  I installed Oracle RAC on RHEL 6.4 11.2.0.3. While installing an Oracle database, I chose the Standard edition, but after when logged into SQL Prompt, he showed me the 'Enterprise Edition'. I'm really confused and really not get what was not in it.

  You can grep the db_InstallType of globalvariables.xml to find grid or Database edition binary as shown in the example below.

  It seems they have changed the way search works after the update. You can always edit contacts by opening the Contacts app, then open the contact you want to change. We do not know why they made the change, but unfortunately it is out of our reach. I don't know that they had a reason for this. If this is not the case, they will probably patch in an another mini update.

  Aries is perhaps not the biggest problem.  WIn7 needs 256 MB of ram to run aero. You can run it in basic, but with 960 ram it will be slow.  If you use it just for browsing and e-mail, it might be tolerable.

  As far as I KNOW only Oracle db supports the database change Notification.

  I have a LDSM which uses the Oracle 32-bit server. Currently, there are 40 + GB of data files. While listening to the database server, I realized the number of hit > 80 processes leading to deteriorated performance of my COTS product browsing. People have recommended to increase SGA and PGA, it seems preferable.
  I was wondering, how many datafiles can a 32-bit database handle? Cause the max memory I can attribute to a 32-bit server is only 4 GB

  Old O/s. Under Windows, Oracle uses the standard Win32 thread model. Instance of Oracle database so all the "processes" (which would be physical process on a Linux/Unix kernel images), will be a thread in the image of the oracle.exe process.

  By default of a Win32 thread stack size is 1 MB (depending on the stack size of the Thread (Windows)). I heard the mention oracle.exe process sets the size of the stack to 2 MB.

  Whatever it is - each wire means a memory footprint. 80 user (dedicated server) sessions means 160 MB of memory is required (assuming that the 2 MB per thread stack). That's 4% of available RAM.

  If memory 32-bit architecture does not fit in this case.

  An alternative is to service 80 sessions of user using (for example) 10 shared server process. These 10 sons of reduce memory footprint. However, can only run 10 simultaneous clients both requests. Fine for 80 customers, sending small applications (OLTP) - issues for 80 customers delivering complex applications (of type OLAP).

  Why using 32-bit, that is the question that I asked, but this server have been around for a few years, so don't know is not the exact reason.

  You should also ask why Windows? And why not Linux?

  Personal experience - Linux is not much cheaper ito TCO, it is also a database of very robust sever o/s for Oracle.

  If this is a related issue of license then better check with the sales representative in your area. Oracle sales team can only confirm the details.

  As far as I know if a product is delivered in another product then product main price includes the price of the licenses for all.

  Example: OEM license purchase, will include the license for Weblogic.

  Here's the scenario, we have an existing demo Oracle 9.2 database on Solaris 5.9 server. Asked me this transfer to another server with the same OS but with installed Oracle 10g software. The original plan was to mount the exisiting Oracle home of the original server to the new server and copy there all the databases files and set up the database.
  
  Here are the steps:
  -Issue a statement "controlfile alter trace database backup", download the script of the trace file
  -Copy all database files to the new server
  -Change the settings files
  -Make a startup mount recreate control files, data recovery and startup of the database on the new server.
  
  I suggested that we to a tablespace of transport but cause limited resources and that the 9.2 database doesn't have this feature, we cannot carry out this process. Also, I can't make an exp/imp of the database as we really have little resources on a disc. I was wondering if the steps I listed above are correct? Or would result in an error?

  All the oracle 10g is under extended support, version 10g XE was torn off in the download pages at any time 10g has been extended.

  Will probably not be able to get a download of any place under oracle.com, but it could be a few sites still harboring. Try google.
