  • Windows vista has been updated, and then just went to black screen and the kind of start to restart all.

It just seems to be a loop.

    Hi Linda,.

    Thank you for your response.

Here are some steps that you can try in order to solve the problem.

I suggest you to change the startup command sequence and select the hard disk. Then, follow the steps provided by Abdul R and an update with the results.

If you still get the same error message, disable the floppy in BIOS drive and check.

You can see the manual of the system manufacturer or contact the system manufacturer for more information on how to make the changes in the BIOS.

Note: changes to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

If the problem persists, or you have questions about Windows, do not hesitate to let us know. We will be happy to help you.

  • Get a black screen after I formatted my PC.

    * Original title: black screen...!

What happened is that I formatted my pc and when I restart all that happens is I hear sounds I always hear, but nothing does not appear on the

screen. I tried multiple monitors. I picked up the gpu on board monitor and plugged into a new graphics card that I bought, but not

chance. I tried to reset the bios (disconnect the battery), but which did not help either.

    Heeeeeeeelp...!

    motherboard: P5GD1 - VM
new graphics card: MSI VGA PCI X N210-MD1GD3H/LP 1 GB

    Hi Jim,.

Thank you for posting back, I really appreciate your response and the effort that you tried to overcome this problem.

The graphics card is not compatible with the hardware, so I suggest to remove the graphics card and try to start the computer and check if you are able to see the screen.

I suggest you to start your computer in safe mode.

    Method 1:

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button stop and then click on restart.

    2. do one of the following:

    a. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    b. If your computer has multiple operating systems, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options, use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see startup options (including safe mode).

4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

I suggest you to try the low resolution in advanced options and check if it works.

Check if you can see your screen in safe mode.
    Hope that helps!

For further assistance post back, we will be happy to help you.

  • "Input error: can not find script file"c:\windows\system32\prnport.vbs.""

Hello everyone.  I looked for some time and found no solution for this problem, so please forgive me if the answer has recently given or easily acquired.  My desktop running Windows XP seem to be missing the script "prnport.  I've looked up and down, but can't find it.  According to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490975.aspx and many other sources, the typical place lies the \system32 folder.  Any help is much appreciate and thank you very much.

    -Matt

I was unable to find it on the installation disc.  Instead, I just took the script from a Windows 7 machine and placed in the computer XP system32 folder.  So far, things have been working well.  Thanks again.

  • Get a black screen BIOS afer and before Windows logon

So get a black screen after BIOS and before the Windows logon screen. I checked the RAM and one on two RAM sticks that was bad. But I still have the black screen. I tried an external monitor but still a black screen. I tried all the normal things (verification of the restore point disc, e.g. via the command prompt, startup repair, etc.) and no luck. I ran a test to check the hard drive, and it is impossible to find the hard drive. But then I ran AVG anti-virus, the AVG Live (bootable CD) and at the very start gave me this error: 106 error to the power of disk on life: 8768 (365 days + 8 hours) and underneath were basically the same error, just different numbers. But it still allowed me to run a scan and he was going through the files ok so she did not see the hard drive and files (contrary to the test of hard drive and yes the hard drive test was a bootable cd of same manf. like the hard drive), he found no virus. Even when I ran Defender in offline mode. Then I tried to re - install the operating system on the same drive with a cd. When he was going through the first part of the establishment where it was drivers and so forth: I kept getting the BSOD. Then I took the drive from the laptop and install it in another laptop but she has done the same thing, black screen, so I thought it was the hard drive. But then I begin another hard drive from the laptop and put it in the laptop original and he gave me the black screen and I know that the hard drive was good, she was an operating system that starts when I put it in the not troubled laptop. So any ideas anyone? Would it be possible that the all three things at once: RAM and hard drive laptop motherboard? Any help would be appreciated. Yet once, bios starts, just to Gets a black screen and does nothing after the bios but before the windows logon. The operating system is Vista and it is a Dell laptop, Studio. Any ideas?

    Thank you

  • Satellite M70 - black screen after the installation of recovery

So far, what I did is put in the Recovery DVD - ROM product. Then when my computer restarts I was invited to restore my computer failing and said. After that he went through this process, that he told me to remove the disc that I did. Now he only get a black screen after the Toshiba screen that gives me options f2 for Setup and f12 for options.

I don't know what to do now to make my laptop works again. Help, please.

    Hi Zach_1,

Have you tried to launch the installation of recovery again? Maybe that something was wrong during the first installation, it might have arrived
Then retry the recovery facility and see what happens.

If it doesn't work you should try a normal Microsoft disk so determine if the problem is related to hardware or recovery disk.

  • black screen after the mode standby, windows 8

I upgraded my laptop HP dv6 to windows 8. I get a black screen after I wake up from sleep mode. as if the monitor has no power.

In fact, I solved the problem by upgrading my graphics card driver.

but I was troubled because I thought that it was up-to-date.
display the properties of the computer - device manager - adapters - NVIDIA GeForce GT 230 M
I have a click right on NVIDIA GeForce GT 230 M, and then clicked on update driver software. He told me that the driver was updated.
but I checked the nvidias site. There, I found a newer version.
It was confusing. Why windows can't find this newer version?
  • I am trying to download and install Itunes for Windows 10 - the download file is labeled itunes6464. When I try to install, I get an error message saying that I can't install this program on a PC?

New HP laptop, Intel processor running Windows 10 (so I find it almost impossible to find something useful on the computer system - I'm NOT a fan of Windows 10).

(I have a Mac and an iPhone at home, so am very familiar with iTunes)

Downloaded iTunes for PC version 12.3.3 (which shows in my downloads as iTunes6464.exe)

But when I try to install the package I get an error message saying "you cannot install this program on a PC. Contact the Publisher of the software. »

No previous iTunes installs on this computer... I have on this machine - it's the only other Apple Quicktime software.

I'll hop on the site of HP support too, but would like to help here, if they are available.

Specific advice Apple seem to be uninstall QuickTime, it should no longer be necessary and has a few potential security vulnerabilities. See Uninstall QuickTime 7 for Windows - Apple Support.
