  • Issue of form design - using the form in Acrobat PDF format

I created a form in excel and imported into Acrobat Pro XI to create a pdf file which is automatically calculates the subtotal, discount, delivery, installation, retail etc...    The problem I have is that the sum does not calculate properly when the discount field or sales tax is nil.  Can someone tell me how write code if the value of "Discount" is $0.00, the value will be equal the subtotal? I should be able to then apply the same formula in the field of sales tax.  Here's the formula I am entered for the calculation of the discount and subtotal:

Event.Value = this.getField ('subtotal') .value * this .getField ("Discount") .value.

Ah, if it's a percentage field, not a dollar amount (as your original question has suggested). In this case, you can use something like this:

    If (this.getField("Discount").value == 0) event.value = this.getField("Subtotal").value;

    else this.getField("Subtotal").value = event.value * this.getField("Discount").value;

  • Acrobat Pro 9 - return of form as a pdf instead of xml?

    I designed

    a form superimposed on a

Everything is going well except when my client cl

ICKs on the bu to return by email

tton, he returned to me as an xml

file, but I want that he returned in pdf format.

    How can I fix?

You will need to go to the designer (the reason you should ask in the forum of LiveCycle) and check the options in the submit button. I find a bit of a pain to use Designer as they default to a lot of things that I wouldn't use (bad practices such as email), but it's not real clear on how to change. I guess it's just that I'm used to the forms in Acrobat and not have played with Designer enough. In any case, in the designer, check the properties of the submit button. I can verify AA7 in a bit to see what is there.

In my previous post, I was suggesting to simply live with XML. It is easily imported to the PDF form to give the same result if the form had been sent with fields filled. Can be a lot simpler in the long run.

More info: I went to Designer 7 and selected block to submit properties. On the field of the object, I selected presentation button, no e-mail or http. This operation adds a tab to submit. On this tab, you have the choice of the type of selection. I guess the Designer 9 is similar. You must set the mailto URL: (do not immerse in the space between the ":" and address) If you want the presentation of e-mail, but be careful with presentation of e-mail as it fails for a lot of people because of their e-mail client Setup program. You will then need to return to Acrobat (I think) and turn on the rights of the player, but activation is to be cautious about using regarding license restrictions.

  • MOBILE VERSION DOES NOT WORK!  Adobe is not aware that encrypted forms fail using portable player?

I created a PDF form in Acrobat 9 Pro and it encrypted with a password.  No other restrictions were placed on the document.

When I open the document on an android (tablet or phone) device or an iPod, it does not fill in all the fields where apply a signature of any kind.

However, when I opened the exact shape even with the desktop (XI player) version, it allows me to fill and sign without problem.

I have no problem filling and applying a signature to a mobile device when the document is not encrypted.

    Help, please!

I've updated all versions of my to the most recent.

Yes, Adobe is apparently aware of this.

For Adobe to omit these features from basic to its mobile version is appalling.

I expect this from Microsoft, but not Adobe.

  • Dynamic XFA forms and Acrobat Professional

    Hello

I have the following statement of our software provider and want to check if it is correct: «you can't create/modify dynamic XFA forms with Adobe Acrobat.» Creation of dynamic XFA forms requires Adobe LiveCycle Forms Designer supplied with Acrobat 7, 8, 9 and X Professional; and is not included in Acrobat Professional XI. You can fill out the forms using Acrobat Professional but they are static forms. »

Is this correct? Between the change in the way that LiveCycle designer has been distributed (provided with Acrobat Pro then separately) and Acrobat Pro vs. Adobe FormsCentral, it is not easy to see what is necessary to do now with Acrobat Pro XI.

    Thank you!

    R.

Yes, this description is correct. It is also important to understand that there is no connection between the LCD and FormsCentral. Two things are very different.

CF is a service based on the web for the design of forms, their distribution and then collects the results. Since it is more what remains of him is his desktop application that can be used to create a (simple) PDF forms from scratch. The resulting file is a standard PDF Acrobat format, not a form of LCD.

  • How to create forms in Acrobat 9?

I have a problem. I don't know how to create forms to fillable word document in acrobat 9.5.5. and can't find anything online

The usual way is to create the word of PDF form, open the PDF in Acrobat and adds the fields of the form: forms > add or edit fields

and you will be where you can add and configure the fields in the form of form editing mode.

To add form fields to an existing PDF, select: forms > add or edit fields

To create a PDF as Acrobat file an existing Word document, you can select: forms > start the form wizard > use an existing file

You can select PDF, Word, Excel, etc. and Acrobat will attempt to automatically add form fields where he thinks they belong.

I do not recommend the choice: forms > start the form wizard > create a PDF form from scratch

Since then, it will start an older version of LiveCycle Designer.

All this is will work with Acrobat 9 Pro. If you have the level, some things are not available, but you will still be able to enter the form editing mode.

I'm filling out a form that is available on a site. When I click on the option to fill out and submit the form 'online' a pdf document is displayed in chrome with the following text

«To display all of the content of this document, you need a later version the viewer PDF.» You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html for further support, go to www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html"

Needless to day, I installed the latest version. I even reinstalled using the link in the message, but nothing helped. Whenever I click on the link to go forward, I get the same message. Question: (i) is it my PC/software (Vista), (ii) is the site where I'm trying to submit the form, or (iii) is it the software acrobat reader. Note that I used successfully the last version to fill out and sign forms.

It is none of them. It's Chrome, which is ignoring Adobe Reader and showing the message.

Solution: just save the document (with the message) to your desktop. Then open it in Adobe Reader. The 'real' should then display.

  • Creating web forms with Acrobat

Is it possible to create a form with Acrobat and host it on my own server and not on Adobe?

You need an embed code when you use a web form created in FormsCentral, but because FormsCentral doesn't host your PDF forms as it does your web forms, you do not use an embed code. Just place somewhere on your site and link to it as you would for any other type of content on your site.

How to find and replace data in fields of form in acrobat xi, its not allowing to do while trying, request adobe livecycle to settle. Help, please.

Best way to do is the following:

    -Open the PDF in Acrobat.

-Go to tools - form - form more Options - export data.

-Save form data in an XML file somewhere on your system.

-Open the XML file in a plain text editor (I recommend Notepad ++).

-Let's say you want to replace all the years in dates "2013" to '2014 '. Do a global search & replace '2013-' to '2014' - (I added the dashboard in order to ensure that only the date fields are changed).

-Save the XML file (maybe under a new name).

-Go back to the PDF file and now go to tools - forms - more form Options - import data.

-Select the modified XML file and import it.

  • Convert XML forms dynamic Livecycle pdf to Word?

How do to convert a form of dynamic pdf XML created from Livecycle designer ARE to Microsoft word? I have Acrobat X and when I click on file-> save slot - > and choose "Save as type" as "Microsoft Word Document (* .doc)", I get this message: ", except cannot process this document.» No file has been created. »

Is it because it's a dynamic XML form with JavaScript in the form design? If not, what could be the cause of what makes the file not savable in word format? All these forms are created from Livecycle designer and I tried to use Acrobat X to convert them to word but it doesn't work.

    Hello

XFA forms are not regular PDF but XML files in a shell of PDF.

To create a file of Word of these files, you must flatten the XFA forms by printing to PDF with the Adobe PDF printer.

Then, you can save the static PDF created as a Word document.

  • Forms and acrobat 9 Standard

    Hi all

Calling for first time, long time listener.

I have a small problem with forms in Acrobat.

    I. have created a PDF of an old Word file, with a few tables where you can fill in your name.

    2. in Acrobat, I open the newly created PDF file, and click the FORMS button-> add or modify forms. All pop up, and I can start to change the names of the boxes and other whatnot. So far so good.

    3. then I save it to my desktop. Still a fine.

    4. I send e-mail to my collogue, where it opens it and fill the form. And here's the best, he or she cannot save it. They can print only. They use the drive and I have Standard.  Its something to do with extended permissions. But as far as I know, I have not been quantified it. They have all the necessary permissions.

I'm doing something wrong? Or maybe my discussions? Of course, the problem would be solved if they all used Standard or even only a PDF printer any.

    Thank you very much

Moreover, I think that in Acrobat X Standard it can be done as well.

  • Want to make a "new user" form in Acrobat using the Forms Designer, I'm going about this wrong?

Hi all, I work in a small company and would like to have a generic template that back to new users when they start. He practices the company base on internet usage, storage of base directory, login, etc... I want that last page of a form that I fill to contain their user name, password, telephone etc... I've implemented the shape makes a .pdf file and used the form designer to implement the fields I want to have active. Now I don't know what to do. I deally, I want save a copy of the file for each user in a network folder, with their information on this subject, and the form fields locked after I'm done. I've been playing with the distribution of forms and appear not to do what I want, looks like it creates a single file with all the different updates. I want possible, or can I just keep the shape of the United Nations distributed and open / save for each user and hope that they erase their data?

Any help would be appreciated to gratly! Thank you!

Yes, for what you want to do create the form in Acrobat is the best way to go. Here are a few tips.

    1. to flatten the page that contains the form field, use the flattenPages method. It is documented here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.466.html

So to flatten the last page of a document, you should do something like:

Convert fields on the last page to the other content

    flattenPages ({start: numPages - 1});

For more information, see the tool flatten Page content that you can download here: http://www.pdfscripting.com/public/65.cfm

    2. to save the changes in a new document, you can do this:

Trigger the menu item save as

    app.execMenuItem ("SaveAs");

It will require a location and a name of daughter. More information: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.143.html

These two lines of code provide the minimum stripped for what you want.

For the backup operation, you probably want to eventually create your own routine to SaveAs in a JavaScript file to the folder level which also contains the code that implements a custom toolbar button that implements this.

    For example (method addToolButton): http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.134.html

and (trustPropagator for example of method w/save as): http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.168.html

    and (method trustedFunction): http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.167.html

Create your own routine to SaveAs to silently save the file to the desired location by using a file name based on the content of one or more form fields, for example.

  • Created the doc in InDesign, it's a form in Acrobat, now need to modify original

So I made this document in InDesign and exported in PDF format.  From the PDF file, I used acrobat pro to make the document a form with fields.  I spent a lot of time put into place perfectly and then realized that there is an error on the play that was made when I designed it originally in InDesign.

Question is, how to make this change to fix the error (a typing error) without havig to redo the entire form in acrobat?

I tried to open the PDF in InDesign form, even if I knew, it wouldn't work - and it didn't.

I tried to open the form in Illustrator, which allowed me to make the correction without messing up the form, but also messed up the graphic effects - if it wasn't a go.  Any other suggestions?

    It's even easier than that.

Make your corrections in InDesign, export to a new PDF. Open the old PDF and use Document > replace pages and choose the new PDF.

This will replace the old with the new information but leaves intact form fields.
