dead laptop

last week, my laptop (hp g60-530us) started suspended during the shutdown, I have to press the power button for more than 5 seconds to stop completely.   I didn't think much, I patched ubuntu earlier for a similar problem, so I thought that an update would fix it.

but then today it does nothing.

I can have it plugged to the wall, with the battery removed, push the power button - nothing.    just nothing.

power supply?

Remove the hard drive and see if it will boot to the BIOS. If so, the culprit may be just a dead hdd causing the problem from the start fail. This would require a stroke of luck.

Try a hard reset, works sometimes. Disconnect all external devices first.

battery and power cord 1 / removal

2 - Press the power button for 30 seconds

3 reinstall only the power cord for the first start.

4. turn on

You can create word documents and powerpoint presentations, but you cannot save them directly on a normal USB.

Microsoft made a version of office for iPad, you can find it in the App Store. Here is a link:

There are usb drives that work with iPads, and you can save documents to those who use their own applications.

  • Battery goes dead laptop leaves to clean reboot

Yesssirreeeee! I use Vista Home Premium on a laptop Toshiba P200. Before yesterday, when the battery went completely dead, I could plug in and press the switch - and the machine would start me back where I was before with all my running programs.

Suddenly and without warning, now if the battery dead past and plugging in AC, the machine will start up just for Windows with all this not recorded at all.

Can someone point me for me what I would do so if the battery is dead, and to power once again, my laptop will bring me up to where I was before. Help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Looks like your battery is gradually degrading / failing to the point where it cannot declare reliable details about the support available in Windows.  Of course, a new battery should solve the problem.  If you want to continue with the current farm, you do not want to set a higher value for the warning events and critics associated with limited autonomy.  See this for more details:

  • How can I transfer data from a dead laptop

I have a laptop medion dead that took Vista. How can I access the data and transfer it on an Asus running windows 7 64 bit

If the Medion no will power, you can test the drive with the disk manufacturer utility.

If the Medion does not supply power to the top, the only way is to remove the disc, put it in an envelope and see if it works.

If it's an old record, you will probably need a powered external envelope. Older readers need too to work a single USB connection.

  • CS5 extended on dead laptop

I have CS5 extended on a laptop that is dead. I want to load only the activation on a new laptop. It must be a common problem.

    Thank you.

First of all, the license allows 2 activations, so if you have used one, simply install and activate

Secondly, if you must have your number of activations reset, you must communicate directly with Adobe

  • Creating a Machine Vurtial leave a dead laptop.

My laptop is dead and is not repairable.  The hard drive is fine and can copy all my files off.  But I would like to convert it to the virtual machine at, I could find a few settings that I had not documented.  If the laptop worked, I was able to P2V Converter, but everything I have Hare by car.  Standalone converter doesn't seem to work with only one hard disk.  Is the documentation now how to create a VMDK to training and then make a boot on a virtual computer drive?

everything I have VMware Workstation 9 and Standalone converter.

    Thank you

Guessed if someone else has this problem.

First put the drive in a working system.

    Use Winimage (http://www.winimage.com/)

Create a physical disk virtual hard disc (disc--> disc creation form virtual disk) (can use virtual PC at this stage)

    Then convert VHD to VMDK

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-convert-and-import-VHD-to-VMDK-VMware/

then create a new Virtual Machine from the vmdk

I had to reactivate windows but after that he found all the drivers and worked as usual.

  • BitLocker: decryption of a reader of my dead laptop

My laptop does not light, but my hard disk is not bad. I need to get data out of it, so I can send the laptop in for repair. The data are encrypted with Bitlocker.

I borrowed a friend with Vista Home Premium laptop. I can't get the Bitlocker repair tool to run on its system.

How can I get the data decrypted and transferred to an external drive?

BitLocker only comes with Vista Ultimate (and maybe Vista Enterprise but certainly not on Home Premium).  To read and transfer data, you must use another computer with Vista Ultimate (and of course the appropriate passwords and keys - or however you set up).  This might help: http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-vista-tips/how-to-recover-data-that-is-encrypted-by-bitlocker-part-iv/.

You can also use the Bitlocker repair tool: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928201.  I am not sure about it as I've never used it before, but the article is Microsoft and the situation seems to be who you are, so it should be applicable.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • G61-406SA: dead laptop data recovery

My portable fuel not up - quite dead.  I tried the Hard Reset, but that has no effect.  I suspect that it's cheaper to replace that repair, but I would at least get the data on the hard drive.   (The spec says it's a 250 GB SATA hard drive).

Yes, I normally have a backup plan, but I didn't do it while I was traveling so I lost 2 weeks of work.  I have 2 questions:

    1. is there a way to check if the HD is still OK?  I can't find instructions on how to even find and even less to remove it.

    2. If I peut to work, what have people found is the best way to retrieve the data?  Data recovery services charge an arm and a leg, so I prefer to do it myself if possible.

    Hello

If it is a mechanical problem with the drive, you can sometimes have a 'window' where she will be exploited before freezing (you can get an indication if the player starts to get hot very quickly), but it is worth considering if you are unable to get all the data at once: I recently pulled data on a HARD drive where the player would only run for 10 minutes at a time that was almost as exciting as watching paint dry!

  • Dead laptop, can I sell my disc of windows 7?

I have a retail version of windows 7 I have installed on my old laptop. He died there and it is thrown away. I did not uninstall it before windows 7 that I got rid of him. I have more retail copy. Should I still to turn it off, and I can do without the laptop? I'm not sure of the username and the password of my old laptop. Thank you.

Yes, as long as it is a copy of the retail, it can be transferred to another computer. There is no way to turn it off, you will need to just inform anyone you intend to sell what they must reactivate over the telephone:

    Windows 7 license agreement:

    17. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY. You can transfer the software directly to a not third parties only with the licensed computer. The transfer must include the software and the certificate of Authenticity label. You can't keep all copies of the software or any earlier version. Before any transfer authorized, the other party must accept that this agreement applies to the transfer and use of the software.

    Reactivation of Telephone instructions:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Transfer of license of Windows 7 from my dead laptop

If I try to use my W7HB product key in my new machine, it says that the product key cannot be used in this computer. The W7HB was purchased in December 2010 in Rs4200 and I have the Bill also.  My old laptop died and a necessary change in the motherboard which is not affordable at fresh city service center.
When I install the same windows in my new machine, it installs but activation fails.
I searched internet and found that this happens because my purchased windows was OEM edition which can not be installed 2nd time.
Is there some way I can get a new key that can be used in my new computer?  Can I send my invoice of purchase, original DVD and COSTS from my laptop to Microsoft to treat a new key/coa for me at some price that is lower than a purchase costs?

Sorry, but an OEM key cannot be used on another computer. Your best bet is to buy a "Full" version of Windows 7 for your new PC. The "full version" can be installed on a single computer at the time, but "IT MAY" be moved to another computer (if a long time as it was not installed on the current computer).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

  • Dead laptop after the BIOS update. How can I restore original BIOS?

    Model: HP Pavilion m7-1015dx

    Original OS: Windows 7

Current operating system: 64-bit Windows 8

    Problem:

I tried to update the BIOS by using this file:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-124651-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en...

    Release: 2013-10-08
    File name: sp63801.exe [1/1, 6.56 M]
    Version F.29

He gave me a Blue Screen of Death and the computer restarted. After the restart I only get a black screen, the fan comes on but there is no text and no way to access the BIOS, or the start menu.

The led caps lock starts to blink twice, then stops for 1 ~ second then blinks twice again and again, indefinitely. This, according to HP, suggests a failure of the BIOS Corruption.

    What I tried:

I do not have the HP recovery partition, so I tried to install the two update of UEFI BIOS HP SoftPAQ and HP UEFI support SoftPAQ environment on a FAT32 USB key named HP_TOOLS. I tried these tools separately, at the same time. I tried them with 3 different bios downloaded from this site. I hold the button windows and B, then turn on the computer. Nothing happens. I tried Fn and B, holding them for different periods, there are no beeps, no text on the screen, nothing. The led on the USB key blinks ten times at the beginning and then stops, then starts flashing caps lock. I tried to put the .bin file in different folders in the USB port, including the root, same result. No.SIG file is in the bios I downloaded.

I am on mobile, excuse the errors. What Miss me?
