Definition of the erroneous view importing view with text column expression

Hello

I use SQL DM v 3.3.0.744.
When importing a view designer and the column has a column expression, a frowned upon request is created.
Example generated by the designer:
CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW VIEW6
+ (COL1) +.
AS SOME substr (col1, 55, 1)
OF TAB1 T1
The following text is generated by DM:
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW VIEW6 (COL1)
IN SELECT
COL1 COL1;
The following remarks:
-l' column expression is not repeated.
-the underlying table/view is not included.

Can you trigger a bug for that?

Joop

Hi Joop,

Can you trigger a bug for that?

Our knowledge of the designer is limited, so it's better create you a service request and describe how you created this view and/or provide an example in the form of exported the repository designer example.
Maybe that's the best export to do as a text file.
The same applies for this Migration of Designer: bad alias for the table/view used in views

    I would like to connect with the database instead of "writing" all the tables in the bearings inside the Jquery page

    This is usually done with a CMS (content management system). There are commercial products CMS like WordPress, Joomla and perch. You create one or several layouts and then create pages of these page layouts using the CMS. In this way, it is possible to have hundreds of pages, each with unique content, but a page layout that can be managed in a place of sharing.

    CMSs on shelf don't require programming skills. Otherwise, some of us write our own CMS with custom functions, but this requires back-end, as with PHP programming.

  • View with a column that is derived from a function

    We can create a view with a column being filled using a pl/sql script, which uses 2 other columns on the same line as input?

    Example,
    Let's say I have a vision with

    Reg. Don't | Total | Customer account | Flag of billing. CodeFn
    $1234 45 2109 Y < value in this column would be what returns the expected script pl/sql, after using the Reg # (1234) and Total (45) as entries >
    $1236 15 2101 Y < input values would be 1236 & 15 >.

    Basically, I would like the script to generate a number that is returned in this column rather than do a simple Select stmt to extract columns from other tables/views.

    Edit: The point of view does not display right... Here is a picture

    Thank you!

    $1236 15 2101 Y .

    Of course, you can use a function that you created in the same way that you would use a built-in function:

    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW     view_x
    AS
    SELECT  reg_no
    ,     total
    ,     customer_account
    ,     billing_flag
    ,     my_function (reg_no, total)     AS codefn
    FROM     table_x
    ;

    You cannot reference the procedures or anyonymous blocks in a CREATE VIEW statement (or any other SQL statement of stinks); only functions.

    Basically, I would like the script to generate a number that is returned in this column rather than do a simple Select stmt to extract columns from other tables/views.

    I don't know what you're saying here.
    As long as the function has no arguments, or make any kind of DML or DDL, then you can use it in the definition of the view, as stated above. The function failed to contain SELECT statements.
    Your notice must be based on other tables or views. If she does not really need anything from any other table, you can base your opinion on double. A CREATE VIEW statement must contain a query, and a query in Oracle must refer to a table or a view.

  • GetLength errors on CLOB. Retrieves the size of a table with CLOB columns

    Hello

    I try to find the size of a CLOB to a table column and get the error

    PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in the call to "GETLENGTH.

    When you try to use dbms_lob.getlength. Here is the code

    declare
    number num.
    Start
    for rec in (select xmlupload from FILE_TABLE where file_table_id = 33635) loop
    NUM: = dbms_lob.getLength (rec.xmlupload);
    end loop;
    dbms_output.put_line (num);
    end;

    Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi

    I'm actually trying to find the size of a table with CLOB columns, is there an easy way to do this Besides using getlength and without having to contact the Administrators (they are outsourced)?

    It works fine on my computer, the version is also 10g.

    SQL> declare
      2  num number;
      3  begin
      4 for rec in (select cntnt from ims_toms_msge where rownum<3) loop
      5  num := dbms_lob.getLength(rec.cntnt);
      6  dbms_output.put_line(num);
      7  end loop;
      8
      9  end;
     10  /
    3837
    3837

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    You should check if xmlupload is the CLOB data type.
    In addition, if you just want to get the CLOB size, you can use LENGTH() as well, you will get the same result;

    SQL>  select length(cntnt), dbms_lob.getLength(cntnt) from ims_toms_msge where rownum<2;

    LENGTH(CNTNT) DBMS_LOB.GETLENGTH(CNTNT)

  • Change the definition of the materialized view while maintaining access for users uninteruupted

    Hello

    We have a system report and the need to change the report definition mv access - like to do it without interruption.

    Is this possible?

    the sql behind mv was change picks up so column of another table.

    Have you heard but not used for dbms_redefinition tables

    Thank you

    It is built in the Oracle solution for this one, where you can edit the definition WITHOUT interruption. You can drop the materialized view existing with the clause "save table" and rebuilt the view materialized on 'predefined table'. I googled this example for you

    create materialized view mv1 as select dept , count(*) as cnt from scott.emp;

    We want to change the statement so that only dept more 5 will be calculated

    drop materialized view mv1 preserve table;

    Notice that PRESERVE TABLE clause - mv1 table is not droped - single layer mview.

    desc mv1

    now, we create the mview with a different query on top of the existing table

    create materialized view mv1 on prebuilt table as  select dept , count(*) as cnt from scott.emp where dept > 5;

    Notice that on prebuilt table the mview uses the existing object clause.

    exec dbms_mview.refresh_mview('mv1');

  • Create Materialized View ORA-01723: columns of length zero are not allowed

    I am trying to create a materialized view that derives from a column of a function and I get: ORA-01723: columns null are not allowed.

    I use 10 gr 2 with the following definition (simple version):

    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW ACES
    SELECT
    function_name (column_name) alias_de_colonne
    FROM table_name;

    I even tried to cast it as below:

    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW ACES
    SELECT
    Cast (function_name (column_name) AS VARCHAR2 (200)) alias_de_colonne
    FROM table_name;

    My function has an exception to return a value, even if no value are.

    I looked everywhere for the solution. Someone at - there a way around this problem? I really need my function to calculate the column because it has business rules that I can't join in my definition of the materialized view. My only hope around this is to insert values into a table and then create a materialized table view, I don't want to do that if someone has a solution around this.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Create table works, create materialized view only - long column names?

    Hello.

    I have no probs creating a table as well: -.
    CREATE TABLE blah
    (
    DEVICE_ID
    )
    in select
    "Device_ID" AS DEVICE_ID
    "of"sum" Device"@ed_link_3
    where "Device_ID" < 5;

    But when I try to create a materialized view:
    Blah1 CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW
    (
    DEVICE_ID
    )
    < various materialized view parms >
    in select
    "Device_ID" AS DEVICE_ID
    "of"sum" Device"@ed_link_3
    where "Device_ID" < 5;

    It fails with errors: -.
    ORA-04052: error occurred when searching to the top of the remote object Aggregate.Device@ED_LINK_3
    ORA-01948: length of the name of the identifier (31) exceeds maximum (30)

    Is there a way to get around this?
    Is the problem with the columns of the remote table of device, which I do NOT need to import to have column names that are longer than 30 characters?

    For now, I want only the Device_ID column which is a simple 9 characters long.

    Oh, and the remote database is MySQL.
    I'm uncomfortable with the < parms of materialized view > as they work fine when I choose a different remote table with only short column names.

    Thank you.

    To my knowledge, you have the option
    (a) create view (with shortened column names or only with desired columns if they are already less than 30 char limit) side of mysql
    (b) use dbms_passthrough to force the analysis to be done on mysql (as in the example provided by SY here use dbms_passthrough to create a view )
    However, I prefer to stick to one), because with dbms_passtrhough, you retrieve row by row.

    Best regards

  • Stay on the Page/move with text/pull on my hair

    Dear friends,

    I asked this question before and yet I'm still terrible problems with my graphics flies over the text document when I add more text.  I'm not able to find the archives with the answers that people have written to me.

    I need to write a series of laboratory reports and using a terrible time amount to try to put the images in place. I do not receive a flow of text running.  Even in sections that I created, some of the images floated back up to the top of the section and are sitting there tight.  I am not able to move.

    Here is an example of a problem: I inserted a scatterplot and written my text.  I click on the tab "move with the text."  The Text wrap tab chooses spontaneously "Inline with the text.  My plot is moved to the left column - but I don't want that here.  I need to add a small annotation.  I'm not able to merge the plot toward the Center where the function of "In line with text" does not allow this.

    Basically, I try and change all the figures and plots to "Move with the text", but they tend to change to 'Stay on the Page' when I look away.

    Now, I wonder if I shouldn't open a new document in layout? This way I can add all my numbers for the section of the results in place holders.  But what I can combine "Text Layout" sections "Page Layout"?

    I really want to go back to Microsoft Word.  I would like to become proficient with Pages - and of course to learn my lab equipment!

    Each object, with the exception of a table when it is inserted in a document of v5.6.2 Pages, has its object set to Move with text placement and its set to automatic text wrapping. To keep your images of richocheting around your document out of your control, or push a the other, visit the reorganize with the selected image tab and change skin to zero. Now you can place pictures anywhere in your body text.

    Unlike Word, Pages v5.6.2 doesn't have a convenient annotation tool, and we need to position and an oblong text box that contains the annotation group - under the image.

    Hello

    The two has a different function, as InDesign adds the overflow without showing the text in the container but in Muse, the container would be extended with text.

    Each row in the table emp thie represents a separate employee. I guess other columns in the emp table might be birth_date, social_security_number and status (by example, 'Active', 'Leave', 'complete'). Here's what an employee has (at least) one of. If there is a one-to-many relationship between an employee and an attribute, then you probably want another table for this attribute.

    BISHOP-> EMP_ID, MGR_ID, MGR_NAME

    There is a one-to-many relationship between employees and managers? In other words, an employee may have 2 or more managers? If Yes, then you need another table.
    If there is only a one-to-one relationship between employees and managers (in other words, if an employee is never more than 1 Manager) so why don't you just have a mgr_id column in the emp table?
    Managers are also used for? (This is often the case, as in scott.emp and hr.employees.) If so, do not store their names in the EME and tables of mgr. Store name (and date of birth and other information) in the table emp only and, if you need a table of Bishop, just the emp_id and mgr_id column.

    SAL-> EMP_ID, SALARY

    There is a one-to-many relationship between the employees and wages? In other words, an employee may have 2 or more treatments? If so, how will you use the values? Is a special treatments in some way, as it will be used more often than others? (In other words, you may have a current and past wages salary, but the last wages are rarely used.)
    If you never have more than 1 salary for a given employee, why not just have a sal column in the emp table?

    EXP-> EMP_ID, EXP_IN_MNTHS, EXP_IN_YRS

    There is a one-to-many relationship between the employees and what whether you store in this table?

    etc. with more tables

    What is the best based on

    (1) performance and data recovery
    (2) ease of use
    (3) maintainability

    A one-to-many relationship requires an additional table. If an employee can have up to 3 managers, don't have mgr1, mgr2 and mgr3 columns in the emp table. Use a separate table, with up to 3 lines for the same employee, instead.
    For 1-1 relationships, it is usually best to not have separate tables.
