Database Oracle EPM system

Hello

The COnfiguration of Hyperion to oracle database character for Hyperion 11 sets: • AL32UTF8 (encoding UTF-8 to ASCII platforms) • UTF8 (coding for Oracle backward compatible) • UTFE (encoding UTF-8 for the EBCDIC platforms) is required to answer this with the database configuration conditions. Can we have more about considerations when creating database NLS_CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1 NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET AL16UTF16 NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS., when the database was created. is that it creates no problem setting up database. Please notify.

As long as you follow what is defined in the documentation you will be ok:

Considerations for creating Oracle database

The database must be created using Unicode Transformation Format UTF-8 encoding (character set). Oracle supports the following character with the UTF-8 encoding sets:

  • AL32UTF8 (UTF-8 encoding for ASCII platforms)
  • UTF8 (backward compatible coding for Oracle)
  • UTFE (encoding UTF-8 for the EBCDIC platforms)

  • How do I uninstall the product from the Oracle EPM system

    Hi all

y at - there no way how to uninstall a product of the Oracle EPM system?

I don't want to uninstall the entire system and install again, I want to just uninstall the specific product.

    BR

    Vladislav

OK, you can safely remove the service once the components have been uninstalled.

Let me know which are the components you want to uninstall.

    To check the inventory:

Go to the directory OPATCH. This gives the entire list.

    lsinventory-detail opatch - oh -jre

    Ex: opatch lsinventory-detail - oh D:/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/jre-D:, Oracle, Middleware, jdk160_45

If you want to make sure that applications are not anywhere, you can also check in the following locations

    1. connect to the Weblogic administration Console, http://servername:7001 / console. Confirm if the managed server is removed by going to the servers

2 EMP registry report (usually E:/Oracle/Middleware/userprojects/epmsystem1/bin/epmregistry.bat)

    3. Windows registry

  • EPMA Configure Database cause EPM System Configurator Crash

It is an EMP 11.1.2.2 distributed environment on Windows 2008 R2 system patched to 300 for all installed products. The system worked all fine until the DBA required to change the passwords for security reasons.

The passwords for the Weblogic administrator, the repository of databases has changed. We went through the system configurations and changed all the passwords in all the right places and everything works, except for the Dimension EMP architect server. All other product launch and we can identify you and use them.

For the server architect EMP Dimension, we are unable to update the password for the database. In the EPM system configurator, when we choose to "Set up the data base" for EMP architect, we enter the connection information and click Next and the utility workers indicating an application error.

The only mistake anywhere is in the configtool.log file which simply says:

We the ODAC uninstalled and reinstalled, but it has not made a difference. The user schema is not locked (confirmed through sql, as well as on the same machine as EPMA).
Not updated in the product of the EMP password, because if we try to start the server of EPMA, it fails stating that the name of username/password is not valid.

Guidance will be helpful, because at this point, the EPM architect is unusable.

    Thank you

The reason is that the Oracle patch broke the jar AWBConfig.jar located
    d:\oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Foundation\BPMA\Common

There are missing classes in the patched version, latest of this pot

To correct the configuration tool, you can make a copy of that existing pot and replace the old version uncorrected. To find the old version research
    \oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\.patch_storage\ to AwbConfig.jar

To confirm this, look at the size of the current pot and the oldest pot - the news is 158 k and the former was 317 k - obviously a new miss some classes.

Once you are done with the config tool put a "newer" back

  • End of life for oracle EPM system

    Hi guys,.

Someone asked me a strange question.

They asked if there is a technical end of life/support for the EPM (particularly 11.1.2.1) of oracle system.

I've never met any specific documentation regarding this. Someone else?

  • Cannot connect to the database Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.2

    Hello!
I'm deployment Hyperion EPM 11.1.2 on a single machine with Windows 2008 R2 x 64. I created an Oracle database, and I can connect to it through SQL, so everything looks ok here. I also installed the Oracle Client for Win x 64 and ODP on my machine. The installation of Hyperion EPM also completed successfully, and then I went to set it up. I have entered the database connection information:

    Driver database: Oracle (thin)
Server: the IP address of the machine >
    Port: 1521
The service name or SID: < my Oracle database name >
Username: Oracle user with the role of s/n >
Password: < password of the Oracle user >

And then I click on 'Next' and I get the error message: + "" i/o error: the network adapter could not establish the connection "+"

I would point out that I also had a problem connecting to the Oracle SQL Plus error first database: "ORA - 12560:TNS:protocol adapter error. But after the creation of the ORACLE_SID environment variable by assigning the name of the database, this error disappeared.

Please help with any advice on what could be bad! Thank you!

If you use 'localhost' or 127.0.0.1 during the configuration of the database not the real IP address

  • Oracle EPM rel. 11.1.1.2 system - Assign Essbase filter shared services

    Hello

I set a filter Essbase and created a user with access filter in Shared Services.
Now, I want to assign the Essbase filter that is created for the user.

If I call the menu item 'Open' on a group of Shared Services applications I get an empty window.
If I call the menu item "Assign Access Control" for the Essbase Application I get an error message (web page cannot be opened).

    Can anyone help?

    OS: windows
    Internet Explorer: Version 7
    Java: Build 1.6.0_12 - b04
    EPM system: 11.1.1.2

    Best regards
    Nicole

    Hello

    Disconnect from shared Services
Go to PARTY, select one of the application, with which you have a problem, start the the right click 'register '.
Connect to Shared Services, now the "assign access control" should work for the application.

    Ok?

    Hello

    It should work without problem.

According to the following document, you should have the kernel version 2.6.18 - 8 or higher.

  • Database Oracle from Windows to Linux migration

    Hey guys,.

I'm database oracle 11g R2 in Windows 7 migration to Red hat 5 (64-bit) Linux using RMAN by transport.sql file. I installed Oracle 11 g R2 on the two system.

But the problem is that my data files are scattered in different locations (I mean that all are not in the same directory) and I did not have enough space to all copy in the same directory. Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to write several locations as value the NAME of FILE DB CONVERT parameter when creating transport using RMAN script, I know the command for a directory only.

RMAN > Convert the new database database linuxdb

    script of transport for "C:\test\transport.sql."

    db_file_name_convert 'C:\oracle\oradata\orcl\' "C:\test".

    the platform "Linux IA < 32 bit >";

This command allows to convert all the files in the database that resides in the orcl directory and place them in the test directory. But in my case, all the files are not in the directory orcl

and I can't copy other files in there because I don't have enough space on the entire system.

I can't create transport script several times because it is incorrect.

I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

You can specify as many pairs of directories as needed

    db_file_name_convert = ('/ u01/ora/files ' ' / u02/ora/files ' ' / u01/ora/file9 ' ' / u02/ora/file9 ')

  • Problems starting 10.2.0.1 database under Windows (system breaks down)

Work with a client and that they should start and stop where the database several times. Now, I can start Oracle service but when I try to start the database of the system, it blocks and that's the last thing in the alerts log.

Mount of redo thread 1, with mount id 1863427492
    Thu Jun 28 17:47:20 2012
    Database mounted in exclusive Mode
    Completed: ALTER DATABASE MOUNT
    Thu Jun 28 17:47:21 2012
    ALTER DATABASE OPEN
    Thu Jun 28 17:47:22 2012
Beginning of thread 1 crash recovery

Is there a setting or size of something that is too small? Although it is early crash recovery it blocks the entire system. Is trying to use too many resources, that's why it crashes? If anyone has had experience with this, let me know. Thank you all

  • Work with EPM system Workspace

    Hello

I would use the EPM system to its full potential, while I was trying to see if it was possible to open Excel and Access files within a content window / tab.

I tried to import an Access file and he told me that I needed to create a new MIME type. I have skiped who moved to Excel to test. I imported the excel file into a folder where start with content.htm sample is no problem, added to Favorites and tried to open it but turned excel does not and it did not open within the area of the workspace.

Anyway is there a documentation / blog that you can recommend me to explore the workspace, options and create a portal for end-users to collaborate?

    Thank you

  • Oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 monitoring tools

    Gurus,

could you please let me know what are the available system monitoring or performance monitoring tools for oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 or where are involved licenses and what are the best areas for manual procedures monitor the system?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Surveillance is a general term. There are many 3rd party available tools that can provide surveillance, all depends on what exactly you are looking for.

Oracle has a document on the implementation of Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor the Hyperion Applications: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/sys9-oem-integration-1-129287.pdf. Analysis of the performance, you can also watch this: https://blogs.oracle.com/pa/entry/epm_11_1_2_how3. This will basically connect to the JRockit JVM and study the performance of the web application.

If you want to do more surveillance (services, servers, CPU, processor), you can watch in Hyperic HQ: http://www.hyperic.com/. They have a version open source and Enterprise version. I used the version open source myself and it is pretty well and plays well with Windows. You can see several metrics, charts and information via the web-based application. You can also configure alerts email on certain activities (stop, start the service) and also monitor the availability of the Web site. To be a software open source, I think it offers a lot and it is very reliable.

Again, here's a few suggestions. There are many tools out there that can accomplish what you're looking for.

    Kind regards

    Luis

  • Cannot access the tables in other patterns of database Oracle

Hello. We got our Oracle database administrator to install APEX in our Oracle database. She created a login and a schematic for my Oracle database user so that I can work with APEX a bit. Here is the information about the version of the SUMMIT we installed:

Information about the Version of database
    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64 bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
    CORE Production 11.2.0.2.0
    AMT for IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production

I found that my user can access the Oracle tables within my own diagram of Oracle database. Most of our main tables are in 3 other schemas and I need access to all the tables of all these schemes. Now, whenever I meet a drop-down list of values for the schema, by own schema is available in the list of values.

Is there something that our Admin can do to make these tables in other patterns available on my user account?

    Sharpe,

This documentation should point you in the right direction. It will show you how to add multiple schemas to a workspace.

I'm installing 11.1.1.1 EPM system and that you have already installed WebLogic Server 10.3, which seems to be the Oracle AS 10gR 3 GPE 11.1.1.1-compatible server.

However, I get the following error:
The specified location is a directory of Oracle AS 10 g 3 invalid. Specify a valid location.

11.1.1.1 EPM system is compatible with WebLogic Server 10.3?
Y at - it a 10gR 3 Oracle AS different I should use? If Yes, where can I get it?

    Thank you

    Hello

I don't think that it is officially supported for 11.1.1.1.
    Take a look on:-http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_install_start_here_11111/ch04s03s01.html
It lists the supported web application servers.

  • Identity columns were kidnapped in the database Oracle 12 c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64 bit?

    Hey all,.

I am able to create the following table in my environment. However, in our QA environment, it fails with the following error:

    Error report:

    SQL error: ORA-02000: missing (keyword

    02000 00000 - "missing %s keyword."

Originally, we got the error described in this stack overflow thread until I changed:

    GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS IDENTITY

    TO:

    PRODUCT ALWAYS AS IDENTITY

Here is the code and specifications:

    Table:

    CREATE TABLE table1)

NUMBER (10) ID GENERATED ALWAYS AS IDENTITY

    );

    Environment:

    Database Oracle 12 c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production

    PL/SQL Release 12.1.0.1.0 - Production

    CORE Production 12.1.0.1.0

AMT for 64-bit Windows: Version 12.1.0.1.0 - Production

    NLSRTL Version 12.1.0.1.0 - Production

QA environment: (this returns the error)

    Database Oracle 12 c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64 bit Production 0

    PL/SQL Release 12.1.0.2.0 - Production 0

    AMT for 64-bit Windows: Version 12.1.0.2.0 - Production 0

    NLSRTL Version 12.1.0.2.0 - Production 0

It works for me!  You specify "GENERATES DEFAULT ON NULL AS IDENTITY?

    CREATE TABLE table1)

NUMBER (10) ID GENERATED BY DEFAULT TO NULL AS IDENTITY

    );

    Table created.

    Select * from product_component_version;
