

In my opinion it is not very easy to say why the external HARD disk automatically turns off while watching a movie. But this issue does not seem that there might be something wrong with the settings or software.
Of course, some tools are available and installed on the HARD drive as the NTI Backup Now EZ software but I n t think that this could affect the playback of the movie. However, this software supports and automatic backup function and you can change how often your backup intervenes (hourly, daily, weekly, etc.). So try to disable this setting for testing purposes.

Fact is that this 3.5 HARD drive must be connected to a power adapter and HARD drive supports the USB 3.0 interface but it s backward compatible with USB 2.0.

I put t know what are the USB ports you have used for the connection of HARD drive, but I recommend you test all the USB ports taken in charge by the PC.

Last but not least, it could be possible that there is a hardware problem simple HARD drive

  • iPhone 6 How to erase pictures off bot phone not cloud... storage problem

How to delete all my photos my phone is turned off, but NOT out of the cloud... I have an iPhone 6 and have storage problems?

It's complicated because if you have iCloud photo library, then no matter what in iCloud will always be visible and taking place on your phone.

The best option is to choose the option 'OPTIMIZE the PHOTOS' in the settings Photos & the phone camera.

This will keep a smaller version of the photo on your phone with the full version on iCloud.

If you already have the option optimize running and you are still low on space, so the only thing to do is to delete some that are sitting in iCloud. It will then take even the version optimized on the phone.

  • Rejected... We found that your application does not follow guidelines iOS of data storage,

Where and how can I fix it?

We found that your application does not follow the guidelines data storage iOS , which is required by the App Store Review Guidelines .

In particular, we found that of the launch or download content, your application stores 3.54 MB. To check the amount of data is to store your application:

    -Install and run your application

-Go to settings > iCloud > storage and backup > storage management

-If necessary, press "view all applications.

-Control the storage of your application

The iOS data storage guidelines that only content that the user creates using your application, for example, documents, new files, changes, etc., must be backed up by iCloud.

Temporary files used by your application must only be stored in the directory/tmp. don't forget to delete the files stored in this location when the user quits the application.

Data that can be re-created, but must persist for proper functioning of your app - or because customers expect it to be available for offline use - must be marked with the "do not back upward" attribute. For NSURL objects, add the NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute to prevent the backup of the file. For CFURLRef objects, use the kCFURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute.

I have problem with storage on my Iphone 5 c. I know that ios app takes 3 gbs of him (8 GB of storage), but here's a thing. Arrival of the last update I had like 1.5 GB available. Now, I have this problem (using 4.62 GB) with app which all is 2gbslike

    Hello StereoBeatz96,

Please ask questions on your iPhone storage here in Apple Support communities. I understand how it is important to have space on my iPhone. I'll be happy to arrange things for you to check.

The first thing we want to make sure that all of your data on your device is safe. You can perform a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Once we know that your data is safe, please open this help article: how OS X and iOS report of storage capacity. He's going on how iOS reports the storage on your device. This second article of aid will help you check which is exactly using your data: check the storage on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Finally, you can use this help article to manually make space: If you need more space for an update of iOS. I know it says for an update, but the steps are the same, and information on specific apps that allow you to erase parts of the data, not requiring only not the whole application to remove all the relevant. With iOS 10 comes the new option to remove the built-in apps that you never use. See this help article: delete the apps Apple integrated from the home screen on your device iOS with iOS 10.

Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

  • How can I keep 'Other' small data storage?

I have a 6-16GB iPhone running on iOS 9.3.2.  A few months ago I started to run out of storage space, and I found it was used mainly by 'other' data upward.  I tried many, MANY tips given here and on other sites, in order to reduce others' my data, to the point of finally breaking and restore my iPhone to factory settings, then individually re-download my mail, applications, photos, etc. Mac support.  Initially, this great worked, now here we are a few months later, and my 'other' is back up to 7GB. I am so frustrated, that I do not understand why my 'other' data are so large. I thought by loading everything individually instead of simply to restore a backup, I would have managed to get rid of the corrupt files, etc. It is not possible to have to restore my phone settings whenever this happens, I need a more permanent solution to keep this 'other' data in check.  Any suggestions?

You are right. Restaurant as new every time is not the way to handle this. I suspect that one of your applications creates the issue but identifying that one would be difficult, likely error. 7 GB of others is much too large, I tend to run about 1 or 2 GB maximum. These articles can help, but like I said, I think the problem is with a single application.

You can not. However, I'm not sure why you think it's a privacy or security threat. The only thing that can be accessed without unlocking the phone is the camera to take pictures. No one can access your data already on the phone.
