Delete and transfer of files to blackBerry Smartphones

Hello world!

I am moving my old (but expensive) curve 8520 in a new bold 9900 and let me know how it is possible (safely) to transer files (mail, contacts, numbers, etc.) from my old phone to the new. My idea was to make a back up of my 8520 and download on the bold 9900. What is the right way to transfer files?

Thank you very much for your advice!

I'll tell you exactly the steps I take.

Open BlackBerry Messenger (if you use it) and go to Options > backup and backup your BBM contacts to the media card.

Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and device > backup and perform a full backup.

Follow this link for the use of the switch device Wizard to completely all settings, preferences, apps, messages, calendar, contacts, etc. from the old unit to the new.

Then remove the SIM card from the old unit to the new.

Move the old unit to the new press card (if your new device includes a newer version, more big media card Let's dealing separately, just ask.)

Then, if something were to go bust, you have a backup on the PC in reserve, if necessary.

How can I transfer photos from the memory of the device to the press card?  Also, is there a way to mass - delete old text messages?  Thanks for any help.

You can read the memory of the device and the media PC card, if you have enabled mass storage (Options > memory).

Then, you can simply drag and drop the files from to the other.

Or, you can access a file name in the device memory and click Menu > move.

In your SMS folder, scroll to the top of the screen or on any date bar separator, click Menu > delete all the prerequisites.

Or, tap the first message that you want to remove and then another tap above or below, to create a 'chain' of messages highlight, then click the red X at the bottom of the screen to mass delete selected ones.

  • PDF FILES of blackBerry Smartphones

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    First...

Second... to ensure that the files are really attachments or you have an application add-on to make them if they are not. In native mode, the BB can make PDFs only for as long as they remain an attachment. Once detached, they become just another file on your BB... need an application that can make them.

If they really have attachments, then I suggest that the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • Text files creating blackBerry Smartphones

A simple requirement: I want to be able to create a text file on my computer, transfer it to my BlackBerry, then search it later (for example the list of movies, I have "Sahara"?).

Firstly I find word go does not work, I can't create a folder on the BlackBerry. I need an update for $50, after paying $600 for the BlackBerry.

I can't find any instructions on how to create the files and transfer them. The Manual deals with music and photos. Is it just a toy?

Frustrated and very annoyed, can anyone help? Please, I beg you.

I finally have a working system.  I went on the site downloaded and DataViz Documents to go Premium, but there is an easier way. If you open Word to go and select the menu there is an option to try Premium for a few weeks, it would have been nice to know that. I had all sorts of problems trying to activate after purchase. A lot of the instructions are confusing and the activation key does not work. Obviously the key doesn't care if zeros or SST (number or letter) is used.  The problem has proved that for some reason, I got the Documents go version 1, but the error message was a bad key.

I then re - download Documents to go Premium 2, PDF to go and Documents to files (so much for synchronization with your computer).  This time, he seemed to turn on. The key was maybe still in memory somewhere. The PDF to go icon does not appear, and was in the download section and I moved it to the Applications.

I printed the Documents go manual but had to write in page numbers, because they are not numbered which makes the index type of unusable.

I also printed user guide BlackBerry 9700 (323 pages) but have not found that it is as useful as I had hoped.

I installed the Desktop Manager and the Documents to go Desktop on my computer and have backed up the BlackBerry, the copied files and photos throughout and have synced files.

On my computer, in a list of words in my films, I added bookmarks to movies beginning with A, B... to XYZ. which makes them easy to move on. There are also shortcuts in the manual to skip pages and research (or was it find?) function in the menu. Now I can find any movie in the list easily.

It is possible to use the BlackBerry as a PDA, but you won't find much help in the manual.

  • Can I partition my C: drive without data loss and transfer user files to the new?

I have a pre-installed windows 7 Home Premium(64-bit) on a computer laptop DELL studio. Unfortunately, it only has drive C and no partition at all. Therefore, it is possible to create partitions without risk of loss of data (System and user)? If so, is it possible to transfer all the files from the user to the new one system files and all stay in C.

    Rodney

Partitioning itself has no impact on performance. You can get slightly better performance by how you distribute folders and files on a partitioned system but I would not partition to eliminate program freezes. It's the wrong way to tackle the problem.

There are many reasons for freezes.

Freezes occur mainly because the task or tasks require more memory or one that is immediately available to the capacity of the CPU. The solution is to increase what is available or to reduce demand. You can do both. How to do this is much more complicated. It depends on what element of hardware is causing the bottleneck. If memory is limited, it can be simply remedied by adding RAM. If the problem is the capacity of the CPU, you will find that increasing capacity is often not practical to replace the often average CPU processor replaced motherboard, operating system and other equipment doing expensive exercise... Change the hard drive could help, but switching to an SSD is also expensive. If the processor is the problem, then demand reduction is often the way to go.

If you are resolved to reduce the demand, it can significantly improve the performance if you delete the browser add ons such as toolbars and search engines that are not necessary. Most of the time when you install the new software you will find recommended add ons. You must learn to say no when they duplicate what you already have. Add on can hide malware, including spyware, reports how you use your computer. Do not believe the bland statements like 'works quietly in the background. It's more than one spin. Multitasking may be good, but it can provide performance problems. It translates into a surplus of supply over demand.

Another cause of gel can be for lack of material, most commonly, the hard drive, RAM wiring associates or defective. These flaws are often easy to detect, but not always the case. You must also make sure that you have the latest version of the BIOS and motherboard drivers. They can be updated on a brand new computer if the person selling you the computer is not updated immediately before restore you the computer.

If Frost always involves the same programs uninstall and reinstall the program, and you make sure you have the latest updates. You can also use Google to find out if others have or have had the same problem. Focus your search by using keywords, descriptions of the extracts may event viewer and limit the results to those within 12 months.  Many programs have dedicated forums where other users may be able to help.

A gel is often the result of a malware infestation. In this case do not rely on your existing software. You need to perform analyses with software like Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. Perverse freezes may be caused by security software. Norton and McAfee are known to be involved, in particular where the computer has limited the capacity of RAM and CPU.

Poor or no maintenance will result in poor performance. You must have a maintenance routine. This can include compaction (some e-mail programs) and should include the cleanup with cCleaner and disk cleanup and defragmentation. You must make sure that the partitions have at least 20% of disk space. You do not defragment SSDS.

You must use the tools on your computer to look for clues as to what is happening. More you use, the more you understand what they say. The most useful tool is event viewer, although many users, it is difficult to interpret.

You will find many sites on the internet promoting the use of registry cleaners and optimizers to maximize the performance of your computer. They are promoted by the spin and the hype. The truth is that their use causes finally grief when you use to reinstall windows to eradicate the mistakes of the system they have caused.

  • Records and the e-mails of blackBerry Smartphones

When I move an email to a folder on my blackberry, it places the mail in the folder and keeps one in the Inbox.  When I delete the one in the Inbox it deletes the folder as well.  How can I prevent this from happening without having to keep 1 million messages in my Inbox on the blackberry?

    Thanks for any help,

    Belinda

Look carefully.  The icon next to the message that you moved should be slightly different than the one for e-mail that is in your Inbox - more like a record that an envelope.

By default, the message list displays all messages.  You have to go into Options--> General Options (from the list of Messages) and 'Hide the Messages filed' the value yes.  Now, you will not see any e-mail to you move to a folder, unless you forcibly to consult the record.

Of course, the conversaion is useless unless you are on a BES since BIS does not support files - which may be the reason for the behavior you describe!

  • Problems of free file to blackBerry Smartphones

I watched everything on every Web site and I can't increase my free file above 9 MB. My free file once a battery pull is 8690391 bytes. I have a BB Pearl 8130. I have a 4gig card that holds all my music, photos and videos. I have emptied the deleted messages, call logs, cleared caches, removed everything that I do not use. I have 3 third-party applications: Facebook, UberTwitter and Epocrates Rx, I have only 8 things in my saved emails (text, email and 1 MMS) folder. I have tasks that recur, calendar and address book, memos (6) is currently no duplicates. I removed the MySpace, Google Search, Twitterberry, Blackberry Messenger and Yahoo Messenger.  The only things that appear in my Blackberry Applications (Advanced Options) 4.5.0 Core Applications, Blackberry 4.5.0 system, BrickBreaker, browser, E-mail Setup Wizard, Epocrates RX, Facebook (1.6), Memo Pad, password keeper, phone, tasks and UberTwitter.  I removed everything that I do not use. So what is the cause of the memory to be sucked upwards?

If you need Epocrates to work, then by all means Add.

If you look for free your file close enough you should be able to hold above free 10 MB file.

  • My drive HARD 160BG has been deleted and loads of files off itself

    Hello
I had all my music and photos on my new hard drive, then one day they removed somehow themselves. Luckily I had backups of certain things, but not about this. When I copied stuff back it says you want to crush showing that files have been deleted actually not.

The files are not hidden files and they take place. When I select all the files it says the total is 38.8 MB, but just one of the only records was more than that. Anyone know how to recover these files.

    Help, please

    Hello Debra

It will be interesting to know which laptop computer Toshiba a 160 GB HARD drive.

Anyway: it's really not easy talk if someone reports on data deleted somehow themselves. In my opinion, you should ask a friend for help that has all this in front of him and can much better deal with it. On this way, we can only speculate and you won't be size just your time.

    Good luck Debra!

  • Files to blackBerry Smartphones are frozen. BB TORCH

My BB Torch 9800 is facing a mess right now. I have downloaded some themes for my phone to customize. I don't check if its compatible with my phone. And after that I installed and use the themes I downloaded, other applications, and the files cannot be opened. My files are frozen except only text messages and media. I can't open up my options to change my theme and remove the one causing the problem. I tried to reset it. Both the way soft and hard reset it but its still the same. Only to make it worse, my phone seems to be easily in low battery. I tried to remove the theme on my computer but the themes can be seen here. I also tried to remove my memory card and insert it in the other phone. But the themes are not there either. Maybe the problem is in my phone memory. How can I solve this problem if the files are frozen? Please help me...

When you get a chance, do a battery pull.  When the red light goes on the front of the phone, hold down the back button all the time while the phone is in boot.  When initialization is complete, the phone goes into safe mode.

  • Files WAV blackBerry Smartphones appears as unknown

I am new to the Blackberry environment, and how to manage WAV files. After reading several reviews I have still not found an answer to my quesiton. I have Nortel Unified messaging that can send a WAV file to my e-mail client. When I get the WAV file via my Blackberry it as unknown. Is there a solution. Works on all our Windows PDA and iPhone but does not work on the Blackberry PDA. Personally, I have a Blackberry Storm. We do not have a system of Blackberry enterprize if you need one solution other than buying the software enterprize. All proposals/solutions are appreciated. I really don't want to make the web interface solution, but is available with our email system. I want to be able to open the file on my Blackberry as with any other device. Thank you.

I spent several hours with the support of the RIM (very nice people), but the problem with the BIS service is they say the file is coming to them incorporated. They have no way around what they do not accept files incorporated. It is interesting that it comes to IPhones and other phones Windows WITHOUT problem in reading the. WAV file and comes as a non-integrated attachment. I'm really frustrated that it seems to be the solution or THE solid answers. I should be grateful if you would check in this fruther that there should be one alternative to the solution Exchange/BES from RIM. I like the storm but you want to just be able to receive WAV files I can listen without any limitation, nor how they are received. Any one out there is a solution? Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem.

  • Ringtones and pictures to save the blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

I just bought the BlackBerry Curve 8330 with Verizon (4.5.0). I've never used a BlackBerry before, so I understand.  I'm running a problem when I take a picture.  After I took a picture, I get a message that says "file system full" and "unable to save".  I encountered a similar problem when I sent a sound file to myself, and when I clicked on the option to make a ringtone, I saw a similar error message.

I went through the steps on the site Web of BlackBerry to change some of my settings to maximize space, but it did not help.  I have a few photos on the device that have been transferred during my last phone, but it is really not only a large number (about 20).  I think that there is a larger capacity memory than that! I've changed settings to record on the device, but that solves nothing.

I also downloaded a few applications that have been registered and operate without problem (although this error has also occurred before that I downloaded those).

Any help?  I wouldn't think that I have to buy a bigger and just memory card to save photos.

    Thank you
