  The default "Save as" dialog Acrobat DC is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems. You can try to disable this feature to see if this brings your backup in the back of the box: open Acrobat Preferences, then go to the "General" category and uncheck "show the online storage when you save files:

I've updated some sixteen days ago or so and since then I have had this problem.  Suggestions of what the problem may be, suggestions of either try to go back or do a complete reinstall?  All this is very frustrating for an old man, just trying to make good photos!  Any help would be appreciated.

  Recommend to reset preferences to default Photoshop

  Press and hold the keys Alt + Ctrl + Shift (Windows) or Option + command + shift (Mac OS) you launch Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. New preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.

  It happens every time I want to move a file to the trash or in my computer... I have "trusted sites" which I get this file type all the time...

  Can it be disabled because I know what I want

  I completed the change by following the instructions. There is no change, BUT I noticed that:

  1. If I download a PDF in Chrome, it goes to my "Downloads" folder If I try to move this to a file or my office, I still get the warning.

  2. If I have "save under" the PDF file to the desktop, it does NOT ask or the warning does not occur.

  Or, I stumbled upon a "Workaround": just save it to the desktop...

  I made the changes to EI and restarted everything. The alert is always there in IE, and Chrome...

  Also, I turned off Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) protection and and rebooted and its makes no difference.

  I'm confused. I use Chrome 95% of the time.
  IE always control parameter related to this issue, even if I use another browser.

  I returned my IE back to the protected State.

  MSE protection turned on.

  I returned to the 'normal '.

  I think I'll let this one issue at the moment, but thanks for your help.

• A JPEG of script "save under".

  I do work for my business and I need to do what is essentially the stop-motion animation... I have my Basic .psd file, I move a layer inside slightly, save it as a .jpeg and repeat. Repeat, repeat and repeat.

  However, it takes much too long to get through dialogue "save under", change the file name and change the type of file in jpeg every time.

  I don't know anything about scripting (writing OR using them), but I've read it's the solution to my problem here... a script that will save a jpeg copy of my file .psd with a new name.

  In addition, it would be GREAT if that can be assigned to a key or combination of keys... as I hit him command + ~ and it runs the script.

  The files will be saved in the same folder as the original document.

• How do you "save under" newbie

  I'm new to Lightroom, but no photo editing.  I played with LR3 beta. I love the results I got from my Nikon D40 RAW files.  But the necessary workflow for "save under" the RAW file edited to a JPG is frustrating. I export the JPG in the same folder as the RAW format, but it does not appear in the catalogue until I have import it. This is ridiculus. Is it possible to do it automatically, or is there another function I don't understand? Any help would be appreciated.

  You must have 'Treat as separate files JPEG images' defined in the preferences, and when you export, you must have "Add to catalogue" checked to automatically put back in.

  Looks like there could be a problem with the hard drive. its certainly worth running some tests on if possible. It is a dell machine you may be able to run a hard drive test when the computer starts by using the f8 key, but if not you must download a free software called theultimatebootcd and burn it to a cd and then start the computer on the cd and use the software on the disk to perform checks on the hard drive.   I think maybe it's a coincidence, that nothing is installed with ExportPDF, so nothing should have changed your web browser. That said, you can clear the cache of the browser and then re-open your browser. (What browser do you use?)

  You can also try to restart your computer, if the browser is restarted does not solve the problem. But still, I don't think that this problem is related to the ExportPDF.

• Z3 phone won't save any type of picture file

  For about five days now my Z3 phone won't save any type of photo file using any method I can think of. I deleted a lot of memory, tried to use the diagnosis Album (no joy), saved on my laptop (no problem detected during the process), cleared the cache and junk files, I don't know what to try next. It will save all the pictures taken by the camera, will not save the screenshots, wallpapers, downloads, transfers - any photo file type whatsoever.

  Try to print a Web page or a selection from them.
  When 'file' - select 'print' on the tabs of Mozilla, it doesn't. The print menu appears, but when 'print' clicked, the menu box "save under" appears. When "save under" is closed, a dialog box appears saying "unknown error during printing. Cannot print Web page unless a screen saver (ie the entire screen). This has happened only recently (update may). Tried it on Windows Explorer and all is ok

  After checking the problem existed in all places - found silly finger pain. When selecting 'print' noticed "Selected printer" had been changed from my normal i865 of "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer"!

  Scenario: I used Barcode Scanner to scan the barcode for some software (an Android .apk) files. He gave me:
  -Send an email to someone
  -SMS to someone
  -Open in the browser

  So, I did the third. He then asked me: "native browser or Firefox? The native browser these back on the market.

  Expected result: I assumed that Firefox would have done the same thing.
  Result: Firefox displayed a large block of ugly text.

  And there is no function "save under" so I can record it and open it from there! Where is the Save function under? I don't want to save as a PDF, I just save the file as I downloaded it.

  (Bonus points, please also tell me how to change file associations).

  Sorry, there is no command "save the Page under" mobile Firefox menu. If you know a web page with a link to the file, you can press and hold on the link and choose 'Save link'.

  Normally the Firefox would automatically record an APK file and allow you to install it, but it requires the web server send the correct "Content-type" header. Some web servers do not send header and Firefox does not know the file type. We will try to improve this experience in future versions.

  My "save under" in CS5 is no longer in a new usable file.   It records as simply a 'file', which can then be opened.  Does anyone know how to get the "save under" restored?

  Another thing: uncheck this option in the Windows Folder Options dialog box so that you can SEE the file extensions in the Explorer and file open/save dialog boxes.  Which helps reduce confusion.

  When I try to open the .cp file I had already worked on today I now get the following messages series:
  
  1 C:\Documents and settings/vsutherl/My Documents\My Captivate Projects\game\game2.cp already exists.
  You want to overwrite the file or save it to a new file?
  
  When I select "Overwrite" or a file save as, I get the following in response message:
  
  Adobe Captivate cannot open 'game2.cp' because it is not a type of supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an attachment to e-mail and has not been correctly decoded).
  
  This started happening after I tried to click on the game2.exe file to review the project in its final form (autonomous), but click on the file .cp by mistake, which was already open.
  
  Now, all four of the projects (which are clones of each other with simple text for each project edits) receive the same error message. I can longer open all source files (.cp) to make additional changes. This represents * weeks * to work and I can't start from scratch to rebuild all four projects - once again. I had many problems with these projects (by messages before here).
  
  Other projects (totally separate and apart from these 4) open correctly. However, when corrupt game2.cpgot he caused all other files gameX.cp to receive the same error message. resulting no not a single file is corrupt but all 4 even though the problem that was initially detected was then an attempt to (re) open game3.cp (although already open).
  
  How to overcome this type of file corruption? I use Windows 2000 and Captivate 3.

  I found the reason of the error (he says with a bit of complications). My hard drive full after copying game1 to create game2; Game3 and game4. My pc is a corporate pc standard-issue with only a 4 GB drive (although I do graphic and web development), causing the hard drive fills up quickly. Once I deleted some files from my hard drive I was indeed able to open each of the files gameX.cp. And while I understand why I would get an error message 'file corrupted' I wish that I had received a 'no space available' message instead. It would have saved a lot of time, trouble and effort (not to mention the frustration). I thank all of you for your quick response to my original post, it is really appreciated! Vince

• I want to change the file name format "save under" so the date and time are first.

  When I select a few emails and then select "Save as" to keep a copy on my computer, the name of the file that is created has the date and time at the end of the file name of the email.
  Sample "save under" file name: "Habitat Follow Up - Bryan ([email protected]) - 2011-11-15 0744.eml.
  Is it possible to change the structure or format of the file name if the date and time of the email are initially the file name?

  Try ImportExportTools and customize the format of the file name in the options.
