Default data source

I'm new to Coldfusion. And just to know that some default data sources are created during the installation of Coldfusion. Need details on these data sources and it is possible to install coldfusion without these data sources?

TIA
Deborah

Yes Moorthy. Here are some samples and in no case, be used by CF.

  • List of default data Source is only the list of JDBC data sources

    I have several defined JDBC data sources and have added a few sources of data file. But when I look at the report of a new report properties page, the default data Source drop-down list only JDBC data sources, none of the sources of data file. I tried clicking on the link "Refresh Data Source list", but it doesn't seem to do anything.

    I'd be able to see my file data sources in the Data Source by default list? I the role of the admin, it should not be a security thing. I give my data file sources a role, and I also have that same role.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello
    The default data source drop box contains only jdbc sources. You must create a new data source, type the file, and then choose the file directory, you have set up and then enter the name of the file. At this point, the default data source is ignored. Weird, I know, but it's like this: 0)

  • Specify the data source by default PIF

    How do you determine the Data Source by default "default"?

    Let's say I have three sources of JDBC, named BIEE_TRAIN, Oracle BIEEand demodata. They are displayed on the login screen of NEED in that order. I also have a file named data source, demo files.

    When we create a new set of data, there is an option button that indicates the default data Source. Looking at the page of the report, we see that the default data Source is set to BIEE_TRAIN. Why BIEE_TRAIN was selected? Selected by default because the data source is ranked first in the JDBC connections? I do not see a box to check, or any other way to report a particular data source as the value by default "default".

    In C:\OracleBI\xmlp\XMLP\Admin\DataSource\datasources.xml, the four sources are listed in the following order:
    demo
    demonstration files
    Oracle biee
    biee_train

    How can I change the default system? How would have defined the demonstration files, for example, as 'default' my system default data Source?

    It automatically sorts by NAME.

    And the default is Firestone I guess.

    If you want to default, call it as letter starting with "A".

    BTW, you can even restrict the data source based on the user, under Security admin role.

  • Logging data source expressions

    Hello

    We use NI TestStand 2012 here in our society, and I have a simple question.

    In any test pass/fail (numeric, String, pass/fail regular), is it possible to have the TestStand to include the data source expression in the default report?

    I can add it manually in the component "Other results", but I have to do for each step.

    I see that on conditional expressions and flow measures are included in the report, but not the my expressions of pass/fail, which are found in the data source tab.

    It seems obvious to me that the data source should be there, otherwise I just in the report the name of the step and the result and no information of what has been actually tested.

    Thank you in advance!

    Leandro

    It does not show what the '10' value means: speed, voltage, current, RPM, etc. unless we call actually step in this way.

    Thanks again.

    There is a 'units' set numerical limit markets which addresses this problem. You can even specify custom units if you would like, although there are many built in those you choose as well. Also the name of the step should usually give an idea of what exactly is being tested.

    For the recording of Boolean expressions, probably the simplest thing is to use a stage model that is preconfigured to connect to the data source, or you can create a new custom step based on the test of success/failure that connects to the default data source type, or you could write a tool that passes through the sequence files and change all tests pass/fail to connect their datasource.

    Hi team,

    I am trying to connect to the Oracle 9i database using VB code below:

    strConnection = "Driver = {Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};" Server = SERVERNAME; UID = username; Pwd = PASSWORD"
    Connect = New ADODB. Connection

    The servers are Windows server 2007-32 bit.

    When I checked the tab drivers in ODBC Data Source Administrator, dev server entry below:

    Considering that the UAT server has entered below:

    Hi all

    I use Microsoft Accessas as backn. When I start my presentation Services I get this error > data source name not found and no driver specified default.

    Hello

    You must create a data source name (DSN) and update the connection with the DSN name pool.

    Steps to create a DSN:

    Control Panel Goto-> tools-> Data Sources (ODBC) administration.

    Open Data Sources (ODBC) and click on the system DSN tab-> click on the Add button and select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) driver and update the name of the database, the connection tabs and database with the corresponding to your name of the comic.

  • Connect target 'Generic Data Source' to a MySQL instance

    I'm trying to connect to our TEO (2.2) instance to an instance of MySQL, but unable to do so successfully.

    The server of TEO, I loaded the MySQL provider and the ODBC driver.

    I then try to define the details of the connection to the target:

    Host name:

    Default user:

    Connection string: Provider = MySQLProv; Data Source =

    By clicking on 'OK' throws the following error: "'MySQLProv' provider is not registered on the local computer."

    Based on the error, it's for me as TEO server does not recognize this provider, but I would like to help on it got to a point where it does.

    Could you please provide me with the steps needed to get our TEO instance to connect to the DB?

    Thank you
    Mark

    Solution:

    (1) install the Cherry City Software provider: http://cherrycitysoftware.com/CCS/Providers/ProvMySQL.aspx

    (2) configure the following connection string: Source Provider = OleMySql.MySqlSource.1; Data =; Initial Catalog =

    Thanks a lot C Roberts!

    The connection string contains "MySQLProv", that you actually used what?

    Looking at the example of c# code (and VB.net) I see this as the provider:

    OleMySql.MySqlSource.1

    Have you tried that?

    It also looks like to

    Data source =.

    Initial Catalog =

    If you arrive there, would probably be best to prosecute TAC for review.

  • Add a data source to cfm 11/Tomcat

    It is possible to add a to the tomcat container jdbc data source runs an instance of CF 11?  If so, is any documentation on how to do it?

    Thanks in advance...

    Ok. To answer your original question, yes it is possible to add a jdbc data source to the container tomcat running in ColdFusion. I will illustrate this by adding a PostgreSQL JDBC data source. Be aware that the following is experimental and, as far as I know, not documented elsewhere. Take notes that will help you, if necessary, to cancel the procedure and return the system to its original state.

    The steps are:

    1) download and install the latest version of PostgreSQL for your operating system database management system; make sure it is running. Write down the password you give to the server.

    (2) download the driver JDBC41 of PostgreSQL, version 9.3 - 1102. It is the version that corresponds to Java 1.7 and 1.8, the versions of Java Virtual Machine from ColdFusion 11. The download is a JAR file. Copy it to the Tomcat lib directory located at {CF_HOME_DIRECTORY} \runtime\lib\.

    3) you now add the driver details for the Tomcat configuration files, {CF_HOME_DIRECTORY}\runtime\conf\context.xml and {CF_HOME_DIRECTORY}\runtime\conf\web.xml. }} Make a backup of these files before continuing.

    Open the context.xml file in a text editor and add the following element just before the last end tag:

    Type = "javax. Sql.DataSource' driverClassName = "org.postgresql.Driver"

    URL = "" jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1:5432 / booktown ' "

    username = "cf_user" password = "cf_password" maxActive = "20" maxIdle = "10" maxWait = "-1" / >

    Open the web.xml file in the text editor and add the following element just before the last end tag:

    example of postgreSQL data source

    JDBC/postgres

    javax.sql.DataSource

    Container

    (4) the resource XML element points to the URL of the database of the booktown. I will now add this database and user for the PostgreSQL server.

    Download booktown.sql. Use it to install the database of the booktown on the command line by running a PostgreSQL command as

    psql-f /path/to/booktown.sql - U postgres template1

    If it works without a hitch, then the booktown database will be installed. The user is initially the default superuser "postgres". Use it to connect on the command line:

    psql - U postgres

    It will ask you to enter the password, the one you threw down earlier. The command line begins with the command prompt:

    Postgres = #.

    Now, create another user, cf_user, also on the command line, corresponding to the resource XML element:

    Postgres is # CREATE ROLE cf_user PASSWORD "cf_password" SUPERUSER CREATEDB CREATEROLE INHERIT LOGIN;.

    (5) you have now completed setup. Restart ColdFusion.

    To test, save the following code in a CFM file and run it.

    username = "cf_user";

    password = "cf_password";

    classObj = CreateObject ("java", "java.lang.Class");

    classObj.forName ("org.postgresql.Driver");

    driverManager = CreateObject ("java", "java.sql.DriverManager");

    connectionURL = "" jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1:5432 / booktown '; "

    Conn = driverManager.GetConnection (connectionURL, username, Password);

    myQuery = "" SELECT * FROM books ";"

    preparedStatement = conn.prepareStatement (myQuery);

    RS = PreparedStatement.executeQuery()) ();

    While (RS. Next {}

    WriteOutput (RS. "GetString ("title") &"
    ");

    }

    RS. Close();

    Conn.Close ();

    To cancel the procedure above, first stop ColdFusion. Then remove the jar from Tomcat lib direct and restore the context.xml and web.xml to their original state. You can also uninstall the PostgreSQL database management system.

  • Connection of the server data source that is configured in the DirectJTDataSource_management.properties file?

    Hello

    I am new to the CSC ATG and when I installed CCS, 3 Server instances were created for Production servers, edition and Agent.

    The installation of the ATG contains a DirectJTDataSource_management.properties file that contains a JNDIName property with a default value (JNDIName = ATGMysqlDS).

    Data source from the server, which the DirectJTDataSource_management.properties should point (Production, edition or Agent)?

    He points to the schema of the edition.

  • Stand-alone WLS, JDBC, never outputs connections data source

    11.1.2.1 JDev

    My application connects to the Oracle database to do business. I also have a servlet that is called to create and view PDF reports. When the application starts, and every time the servlet is called, an "Active connection" to my JDBC data source. By default, there are 15 connectsions in the connection pool. I see thins in the stand alone WLS Admin Console: Services/DataSources / 'mydatasource' / Connection Pool. Data sources and surveillance shows the number of current connections to my data source. As I monitor the number of "Active connections" and launch myl application in WLS, run reports, etc. I see the number of connections increase. However, the number of "Active connections" never decreases. Even when I log out of the application and exit the browser the number of connections remains the same. I start my application again, and it uses more "active" connections When all connections are exhausted, I get an error.

    java.lang.RuntimeException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: no currently available in the MisseeDS pool resources to allocate to applications, please don't increase the size of the pool and try again.

    I increase the size of the pool and I can run the application again. However, he continues to use "active connections" and never gives them. Finally a failure once again. Of course, stop and start the stand-alone WLS resets everything.

    Can someone tell me how to retrieve the unused "active connections" so my request to not use not all of them and then get an error?

    Thank you, Steve

    Looks like you're using a data source connection in your servlet report but do not call Connection.Close in order to release it to the pool. Can provide you a sample code?

  • Is it possible to delete a data source?

    I created a data source with the same name. Is it possible to delete?

    By 'data source', I assume you mean a short data store (i.e., created by creating the short-cmd-ds).

    You can remove a short in this way data store:

    1. stop recording data (stop-ds short-cmd command).

    2 detach the data store (ds off short-cmd command). This unregisters the short server data store.

    3. go into where the data files have been created and delete the directory with the command delete from your operating system.

    The directory of data files will be named index (for example, testindexes). By default, they are created in the directory of data-server/short.

  • Creating a display with a data source object

    Hello guys,.

    Is there a way to create a View object in JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 using an instead of a JDBC data source connection string? When I select new-->--> view object ADF business components, it seems that the Research Assistant for a default database connection.

    I wonder if there is a way to create a display object and specify something like ' java: comp/env/jdbc/xxxxDS ' as a data source. I know that the Module of the Application can be configured to point to a JDBC data source and then WLS can be configured to use the JDBC data source, but I wonder if it's the only way to go.

    Thank you

    David
    I know that the Module of the Application can be configured to point to a JDBC data source and then WLS can be configured to use the JDBC data source, but I wonder if it's the only way to go.

    Yes, at design time you only use inside JDeveloper JDBC connections to connect to the DB and create components ADF BC - after all development is done alone without a WLS environment.
    At run time, your AM can be configured to use a data source or JDBC connection.

  • Taskflow have model (using the view object instances) of two data sources

    JDeveloper Version: 11.1.2

    We have a flow of single task that has built pages on two modules of the Application that are based on two different data sources.
    If the default activity in the workflow uses a display Instance of AM belonging to a particular data source object.
    Browsing later, we reach a page that uses instances of object of another display AM belonging to a different data source, the framework does NOT deliver from the SQL statement against this source of data rather than the data source used in the default activity.

    How can it resolve to the appropriate data sources?

    Thanks in advance,
    Nini

    Nini,

    Yes, it's the way things are meant to run:

    http://one-size-doesn
    {: identifier of the thread = 1012099}

    Definition data control range for the workflow to the 'remote' change the behavior?
