  If you get these unwanted messages in Outlook Express, go to tools | Accounts and delete accounts that you no longer use.

  POP3 is supposed to download but it can be configured to leave the mail on the server.

  Look at the tools/account/Server settings.
  (Or three_bars_icon / tools/account settings/Server settings)

  If you leave your mail on the server (see image) you must mark a way to remove them. either by age or (preferably) by you deleting them or both.

  If you delete the Inbox in the "hidden" directory, as you suggest, the only result would be that would create a vacuum and all mails on server should start to download.

  If you have left on the server and you want to remove, mark them in the Inbox and delete. Then empty the trash and Inbox, and of garbage compact.

  How can I return these controls? I was working on my emails one night and all of a sudden, they disappeared, and I can't work with my emails. I was using Thunderbird on my old computer, so I continued with it when I got my new Surface Pro 3, but finally changed his Outlook that came with it.   Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

  Compact all folders as described below.

  To avoid this in the future:

  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

  It's always haapening, if you substitute any element on the page and later master you reapply the same or another master. I would NEVER say to replace any itme master page in the page. Instead create another master based on the first, make the substitutions and apply this master. Substitutions on the pages should be avoided in all cases, not only for the problem you described above, other issues of accessibility will also come into play.

  individual or group short?  My computer did not work for about 6 weeks & after that I set myself I got tons of e-mails intended to remove.  Anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

  I must have changed something I shoud not have.  I was messin around to change things and it didn't work.  Now all my emails new message in the sent folder and not the Inbox?

  Check your message rules and see if you set up a message rule to shunt the in this folder.  It would be valuable to know what e-mail program, you are using and what version of Windows you have.  It is very difficult to give a useful answer when these information are not known.

  You may be able to download the drivers from the web site of the manufacturer of the computer.
