Dedicated graphics will improve the VM?

I have ESX installation on some HP ML115 servers with integrated with 32 MB graphics memory shared.  Buying a dedicated graphics card will enhance the slight variation when running the computer virtual 3-4 at a time?

Hello

You mean install a new graphics card in the HP ML115 hosts running ESX?

No, I'm sorry that the hosts will not use additional graphics cards. You cannot devote a graphics card to one of the virtual machines no more.

This may be possible in the future, but it is not a choice available now. The graphics in your virtual machine is a completely virtual card and that's it would have recorded lower results in some scenarios.

How you access the virtual machines currently? You use remote desktop or the Console of the Virtual Infrastructure?

FWIW, remote desktop will give you a better experience as a remote console.

Hope this helps,

  • The upgrade of RAM will improve the speed side Windows and Mac?

I use VMware fusion for music production and this program requires plenty of work. I have a MacBook Pro 4 GB of ram and when I turn on VMware it goes to 2 GB of ram in Mac and 2 GB ram under windows. My Mac's speed is normal when VMware fusion is off but when I turn on my Mac is very slow. The upgrade of ram will improve the speed on mac and also windows (windows is also very slow)

BTW, my English is not very good

Well, take a peek in the Windows Task Manager to see how much memory is required/used. If an operating system requires more memory available, it will start to swap out the disk, which will introduce a huge performance impact. If the answer to your question is probably yes.

    André

PS: After adding memory to the host, you must also change the client memory for the virtual machine.

  • Intel HD integrated graphics will play the games requiring a GeForce 9800 GTX + or ATI Radeon HD 4870 +?

    Hello

A year ago I bought a Dell Inspiron 660 PC provided with a map "integrated Intel HD Graphics.

I am now looking to download a game on Steam, and I see that it requires graphics card GeForce 9800 GTX + or ATI Radeon HD 4870 +.

How can I determine if the integrated card of my PC will work to play this game?

    Thanks in advance!

    Luis

It won't.  You will need to match the performance of the 9800 GTX or HD 4870 7750 HD low profile video card.  Only cards from low profile with low profile brackets will be suitable to the 660 s.  Here's an example.  660 s comes only with a 220 Watt power supply.  The game you want to download probably doesn't need these cards but recommended for optimal performance.  Therefore, you can get something a little less like the HD 6670 HERE.

  • RAM will improve the marketing of the Adobe Creative Cloud Apps?

    Hello

The title is pretty self-explanatory. I was wondering if it will help more RAM. I have 4 GB of ram currently installed in my iMac, and I wonder if the upgrade of RAM will help products Adobe launch faster because they are so slow to start. Office 2016 is too slow to start.

    Thank you!

4 GB of RAM is quite minimal quantity to use OS X on. In general, more RAM will not help open ACCESS is the first, but if you close the application and then restart it, Yes, additional RAM will help, especially if you to 'virtual memory' (where the HD is used as virtual memory). However, more RAM should be more comfortable for OS X, which (in turn can perhaps) will help VAC throw faster. If you buy more RAM make sure you buy OWC or Crucial, as they are known to be compatible with Macs.

  • Software calibration Dell will improve the accuracy of the calibration in a later version? (Associated U2713H)

I'm having a problem with my purchase newly U2713H.

One of the reasons key I bought this monitor because it has 2 preset hardware calibration.

That save me a lot of time when I spend 2 color space workflow in Windows

(One fore one for sRGB and Adobe RGB)

and 14-bit LUT calibration equipment hardware is pregnant with precision.

Now, I tried to calibrate it with X-rite i1display Pro and software Calibration of Dell.

I tried the coordination parameters predefined and customized in the Dell monitor calibration software.

All results are terrible. I can't even D65 white point right.

Calibrated white point is WAY hotter that it must, the gamma is off, the color accuracy is mediocre at best.

Only the luminance is correctly calibrated.

However, I use custom color of the monitor preset and calibrate the monitor with basICColor 5 (calibration software)

The result is EXCELLENT, good white point, gamma correct, correct brightness, colors are on-site.

But there is a problem, the range either use predefined custom color standard.

If I want to use emulation Adobe RGB or sRGB. I can use these presets, but in these presets you can not adjust the color settings.

I can't calibrate my screen with these presets with basICColor 5.

So now I'm stuck. Hoping only Dell would have a specific version of monitor calibration software Dell.

I ask you, we will have that in the foreseeable future?

Because I consider really return or sell my U2713H so the answer is no.

    Thank you.

First of all, you cannot properly calibrate all GB - LED with Basiccolor 5 because it uses an older version of i1d3 SDK that don't support GB - led. Folder 'C:\Program Files\basICColor Software\basICColor display 5\PlugIns\i1d3 support Files\RG_Phosphor_Family_25Jul12.edr' is missing. If you add and edit "I1D3Mapping.txt" to contain it, it will show in the list box dropdown tecnology, but it will be ignored.

If you think you have calibration spftware excelent, but your "D65" if off to real D65 (green). Check it with ArgyllCMS (GNU software) and this BDU.

In second place, in a color space emulated without access to the RGB yo gain can 'fix' a little your WhitePoint via GPU LUT keep at least 93 to 96% RGB values. As monitor ages, WP will move and you must do this even if you have a D65 'perfect' at the moment.

Now to the crux of your question. It seems that the Dell software lacks a XML configuration. Check "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\X-Rite\Dell Calibration\Logger\logger.txt color" for a line of the error in the first lines.

Missing XML file should be here 'C:\ProgramData\X-Rite\Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution\displayTechTypes.xml. It's just a mapping between models of monitors and calibration BDUs corrections. If you don't have it, create it with this content:

But the 'Model' and 'Key' may vary in your case. Check the previous file, 'logger.txt' for the values as:

    "[24.05.2013 23:53:19.156] display of INFORMATION name: DELL U2413 - hardware ID: DELF047 - DisplayIndex: 0".

Also make sure that your nvidia card or ati does not have the color correction, 'colourful' or something like that.

And finally remember that the Dell-xrite software has a few flaws:

    1. it does not reset the values of LUT3D in each hardware calibration, so you have your factory reset values. It is a MAJOR, DELL problem. I therefore ask you, DELL, in order to solve this problem, once again... It cannot be if... just hard reset content LUT.

2-all the predefined values (rec 709, sRGB, AdobeRGB) are YOUR NATIVE white point. Use Custom preset to D65

One last thing, on the back of your 27: monitor LG GB - LED 27 "has its own software of hardware calibration (LG True Color or something like that), but if you buy this, it will work correctly for GB - LED for the same reason that 5 Basiccolor. It may seem to have a pretty white on the view, but no. Download (installation in a Virtuak Machine or something) and check yourself missing files for correction of BDUs.

And Asus 24 "" / 27 "GB - LED has no calibration hardware reset, so..." "adjust" your instalation of Dell color calibration Solution (I've ben asking a software update regarding LUT3D reset and they don't care) or purchase an Eizo/NEC for twice the price.

This is as sad as it may seem.

  • We have an oem vista and you have purchased an upgrade to windows 7. This will improve the vista or it won't work, because we have an oem version?

    We have vista oem

    Bought a pack of upgrade
Worried it does not level as we have oem
Will I buy a new oem version of windows 7?

All editions of Windows Vista are eligible for licenses for the Windows 7 upgrade, there are a few flats according to the architecture and edition of Vista you are running and which edition of Windows 7 and you intend to move to the architecture.

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise

Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

  • Satellite P305-S8822 - withdrawal of the dedicated graphics card

    Dear members of the forum,

probably due to a fault of the graphics card dedicated to my

    Toshiba Satellite P305-S8822 (PSPC4U - 02T 014)
    Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T 5550
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card
    3072 MB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM
200 GB Serial ATA hard drive

I'm not able to install Windows 7 or an another Version of Windows. Because I don't have the dedicated graphics card (only the onboard integrated graphics card) and found no BIOS option to turn it off, I would like to remove it from the motherboard. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out whether or not the ATI graphics card is welded (which this would make very difficult). Thanks a lot for your answers and a better idea to solve the problem.

To be honest, it won't be easy to solve your problem. Why?
Many people who have mobile machines the same logic valid for desktop computers. Exchange upgrade or hardware components on mobile units is very limited and you can simply swap the GPU or change the BIOS settings.

If the GPU is faulty in many cases entire motherboard must be replaced. I don't know what other people will write here, but what you can do is contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help or advice what can be done about it.

  • Vista Defrag does not work continues by saying defragmentation will improve performance after hours of defragmentation

I ran Defrag Vista several times (each for hours) and always says that "defragment your drive hard drive will improve the performance.

It seems that he never really ran that whole defragmentation at all! It is perhaps also the reason why Defrag Vista does not display progress with graphical display. It does not work.

Who out there can help find a Defrag Vista work?

    Thank you

    Hello

The Vista defrag works quietly in the background without intervention on your part

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/942092

In Windows Vista, there are a lot of improvements in the defrag engine and handling of fragmentation. By default, Windows Vista uses Task Scheduler to automatically keep the defragmented hard drive. This Automatic defragmentation does not affect the performance of the Windows Vista operating system...

If you want to use a much better defragmentation program which is free and where you can see the results, I suggest this one:

He does not. Change the tone of the screen to a more yellowish hue / hottest have has no effect on the life of the battery anyway.  Night shift is simply for your collection. It has no effect on the device itself.

  • Using a dedicated graphics card

My laptop is Dell Inspiron 15r 5537

    I have a 2 GB AMD 8850 M dedicated graphics memory

The problem is the more I play the games don't use it but rather use the Integrated INtel HD Graphics 4400.

Is there a way to force the games to use the AMD card? I tried setting in the Catatlst control center 'High Performance', but it does not work.

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

Win it in video performance video vs integrated only and is cheaper to build than a system with video true, discreet (something now found only in the high end portable computers - usually $1,500 or higher price points).

  • Satellite Pro A30 - RAM to help to improve the graphic system

I have a Toshiba Satellite PRO A30 and I recently went to a computer fair when I learned that I couldn't change the graphics because it is built in processor, but the guy told me I could use the RAM on my laptop (which is 1.2 GB) to improve the graphics up to 128 MB? is it true on this type of laptop, I looked everywhere on the net for how to do and say everything, it is to do so through the phoenixbios I have tried to do so but do not cause on my bios it doesn't gives not the possibility to change it, will I need an update for my bios?

    Hi Mark,

Your information is basically correct. The SA30 uses RAM shared for its graphics chip, so in principle, you can specify which part of your main RAM that you want to use for this purpose. However, the ability to specify the RAM allocation is controlled by the BIOS, and if the manufacturer of the BIOS has chosen to preselect the value of RAM graphic, then, you will not be able to change it.

I know that Phoenix BIOS allows the allocation of RAM to specify up to 128 MB (16, 32, 64 and 128 values) and it can also be defined in the properties display ("Advanced" tab), select the Frame Buffer and check which is entered for the value of the AMU.

I think that the option in the BIOS is also called UMA and appears on the second page of the BIOS update, about half way down the screen.

    Kind regards

Windows 7 64 bit all automatic updates of HP and Windows.

    Don, welcome to the forum.

The first thing you need to do is to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The current PSU is only 250W.  It is not enough to run a new intermediate level video cards.  They require a minimum of 400W.  It would be a good idea to buy at least one with 500W.  This will give you more choice of cards.  I love the Corsair and OCZ PSU.  I always suggest measuring the current PSU and comparing measures to whichever you choose.

You should stay at 9 "or less for the duration of the video card.  This ensures that it fits in the space provided.  You would need a larger case to go further.  I like XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  The two cards in the links can be inserted into the computer and they will be good for the games.  Be sure to read the 'Détails' and 'Clients' to learn more about each of them.  I'm looking for products that have more than 100 customers and are at least 4 eggs.  Normally, this will be a very good product.

  • Inspiron 3737 - pass fron integrated to the dedicated graphics card

    Hello

I got Dell Inspiron 3737 with integrated graphics card Intel 4000 and dedicated Radeon HD8670M graphics card.

Several weeks ago, I discovered this laptop works only with integrated IntelHD4000 (Win7 x 64). I installed the drivers of the latest GPU to dell, but it's not not to solve the problem. I installed older drivers, but also, there is no problem.

I decided to reinstall windows.  I installed Windows 7 x 64, all the drivers from the dell site in the order which they suggest. But laptop also only use IntelHD4000. In Device Manager shows two graphics GPU Intel HD Family and AMD Radeon HD8670M. Catalyst, AIDA64 and CPU - Z will find only Intel HD 4000. Reference Dell start diagnostic tools and Dell Online Diagnostics found no no problem (all tests was passed).

I tried to contact the technical support of Dell and got the following response "what did you want us? You are no longer under warranty and it's your problem! ».

If I understand correctly the video driver installation and switching between integrated and dedicated graphics are global problem. Solve someone has mentioned the problem and how?

    Hi p ol,

    Thanks for posting.

Please try these troubleshooting steps that may help solve the problem.

-The first is to uninstall/reinstall the graphics driver AMD.
-Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver.
-Next is to check programs and features and uninstall everything related to AMD.
-Once done, download and install the latest AMD graphics driver.
    -Here is the link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
-Restart your laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
-Test your laptop again after these steps.
-Do the same with your wireless adapter, uninstall/reinstall it so.
-This is where you can download the wireless card of.
