The Toolbox of data base is provided with LabVIEW Professional and development Suites. It is an add-on for LabVIEW Basic and LabVIEW edition complete.

  • [Database Toolbox] possibility to Load From xml file in Labview and then in the database

Before you write in my database, I want to save it and reload if the user wants to cancel the new charge that can last several minutes.

If he cancels the load I get back my previous database data.

I managed to save my database in XML through the "DB tools SaveRecordSet To File" VI. This VI records directly contains my database table in the xml file. And finally, I only if the other VI to load file will do the same thing, means load the file and save it in my database but it gives just a recordset in labview.

Question: is it possible just to load the xml file into the database directly through Labview?

Why, finally, these screws do not have the same behavior?

I don't know, but I just thought I would chime, that if you fail to do with LabvIEW, you might want to look by making your writing in a 'Transaction' database, if your DBM takes in charge (most except MS Access)

  • Leaks memory database Toolbox

I have leaks memory in my Labview application linking and insertion of data in a Server MSSQL using Labview Database Toolkit.

    Versions: Labview 7.1, Toolkit 1.0.1.

I searched the forums and searhed all over elsewhere... In my view, that there are some problems. (For example the list tables vi). Removal from the list of tables vi helped a lot. But I see that I'm losing memory here and there, from time to time.

My question is: Y at - he of the General guidelines to avoid any leaks memory mentioned?

Or maybe, all that will disappear if I update versions. (If I understand correctly I've also updated of Labview to be able to update the Toolbox?)

    Best regards

    / Jesper

There is a small amount of memory allocated whenever you make an 'open '. If you open repetedly who could explaing a small slow leak. The workaround is to open once and re - use ref. Closed only when you encounter an error or are done.

  • Using a neural network with box Toolbox MATLAB in LabView?

I would like to know how to train a neural network in Matlab and use it in Labview? I know I should be using the MathScript, but as I do once the network formed in matlab is a dull file?

    Hi GringoButzlaff1,

Well, it's not all MATLAB code/script that can run in LabVIEW using MathScript.

If there is a function of IP (intellectual property) in the code, that is, any Toolbox MATLAB functions, you won't be able to execute it using the MathScript.

In fact, you must call the MATLAB script node in your code. This node calls the script software MATLAB server to run scripts written in MATLAB language syntax and are only available for windows.

Try encoding using the MATLAB script node and tell me if it worked for you.

    Best regards.

  • Database Toolbox and Chinese characters

    Hi all

I have a problem with a function where users can search inside a Microsoft SQL Server database for a specific entry.

I used the database with the DB tools tool run Query.vi, users can add keyword here for example. 'blue %' inside a control of the chain, then the request is passed to the DB.

    (e.g. SELECT field1 FROM TABLE1 WHERE FIELD1 LIKE N 'blue %')

That works very well in the German version.

Now, the application is also used in China. As long as they are looking for ASCII characters everything works fine also. Now, they began to create entries with Chinese characters (which also works), but when they try to pick up some Chinese characters, they do not get a result. (when searching for entries with Chinese AND English characters and search for English characters all works too)

I do not use the Unicode functions, and the database field is an nvarchar.

Unfortunately I don't have a Chinese Version of Windows to do a few tests here.

Anyone an idea what could be the reason (Chinese codepage?) and how to solve this problem?

    Thanks and best wishes,

    Helmut

    LabView 8.5 / Microsoft SQL Server 2008

You can try this test even without changine the code (language of non-unicode programs) page. First change your chain control '-' code display. In the places where the Chinese characters would appear, enter some hexadecimal codes above 7F by fleeing with a '-'. Here are the codes that are traditionally displayed differently depending on the settings of operating system as the language for non-unicode programs.

    UPDATE table

    Foobar SET = "test\AA\BB\CC\DD."

    WHERE the blah - blah

SELECT foobar FROM table WHERE foobar LIKE 'test % '.

The returned string has \AA\BB\CC\DD after test? Now try...

Foobar SELECT FROM table WHERE foobar LIKE '% \AA\BB\CC\DD'

Get something? Try it now with the N prefix...

  • Standalone Mac App LabVIEW - include Visa & LabvIEW Run-time

    Hi all

I used LabVIEW for more than a decade, but only for Windows, just enter in LabVIEW for mac, please pardon the ignorant questions.

I am developing a project very simple stand-alone deployment that must Run-time LV and NI Visa. My project uses a simple USB-Serial device that I talk with Visa. I used this link to condition the LabVIEW execution with my application. I think I need NEITHER Visa driver package as well. I don't know how to do this. Someone has experience racing drivers with stand-alone apps for LabVIEW under mac? Thanks for your help.

    Hi SK8.

Unfortunately there is no way to add the option to install on the MAC, you said, that you can create the package to install the LabVIEW runtime engine and the application, but in order to install drivers OR Visa, he will have to be installed separately.

  • Best way to control the primary databases, standby, including alert logs, etc..

Hi, guys, I've finally commissioning of the new environment for the new redhat linux and everything works great so far (primary/secondary).

Now I would like to setup of its surveillance analysis scripts automatically so I can let it run by itself.

    What is the best way?

I talked to another friend of dba outside the company and he told me that his shop would not use any cron jobs to monitor, they use the grid control.

We have no control of grid. I would like to see what fits best here? should we configure the grid control?

And as for now, I would appreciate the ideas of all the cron scripts.

    Thank you

    I have the simple:

    ####################################################################
    # script to check alert log on PRIMARY
    #
    ####################################################################
    #
    #
    # Set the directory for alert log
    #
    cd /u01/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/primary/PRIMARY/trace
    #
    #
    # run tail command
    #
    tail -500 alert_PRIMARY.log | more

Adjust the - 500 on the tail according to your needs.

  • How to establish links of Labview with SQL server database Toolkit

I'm a database newbie, but I have to use MS SQL server (2008) to store my data. I am well equipped with all the features of Labview, don't know how to use it properly. I now complete development, including the toolbox database. My latest version of labview is 8.6.1. Side material, I have cFP2220 and many modules of differnet kind.

Here is a useful link that I found on the web:

    1. I got the database creation procedure (pdf file) to link the udl.

    http://decibel.NI.com/content/docs/doc-4602

It gives a step-by-step login procedure to MS Access, and I'm able to save data to MS Access with the database Toolbox. However, I could not understand how to establish a chain of connection or udl to SQL server. In other words, I hope someone can explain in detail what is the procedure to set up such a link.

    2. I learned about the forum that there is a LabSQL, but it takes some knowledge of SQL statement. I would walk away from him, as I am not familiar with SQL.

    3. the VI I used for the recording of data in DB are very similar to "Create database Table.vi" found in the sample.

In short, I think that I just need someone who has experience with the connection to the server SQL with Labview to show me the steps to link to SQL.

    Thank you very much

You may not create a database in SQL Server using the control panel ODBC or a UDL. You must create a database by using SQL Server tools. (In fact, you can use SQL statements to create a database, which is what's really going on by using SQL Server tools. However, I don't know if the database Toolbox has the screws required to send these types of SQL statements.). Once you have created the database you can create tables using SQL Server tools, or you can use the screw of toolbox database.

You try to run SQL Server on your computer? SQL Server is usually running on a server. You try to use SQL Server Express?

Assuming that you have SQL Server running and a database has been created, then here are the steps needed to create a UDL to connect:

    1. In Windows Explorer, create a text file and rename the text file so that there a .udl extension (like this PDF).
    2. Double-click the UDL file.
    3. Change to the tab 'supplier '.
    4. Select 'Microsoft OLE DB for SQL Server provider'.
    5. Click on the ' next > ' button. It changes you to the tab 'connection '.
    6. In the drop-down menu, select your SQL Server. If it is not listed, try clicking on the Refresh"" button. If this does not meet the list, then you will need to enter manually.
    7. In the section "#2" specify the authentication method and credentials, if necessary, to connect to SQL Server.
    8. In the section "#3" specify the database that will be used, which is the one that you created earlier using the SQL Server tools. NOT SELECT THE MASTER DATABASE. If you do, you will completely screw up your installation of SQL Server.
    9. Click "Test connection" to verify that you can connect to SQL Server.
  • Database and labview

LabVIEW 2009 can be used to develop a management system with ability of fuzzy querying database expert?

LabVIEW is a full-fledged programming language. Like C, C++, c#, Java, etc. Regarding your specific goal, nothing can really be said also. You design your system and determine that you need a programming language, consider the various possibilities and then decide for yourself which is the best path to take. You might as well ask "C allows to develop an expert database management system controlling fuzzy mark?". How would you answer that?

  • How I replace perfectly my record excel sheet with ability of database? + General questions about computing distributed with LabVIEW

Surprisingly, I'm almost finished with a full blown control-simulation application, that I've been working on for more than a year now, thanks in no small part of this community. The final step is to run on the simulations of k ~ 8 and be able to meet a simulation and overall statistics on performance. Each simulation is taking about 6 minutes of real time to run (~ 2 seconds of real time per hour of simulation time, valid for 7 days of simulation), as we seek to about 800 hours of your time to simulate. I have 5 computers available and a raspberry 2 Pi these simulations on, I'm looking to set up a kind of compute cluster at the end in about 2 weeks.

The ability of current logging is sketchy; I got about 40 columns of data, and they are written in a spreadsheet with a .xls format tabs-delimited. This works very well for individual simulations, but it would be quite heavy to deal with if I had more than 20,000 of them. I think this must be done with a relational database sort, but my experience with databases is very limited, especially then, when it comes to LabVIEW. Here are my questions:

-Can I create a kind of master-slave configuration where a computer (and probably the Pi) keeps track of the simulations are complete, which are running, and who have never run? Computers slaves ask for simulation settings, and IP would give them to him.

-How should I take care of the database? Each simulation is about 500 k in .xls format, it's about 5 GB of data in all. Computers slaves synchronization from time to time to take care of the redundancy?

-How can I refine my memory + General fresh disk I/O? How can I know which items from my point of view most of them?

-Do you have suggestions for the implementation of clusters of databases relational/computer with LabVIEW?

I have attached a picture of my configuration of logging + the overall structure of the application. It is a state machine with a structure of the event for the interruptions.

I tried to follow this tutorial with the USRP 2932, coming soon, but I found out later that I have seem to have none of the LabVIEW Communications. No not those who prevent me from using the USRP radio? If not, then is there any restrictions on what I can do with the radio without communication?

    Hi BreadLB,

The link to the tutorial you posted is based on LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite, a new software environment designed to accelerate the prototyping of the algorithm and stable air.  It is a completely separate and independent of LabVIEW environment.  See my post here for more details.  You can also download a free 30 day trial copy here.  Your hardware is supported with LabVIEW and LabVIEW Communications.

The 2932 NOR is a network based USRP, and there a small on-board FPGA.  For this reason, the FPGA on that specific product is not a target of LabVIEW FPGA.  The NI 294 x / 5 x family has a large Kintex 7 FPGA and can be programmed using LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Communications, as in the tutorial you posted.  The 2932 OR can be used with your host PC and LabVIEW for a variety of applications.  Unfortunately the tutorial that you have linked to your post requires the NI 294 x / 5 x hardware and Communications of LabVIEW.  If you have questions about a specific application for your 2932, please post more details and we would be happy to help you.

  • Setup of database LV8.6

Hello, I'm about to build a Setup program for my application, and it uses the database tool 1.0.2 I looked at the instructions on how to add all the files needed for the Installer (link below), but he asks "Database application template.bld" LabVIEW/database directory. I can not find this file. Is it really necessary if you use LV8.6? and if so where can I find it? What do I need to reinstall Toolikit DB? I will appreciate the help. Thank you

If you don't have a script of compiling an old project of LabVIEW 7.1, then that KB is not applicable. If you want to build in the installer in LabVIEW 8.6 just follow the normal steps. Everything you need to include is the runtime LabVIEW himself.
