  I have Windows 98 and you use Outlook Express for e-mail.  In the last days, I find that when 'remove' email, thinking it will in the file 'delete' - he's not here.  Only those e-mails I delete without opening (spam or readings) go to the file to delete.  Where are the others, and how can we fix this problem?

  First: discover | Current view. Make sure Show all Messages is enabled.

   

  Remembering that Win98 has not been supported over the years, you may just have a little corruption of dbx file.

   

  Move the messages you want to record off deleted items and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

   

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

   

  With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

   

  Compact all folders as described below.

   

   

   

  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

   

  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

I would like to know where it is so I can nuke once and for all of these emails of undead.

  FIXED by the questioner. I found a file called 'global-messages-db-sqlite' in the folder ' (user) > AppData > Roaming > Thunderbird > profiles > jt * .default.
  He showed the current date, but I suspect that it updated in the search of the original that I ran to find the files I wanted to delete. (The test email that seemed to confirm the problem indeed there successfully removed; I deleted from my Inbox but forgot to remove it from my 'Sent' folder).

This time, I went and deleted all accounts and checked to ensure that it is not at all. After getting rid of the virus, it's the same thing: none of my .exe files will open without using the monitor "open with...". ». I'm not really sure what action to take from here, I have not done much to remedy the situation, and I'm going right through the screen of "open with...". "to get to what whatever - so any suggestions or help would be very appreciated.

  I am a small business owner. I set up a private network. Instead of sharing in the 'Public' folder, I identified individual files and does the work to ensure the sharing of files.
