Database service

Hello

I created a database using DBMS_SERVICE basic service. CREATE_SERVICE.

The environment is a very basic 11.2.0.3.6 single-instance database running on Linux. There is no Infrastructure of grid not installed so no Oracle Restart or using srvctl to create, start, and stop services. It's just an installation single instance RDBMS software and a database.

My question is how do the database service start to restart the database?

DBMS_SERVICE. START_SERVICE ('serv_name'); of course, works and if I run this command, I can see that the service appears as registered with the LISTENER.

After I start the database that I have to run the DBMS_SERVICE. START_SERVICE manually despite service in the SERVICE_NAME and DBA_SERVICES setting.

I have to use a trigger to start to start the service at the start of the database? How are user created services that are started automatically in a database to single instance in the absence of grid Infrastructure?

Any input appreciated, thank you.

Hello

You can use a simple trigger to start the service.

create or replace trigger serv_trigger

AFTER THE START WE DATABASE

BEGIN

DBMS_SERVICE. START_SERVICE ('serv_name');

END;

Just an FYI, in case you decide to use srvctl - add/edit services with srvctl as changes with DBMS_SERVICE will be always lost unless they are also made with the corresponding srvctl command. Attribute of service changes will take effect immediately starting with 11.2.0.2 when the service is started or changed by srvctl.

Kind regards

Suntrupth

  • ERPI adapter - eRPI configuration database Service name

    Hello all-

    We do a first installation on a new 11.1.2.1 eRPI planning environment. We have eRPI pull EBS data successfully, but the stage of importation of FDM gives an error: "error of creation of the database link. Import using the FDM adapter and format linked to this format to import was created at the location of the FDM.

    We followed PowerPoint presentations on the website of Oracle created by Mr. Paffhausen during the configuration of the eRPI, as well as the Readme file for the adapter. When we set up the adapter, a field that I wasn't sure was "eRPI database Service name". We went with put the server name that is on the database of the eRPI. Is this correct? I want to rule out this possibility before going down other paths.

    Thanks for any help in advance.

  • Charge of monitoring database service.

    Hello

    I'm working on a cluster of CARS of 7 knots (11.2.0.3 on RHEL 6.4 x86_64) who has a services 50 + registered what companies use different applications to connect to the database.

    Can someone suggest a method to establish which of these services are the most frequent and most generate load on their respective authorities?

    I would like to be able to distribute services between available instances so that the busiest services do not come into conflict with each other on an instance.

    Is it possible to readily identified what are the first services of number of connections and the workload performed?

    Thanks in advance,

    In Enterprise Manager, I select the database of interest and then go on the Performance page. The second table contains a tab named Services. If you click on it, you can see the load broken down by service name.

    You can get a count of sessions by a query similar to the following:

    Select service_name, inst_id, count (*) as num_connections

    GV $ session

    Service_name group, select INST_ID

    order by service_name, INST_ID select;

    See you soon,.

  • Database Service account

    Hi guys,.

    Database Version: 11g

    Platform - Windows server 2008

    Just one question, if I want to run my db (defined in services.msc) services as a domain account, done it requires local administrator rights?...

    Thank you

    Try to start the Windows Service for the Oracle instance with the same credentials of the user that the database has been installed. In general, user Oracle is part of the DBA group at the level of the Windows operating system and is also given Admin rights. Without the appropriate rights, you will not be able to start the instance and could also get errors in the Alert.log

    Also, make sure that you give the same credentials for the Windows Listener (tnslsnr) service too, otherwise you'll find yourself not able to connect connections remotely (like the tnslsnr did not have the rights for the Oracle executable) and no concrete in listener.log errors

    Thank you

  • Question - Oracle database service

    All,

    I have a service I build made of 40 or hosts and an oracle backend that supports. Done enough is consolidate all alarms model host etc. but it is not put in oracle service alarms? Although it brings the underlying operating system (solaris) int alarms. But I do not receive stuff oracle 10g.

    Any idea where I could have gone wrong?

    I have added the database by adding a component as a general rule, selected database > oracle > reports > instances and typed in a search for the name of the database. Hit test and see. Tap Finish.

    Hi try oracle_clusters_data and oracle_agent_model (for ease of use), you can find it under managementserver. database-oracle-> reports >->... is not the correct link.

    Hello

    you kill the instance or has he stopped?

    If you stop it then it is planned. You must move the service first.

    If the instance is aborted abnormally (or the server is killed) it should failover.
