Database capacity CONFUSED (dazed n!)

I thought I had it sussed out. Apparently not? Appears on these pages popular belief is the ability of the database was recently increased to 8000 songs or files after recent updates of firmware and device format and reload is required to take advantage of this. WELL, take a looksee at the Tech support response just to put the cat among the pigeons. Any1 know definatively what the hell is happening?

I suggest you read THIS. Obviously, the person who sent you is somewhat con-"rocket" d about the device. I had one for a year, so I remember when the update happened very clearly. The truth is, the firmware.26 adds the "rocket", and then, and then the database will support 8000 songs, assuming that the total size of these songs does not exceed the amount of available memory.

  • name of database name - confused Server vs

    Hi all
    I am looking at the API OracleDataSource, what say the docs:

    databaseName, string name of the particular database on the server. Also known as the SID in the Oracle terminology.

    Servername String the name of the database server

    I know the databaseName and can also find using select name from v$ database;

    But how to find the name of the server? Any file or command that can be used to find this info?

    Thanks in advance

    The server name is the name of the area where your database resides. You can ask your Sysdba to give you that. IF you are on the same square, servername can be replaced with localhost.

  • UCCX 8.5.1 SU4 NFR kit allow the use of SQL database

    I'm running UCCX 8.5.1 SU4 thanks to the NFR UC 8 kit for my laboratory training and cannot create a DSN to a MSSQL Server. When I go to

    Subsystem | Database | DataSource

    and then click Add, the driver dialog box is grayed out and will not be open to select a jdbc driver. When I go to UCCX Serviciability, Control Center Network Services, and then expand engine UCCX then manager subsystem, the subsystem of the database is status "not configured" and did not start.

    I thought that the kit NFR providing the premium license would allow database capacity, which escapes me?

    Thanks, Jeff

    DB subsystem requires premium.  And I think that the NFR kit is premium.  Double you can check your license under system > AppAdmin license?

    Also, you acually don't have download a JDBC for UCCX driver?  If you do not, then it is probably your problem.  UCCX comes with zero drivers installed, and you will need to search the Internet for one.  Most people end up using it for MS SQL:

    Yes. You are right. import and export will be the best option.

    What I set out in my previous post... are correct...?

    1 install the software of 10 g (on the same server or another server B).

    2. download the group under the 10 g ORACLE_HOME 10.2.0.4 patches and unzip this group of patches in some way as $ORACLE_HOME/patch/100.

    3. apply this patch by using the opatch utility. To do this go in $ORACLE_HOME/patch/100/opatch apply.

    or using YES... ?

    This is to be YES because it's the Group of hotfixes, and cannot be applied with opatch.
    Invoke runinstaller from the patch directory.
    Also refer to the readme file for the complete procedure that comes with the patch.

    >

    4. now, level database by usgin DBUA... In this way to give Oracle 10 g $ORACLE_HOME / and give the name of the database.

    It is not necessary that you use export/import.

  • CD/DVD drive does not work - error code 39 on Satellite A300

    Good evening.
    I have a problem with my Satellite A300.
    I can't get the drive to function.

    Device Manager indicates that the driver is current. But also says that it is corrupted "code 39".
    I tried to download the new Toshibas website drivers but they are all come as code 39 cannot install. First, I noticed that it was last night when I was installing Norton 360. I got the cd it worked once then nothing.

    Anyone ran across this before?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

    I had the same problem and I found a solution here in the forum.
    The problem is that your Windows registry database is confused upward.

    You must first access the Device Manager and should remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices.
    Second, he must start the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Finally, restart the laptop and test the CD/DVD drive again!

    Good bye

    Maybe you all could offer a few suggestions here.  We have a PC on the desktop (wired) which continues to work great.  However, we have a new MacBook that ~ has ~ work (though a bit weakly) on the next desk over (wireless, of course.)

    Since last week, we get NO signal for the MacBook.

  • When the memory coherence is full, what consistency do?

    Dear Expert:

    I have a problem in customer, they ask:
    When the memory coherence is full, what consistency do?
    He takes care to write data or the entry on the disk?
    If it can be supported, how can I config?

    I read some documents, but I find things like this:
    < local plan >
    LRU <-eviction strategy > < / eviction strategy >
    < high-units > 1000 < / high units >
    < expiry delay > 1 h < / timeout >
    < / local plan >

    but I can not find somethings on the coherence jvm memory usage?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    There is no magic solution to stop short of memory coherence. A cluster of coherence is a limited resource and has a finite size and you need to do some sort of exercise as you would with something like a database capacity planning system. You wouldn't continue to put data in a database without him running out of resources, and the same is true with consistency.

    Yes, there are things like expiry which allows you to limit the size of the caches, but like the previous poster said, when the limit is reached data will be evicted from memory. Unless you have some form of persistent storage for these data using something like a dumps, while the data is lost.

    You can set the overflow to disk so that when a size the cache limit is reached as described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15357_01/coh.360/e15723/cache_examples.htm#BACCHCIA

    The problem with the ousting of size based and exceeded the size in function, is that the limit is per cache per JVM. This means that for a system with several caches and services that you usually end up expulsion or overflow to disk for a cache that reached its limit when there still may be a lot of memory left that you need to allow for each cache being full in your design.

    I saw people in the past are trying to find different ways of ousting of data based on the used JVM heap, but they never seem to be satisfactory. If you've seen a chart of the JVM heap usage you will see that it is usually a model of Sawtooth constantly up and down. A JVM could hit 90% use but still have a lot of real space because he had not recently made a GC. If you have a schema data eveicted when the reached JVM say 90% you could start to expel the data too early. Also, it's probably enough data in a cluster push possile faster than data can be evicted if you might still run out of memory. A cluster of coherence consists of multiple JVM processes and if you get skewed the disaggregation of data or you caching of objects of different sizes, it is quite possible to get Java virtual machines in the cluster running off lot well before others. The project I'm working on that, we had a situation where we had a few nodes in the cluster using more than 300 MB of heap more than the other nodes in the cluster - is quite a big difference when the total heap was only 2.5 GB.

    As I said the best thing to do is good capacity planning. Work out how much you need to organize and work on the size of your cluster based on that data. You probably still have some sort of eviction of the data well. The system on which I work at eviction of the moment according to some data and custom eviction of other data based on business rules. Custom eviction is juats another process that verifies the data and expels the relevant stuff.

    Thank you
    Wally

    Hi Wally,

    The SEND() function may take varchar2s or CLOB to p_body and p_html_body. In your code, you declare l_body_html as a CLOB, but assigning a string. It is possible that the database is confused?

    Try to use TO_CLOB ('...') to set the value of l_body_html

  • Confused about the capacity of the HARD drive on my new Equium L350

    I'm rather confused (normal state) about the capacity of my hard disk. This is supposed to be 120 GB but... On 'My computer', it shows that I have 23 GB of 55.7 left GB on Vista C and 49.8 54.5 on E of data that is delivered to about 110 GB.

    I'm already about 10 GB missing but maybe that is taken up with hidden files. More worrying is that I have so little space on Vista C. Can I save files on the data partition, or is that a no-no? So far, everything I've loaded on it goes into Vista C.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    I agree with InvaderZim.

    But there should also be another reason why the two partitions of HARD drive are smaller than the whole HARD disk.

    I assume you are using the Vista operating system.
    Vista uses hidden for some files from recovery partition.
    If you check the Disk Manager, and you should see all available on your HARD disk partitions.

  • database of songs vs clarification of usable storage capacity

    Any new rocket today. My 2 year old Toshiba Gigabeat is dead - like, but the battery capacity was pitiful. Have a Shure headphones and look forward to this player.

    I read a few posts on storage and this issue has been raised.

    Question: A poster wrote that Sansa Fuze has capacity of 4000 songs "database".   Database suggests to me that the "brain" can manage, sort, file, bookmark, select and play, etc. up to 4000 entries (songs).   How is it that is related to internal vs storage card Micro SD?

    I took a Spanish course at GB 5.4 on internal memory and are planning to buy an SD card for storing music and photos added.  I can get up to a 16 GB card, but need to know if this problem of 'database' limit how much storage can be used.  If Yes, I'll get get a 4 or 8, because adults are not cheap.

    Thank you for your patience and know how.

    Rick W.

    Salem, Oregon

    Will be difficult to surpass the 4000 songs at bitrates > 128 K and the next firmware will increase the limit.

    The maximum number of songs taken currently supported 4000.

    New firmware is due to this quarter.

  • Is it possible to move a Capacity Planner database between partners VMware ID?

    Hello

    I have an installation Capacity Planner, set up by a former partner of VMWare. It is still running and configured to do pretty much what I want to do, so I no need to remove and re-create it. I can not just to create a new company in my dash then stick the database id, he complains as being 'already possessed.

    Can anyone provide a solution to this?

    Mike

    My understanding is no, you can't, you can offer to do the CP using your dashboard of the companies. You can try asking the other company to create an account in this corporate ID and allow you to have access to the data in this way.

    It might also be possible to get the original CP partner to disconnect the collector (ID) and provide you with the collector ID to attach to your new ID of company in your dashboard - never tried so I don't know if it's possible. Most partners are not too to give they collected data of another competitor, so I would not take on a lot of luck of what happens even if it were possible.

    Adam

    Hi Adam

    AS 10.1.2.0.2 comes with a default infra-DB version 10.1.0.4. You can get DB 10.1.0.5 by updating this DB. To do this, you follow the Group of hotfixes DB whose full name is the following:

    Patch database Oracle® defined Notes
    * 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.5) Patch Set * for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
    (choose your platform ;)

    This patch Set is same as you see on the AS 10.1.2.3 Patch Set 3 documentation update.
    She says she can apply to the following:

    "You can apply the patch to version 10.1.0.5 Oracle Database 10g on Oracle Database 10g release 1 (10.1.0.2, 10.1.0.3 or 10.1.0.4) following facilities:
    * Oracle database
    * Oracle Real Application Clusters
    * Oracle database Client
    * Oracle database companion CD
    * Oracle Cluster Ready Services
    "

    If the version of your DB infrastructure is already 10.1.0.5, then,.
    -you meet the requirements of AS 10123 Patch Set 3 on your infra-DB.
    -In addition, you can see that the above DB Patch Set Rel 1 is not applicable to your DB.

    I don't know who is this 34 Patch Set that you downloaded. You know his full name or include its patch number?
    I don't think that you need for your upgrade from ACE for the reasons mentioned above.

    I hope that would clarify some of your doubts.
    Kind regards
    AMN
