DCR-TVR33

Why these units are not compatible with Windows 7. I'm getting sick and tired of it when your product becomes obsolite due to changes in the platform.

It started with the Beta Max..come on give Sony me a break!

  • I can move video from Sony DCR-SR42 files to a memory stick?

Please show me how to move a movie from a disk file to a memory stick Sony DCR-SR42 hard. Thank you.

Location Memory Stick of the DCR-SR42 is used to record images and so it is not directly the camcorder can transfer files from the hard drive to a Memory Stick. However, once you have the camcorder connected to your computer, you can then move the files using your computer.

  • Windows 7 and DCR TRV16E

    Hello

I want to capture video from my DCR-TRV16E to a pc running on Windows 7 via I.Link. Whatever I do, the pc does not see my camcorder (not in Windows Explorer or Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Premiere). I get the same problem when I want to connect via USB.

When I connect the camcorder on my Mac, iMovie recognizes immediately that the camcorder starts to capture. Unfortunately, my Mac is a little slow, so I want to edit on my pc.

Is it possible to connect this camcorder to a computer running on Windows 7?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sihem

    Solved!
For those who want to know how:

Windows 7 has a driver more recent for firewire - and is often not compatible with the older firewire camcorders. So what you can do is to change the driver that defaults to the old driver.

Control Panel > Device Manager > IEEE 1394 controller > select your port firewire card
Right-click on the port and then select 'Properties' and select the 'Driver' tab click the 'Update Driver' button and then click on "Browse my computer for driver software" and then "Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer. Select "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy)" and then click "next".
The former driver should then be installed and I hope it will allow you to use the PC for capture from camcorder via firewire.

You need a video capture device that uses (yellow, red, white) RCA connections and use the AV cable provided with the camcorder.

Some examples of video capture devices include, but are not limited to:

  • Windows 7 and DCR-HC21

I have a Sony DCR-hC21 camera and laptop computers changed recently. I now run Windows 7 64 bit. I can't download drivers for the PMB software. Is there another way to transfer a movie from the camera to my laptop?

You cannot use the USB cable because there is no USB streaming of drivers for windows 7. Camcorder came with SW called Picture package. Not compatible with windows 7. PMB on esupport are updates only. Cannot use this. Check if your computer has an IEEE1394 port. If that's the case then you can use an i.link cable, known as a Firewire cable as well. No special SW necessary with this cable. Your computer will automatically use Windows live movie maker to capture video. If the computer lacks the IEEE1394, then you can use the A / V cable supplied with your handycam. Use of the A / V cable you will need to get an external A / V capture card that would receive signals of the handycam and pass them through a USB port on your computer. • Import video 8 Sony DCR-TRV210E PAL

    Hi all

I would like to import video from my friend E DCR-TRV210 (Sony).

Importing digital video (iMovie) works very well.

Import analog Vidoeo (that I assume to be converted by the DCR) works:

I can see the video online on my screen when I start the import.

Complete the import...: NOTHING (black screen)

There are a few files that point to the correct video-name (for example, "test") but no directory

    "Original media" a.s.o..

    Can someone help me, please?

BTW. : I'm on MAC Pro El Capitan (10.11.3), video comes through fire-wire 400 to fire wire 800 in love at first sight!

iMovie version 10 requires the timecode for the import.

Your camcorder product for digital tape timecode but not for the digital conversion analog (cassette Hi8).

This is the case even when you use the camcorder in pass-through mode. (analog to DV out).

You can try to use QuickTime Player to record instead of iMovie, it's on your Mac.

It seems not to need to import timecode.

How to use QuickTime Player - Apple Support

Follow the instructions to record a movie and select Maximum quality.

Then, you need to import the data into iMovie.

Note that you won't get the scene breaks as you would a digital tape, but a long clip rather making it a bit more tedious to change.

  • Rechargeable battery NP-FH40 model for model Handycam Sony DCR-SR42E

Because I'm not able to find rechargeable battery NP-FH40 model for the Handycam Sony DCR-SR42E model in one of your stores in Delhi, what is the replacement battery model. Help, please.

Hello. The H-series batteries have been replaced by the series V so look for a NP-FVxx. The voltage may be slightly different from the original battery, but this isn't a problem. The physical difference only is the size of the center of each side of the battery tab then you might want to try before buying just to make sure it fits. I replaced my series H with V series without any problem.

  • DCR-SR68 HDD Format Error Msg

OPON power device reads a message on the video screen: ERROR of HARD disk FORMAT. At this point the device is rendered unusable. Is there a way to fix this? THX

    Hello RoyS,

Welcome to users of Forums of Discussion.
You can try to format the HARD drive and see if this could help you. Please see the instructions on page 67 of the DCR-SR68 manual.
    http://www.docs.Sony.com/release/DCRSR68_handbook.PDF
NOTE: This will delete all data in the internal recording media. To avoid the loss of importance of the images/videos, you must save them before you format the HARD drive.

To answer your question, this camcorder USB Streaming feature is not possible with Windows 8 operating system. If you try to connect the camcorder to your computer Windows 8 using a USB cable, the camera will not be recognized by the computer.

To transfer the videos from the camcorder to your computer with Windows 8 operating systems, use an i.LINK (a.k.a firewire or IEEE1394 cable) cable or Audio/video provided (A / V) cable and software compatible video capture as Windows MovieMaker software.

According to the availability of the iLINK decision-making or A / V jack on the computer, follow the instructions provided in the links to transfer the videos below.

    i.LINK cable:

    Audio/video (A / V) cable:

Once you have transferred the videos on your computer, you can use the software PlayMemories home (WPH) to organize the video files.

  • Import media from Sony DCR-TRV355E

I bought Final Cut ProX in part to change a large stock of video family based on Strip. Now, I find that my video camera Sony DCR-TRV355E, who has worked well with iMovie 06HD no longer works was FCPX. Entry shown in the video import screen but at the top right the legend says no signal of the device.

After having scoured the manuals that I see that my camera is not taken in charge that is a great shot. Surely, there must be a work around?

Would be very grateful for the help. Thank you

FCP X treats D-8 camera as a device not controlled, no timecode.

Try to use QuickTime X to capture.
