Delete the old log files from IDS4210

Is it possible to delete the old files of the IDM event log? If this is not the case, what is the best way to remove them.

Thank you

Maged

By default, the old log files are deleted automatically because the system fills the disk and the file age.

You can manually "clean" by using the following procedure:

Sign in as netrangr and cd in the/usr/nr/var directory.

Run idsstop

dump/usr/bin/RM-f / * errors / * iplog / * iplog/news / * iplog/dumpster / * new / * log.* erreur.*

Run idsstart

  • Oracle Apps slow down after that deletion Apache old log files

    Hello

I deleted my old Apach log files ($INST_TOP/logs/ora/10.1.3/Apache) that I have run out of space in my Production environment.
But all of a sudden my Application behaves weird. It has become very slow.

No idea why this is happening? Is this a normal behavior after that deletion Apache log files?

Please help me emergency because it is a Production environment!

    Thank you!

    Hello

Removal of the Apache log files should be OK, and you are not supposed to get performance problems when doing so. Bounce you all services after serving the papers? You will find all errors in the Apache/database logs? What part of the application is slow?

If it comes to your production instance and the issue is really urgent, I would say that you connect a SR (we pay for Oracle support to help us with these questions!).

  • When I download an upgrade to Lightroom (e.g. LR 4 to 5 LR), can I delete the old application (LR4) from my hard drive?

I upgraded LR LR 4 to 5 in the past and then update to LR 5.5 to 5.7. My SSD drive is quite full and there is enough significant LR 4 files such as Lightroom_4_LS11_win_4_4.  Can it be deleted from my hard drive or upgrading to LR 5 somehow relies on them?

Yes, you can remove previous versions.

but do not lose their serial number.  you will need serial number of the previous version to install lr 5 in the future, if you've always wanted.

  • I created a new profile and copied the files from my old computer inside firefox. How do the new profile, just delete the old one?

I am running windows 7, I had to recover my files on an external hard drive when my old computer crashed. I created a new profile as described in the Web site of firefox and copied all the files into it. I just need to know how to use the new profile when I open firefox, just delete the old profile? Or do I have to reinstall firefox.

If you no longer have need or intention to use this older profile, then you can use the Profile Manager to delete this profile and delete the files.

    Two points:

    1. If you want to delete some installed programs, do not make
deletion of the folder they are in. That doesn't remove them only partially and
can cause problems. Remove programs by in control
    Configuration/program Panel and features.

    2. a drive of 74 GB is a tiny disk these days. There are a number of
things you can do to save space, but they are all basically
temporary and you will soon find yourself in the same situation.
The only real solution is to buy and install a larger capacity drive.
Fortunately, they are very cheap these days; You can buy a 500GB
    drive for about US $65.

  • I installed Windows 7 on a Vista machine. I want to delete the old files of Vista but system requires the permission of Mike-PC\Mike to make changes to this file. How can I get this permission?

I am convinced that the old program gives me a message about more than 500 fonts are installed everytime I open a works file.  This is my understanding of Windows 7 there is no limit on the installed fonts.  The old Vista file is more than 90 GB.  I already a copy of the file on a separate drive if something of him is never necessary.

If the Windows.old folder, the best way to remove it is with disk cleanup.

  • Cannot delete the old folder separate disk windows

I had a system OS 3 for a while, Vista, Win7 RC and Win7 Pro.

Win7 RC is pleased and I want to delete records from his drive to free up space.

I took possession of the folder (including subfolders) windows and my account is an administrator with full control account, BUT when I try to delete the old directory of windows first it says I need give permission, I click on continue, she goes through the files, and then a box indicates that I need permission from account owner Joan to continue.

I'm logged into this account. This account is me, but when I click on continue, it says access denied.

It's the same with the old directory program files.

I can't delete, or the old directory of users.

None of them is used. All are owned by mey account (there are only two accounts put in place on my PC and mine's administrator.)

I am running windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed on my E drive.

The files that I want to delete are on the c drive.

How this computer to recognize that my admin account has full right, remove the obsolete operating system?

    Thank you

Can archaeologist, you access the OS Win 7 RC?

If so, use it "Folder Options" in the control panel.

To all the "hidden files" readable.

You say that you are the administrator, you should be able to do.

You also try to remove Vista, as well?

    Do the same with this.

Why you be "denied access" is... because these system files 'hidden '.

Once this has been done, you can now in Win 7 (the one you want to keep!).

In administrative tools, select 'Create and format hard disk partitions.

Right click on the BLUE bar, drive hard 'in question.

This will give you... .with a drop-down window, containing...

    Mark the Partition as "Active".

    Change drive letter and paths.

FORMAT!             -(Third, make just... use this format.)

Extend Volume... (This will be the second to be used, if the button remove one has not already removed those'hidden Files/Folders!)

  • How can I create a new user account any movement towards it and delete the old

Win7 need to create a new user ACCT. move all the Info for it because want to rename the computer, and then delete the old user account

To create a new user profile

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.

    1. Open a user account by clicking on the button start , by clicking on the Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.

    2. Click on manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Click on create a new account.

    4. Type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

To copy files to the new user profile

After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

    1. Log on as a user other than the new user that you created or the user that you want to copy the files.

    2. Open Documents by clicking on the button start , and then clicking Documents.

    3. Click on the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.

If you don't see the Tools menu, press ALT.

    4. Click the view tab, click hidden files and folders, clear the Hide protected operating system files check box, and then click OK.

    5. Find the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed, and where ancien_nom_utilisateur represents the name of the profile you want to copy the files to.

    6. Select all the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:

      • Ntuser.dat

      • Ntuser.dat.log

      • Ntuser.ini

    7. Click the Edit menu and then click on copy.

If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    8. Look for the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where C represents the drive Windows is installed, and New_Username is the name of the new user profile you created.

    9. Click the Edit menu and then click on paste.

If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    10. Sign out and then sign back in as a new user.

If you have messages in e-mail, such as Windows Mail, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. If everything is working properly, you can delete the old profile.

    Hello

I solved the problem. It seems that you can not install on a secondary partition with in an earlier version of windows. You must restart the computer and run the installation from a dvd or other media.  Once you get the installation running you should be able to install on another partition without any problems.

    Command:

RESTORE DATABASE AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks.BAK '.

    WITH RECOVERY

    GO

    Command:

    GO

Restore multiple backups using WITH RECOVERY for the last backup

Note: The first restoration uses the NORECOVERY option restores additional is possible.  The second command restores the transaction log and then brings the database online for the use of the end user.
