  Hi, I'm using Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.

  I use Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.0.

  In SQL Developer, the connection is established and is successfully tested, but when I click on connect, I get the error:

  Yesterday I could connect fine, but today I got this error.

  Developer SQL resides on the same system as Oracle DB.

  What has changed is that I placed the files ojdbc6.jar and ojdbc14.jar is in F:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_45\jre\lib\ext and F:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_45\lib\ext because I work with a Web site of jsp that access the oracle database.

  The problem is that ojdbc14.jar is is for Oracle Database 10g Release 2 and I work with is 11g, so I left the ojdbc6.jar in both paths and now Developer SQL works, thank you very much!

  I am about to install 11 g on OLE5, before installation, that I need to install some packages prerequisites for the installation of the version of said database. During my installation of packages, I fall on a package and my error is the following,

  It's a single guests during my installation of "kernel-headers" - 2.6.18 - 238.el5.i386 I see it's a conflict of a package to a certain file that is already installed.
  
  What could be the reason and what can do this error/conflict?

  Can you please tell us what operating system you are using.

  Unzip you the 2 files in a single folder. The error you see is a common one when you do not unzip 2 zip files downloaded in a single folder.

  Hi, I have the same problem on CentOS 6. It won't work even if I failed to provide the email. It came with and error dialog box. What should I do?

  CentOS is also not a supported OS - certified OS versions are included in the available at http://docs.oracle.com Installation Guide

• Oracle 11 g database release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit)

  I downloaded Oracle 11 g release2, for the first time on my laptop, but before, I worked on the MySql database and oracle 10g too but they are uninstalled now. The problem is: it won't as I saw in the installation video. On my system, it requires a proxy server, by displaying a dialog box "connection failed." I doubt the second file I downloaded is not get extracted to the same folder. But I'm not sure if that was the problem, it (setup) would have even started or not? then I clicked on Setup and command line prompt appeared.

  Then he asked to enter the email address.

  and now comes the real problem, where it shows the dialog box 'connection failed', asking for the proxy server, the proxy, proxy user name, password for proxy port. I don't know what values to fill in these columns.

Second, do not use names of directory with spaces in them (for example ' Oracle 11 g release 2') during the installation process. Thirdly, make sure that you unzip both zip installation files in a single directory. Fourth, many problems have been reported on Windows when the option to install the software but also to set up as a database were selected. People have reported success in just install the software first, and then creating the database separately, either manually or using DBCA (see docs for details on how to use DBCA)

  If you want to create or configure Enterprise Manager console, follow these steps:

  • Set ORACLE_HOME environment variable
  • Set ORACLE_SID
  • ORACLE_HOSTNAME environment variable set. Use the same value returned by the command "hostname".
  • Run the emca (Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant).

  $ emca - create config dbcontrol db-rest

  • Follow the instructions.

  In my view, there is some lack of communication happening. 10.2.0.4 OWB can be used with Oracle 10.2.0.5.
  We even had OWB 10.2.0.5 running against Oracle 10.2.0.5

  According to me, that there are some bad this info in the patch readme file. OWB 10.2.0.4 includes support for Oracle database 11g (as a Source). This is a major change incorporated in this version.
