Import media from Sony DCR-TRV355E

I bought Final Cut ProX in part to change a large stock of video family based on Strip. Now, I find that my video camera Sony DCR-TRV355E, who has worked well with iMovie 06HD no longer works was FCPX. Entry shown in the video import screen but at the top right the legend says no signal of the device.

After having scoured the manuals that I see that my camera is not taken in charge that is a great shot. Surely, there must be a work around?

Would be very grateful for the help. Thank you

FCP X treats D-8 camera as a device not controlled, no timecode.

Try to use QuickTime X to capture.

  • Import video 8 Sony DCR-TRV210E PAL

    Hi all

I would like to import video from my friend E DCR-TRV210 (Sony).

Importing digital video (iMovie) works very well.

Import analog Vidoeo (that I assume to be converted by the DCR) works:

I can see the video online on my screen when I start the import.

Complete the import...: NOTHING (black screen)

There are a few files that point to the correct video-name (for example, "test") but no directory

    "Original media" a.s.o..

    Can someone help me, please?

BTW. : I'm on MAC Pro El Capitan (10.11.3), video comes through fire-wire 400 to fire wire 800 in love at first sight!

iMovie version 10 requires the timecode for the import.

Your camcorder product for digital tape timecode but not for the digital conversion analog (cassette Hi8).

This is the case even when you use the camcorder in pass-through mode. (analog to DV out).

You can try to use QuickTime Player to record instead of iMovie, it's on your Mac.

It seems not to need to import timecode.

How to use QuickTime Player - Apple Support

Follow the instructions to record a movie and select Maximum quality.

Then, you need to import the data into iMovie.

Note that you won't get the scene breaks as you would a digital tape, but a long clip rather making it a bit more tedious to change.

Please show me how to move a movie from a disk file to a memory stick Sony DCR-SR42 hard. Thank you.

Location Memory Stick of the DCR-SR42 is used to record images and so it is not directly the camcorder can transfer files from the hard drive to a Memory Stick. However, once you have the camcorder connected to your computer, you can then move the files using your computer.

  • import media from photos

For some reason I can't seem to import any kind of media directly from Photos. The Photo app shows on Final Cut, but I can't seem to open or access anything whatsoever. I tried to access my media with pictures open and closed, but not luck when I drag my Photos media on my desktop, and then drag in the Final Cut, it seems to work. Any ideas?

  • How to import pictures from Sony CCD-TR400 Hi8?

    Hello

I was given an old Sony CCD - TR400 Hi8 vid cam because I have a lot of Hi8 videos years ago and I'd like to check out / import.

It has a / v (RCA), rfu and S video cables. Only I need get to FW400 or 800 so I can review/import in FCPX?

Also, given that I started using FCPX I used tapeless cameras, was so curious, then I see a tape on a camcorder like that without capture (as I have with FCS)?

Search NTSC-to-USB converters and investigate conversion digital video signals Firewire USB or even fall in love if your Mac doesn't have Firewire port.

You will probably use something like QT, iMovie or even Image Capture to bring your NTSC to your Mac as Quicktime files, you can then bring in FCPX.

When I was the conversion of hundreds of hours of 3/4 ", VHS and Betamax to digital, we used FCP7 on a MacPro Tower of aluminum. It's much easier than kludging the cylinder and FCPX. I just started the capture, started the tape machine and just let it run, do not attempt to change during the capture. Then I was able to edit in ye olde FCP7 and only what was necessary for export.

  • importing video from an old sony dv camcorder

    Hi all

I have a XPS8700 on 8.1 and you want to import video from my old digital Handycam from Sony DCR TRV12E.

Camcorder has both a usb port and an I.Link port. I learned that the camera is not supported under 8.1 with respect to the usb.

Can we say with certainty if I can use the iLink. My understanding is that the iLink is simply a Firewire 1394 port has so if I buy a PCI-E card (e.g. SYBA PEX30001) it will work for me?

    Any suggestions / ideas appreciated,.

    Thank you

    George.

It needs drivers of Sony to be recognized. You must look for the Sony support site help or drivers updated. Here's what I found:

Try a diff for the import application. See suggestions from Sony.
