Deleted partition HP_Tools, upgrade to Windows 8

I have upgraded to Windows 8 Enterprise edition, with the hope of just checking out and returning to Windows 7 when the trial is up. Well, after an iso disk and installing Windows 8, I noticed that I had deleted the partition HP_Tools...

I need this partition to use for recovery.

Note that I made a disc of recovery using Hp Recovery Manager, when I bought my laptop but now Hp Recovery Manager is gone and I have a flash drive with unnecessary data (apparently). I downloaded and installed every update of the UEFI Bios, all the drivers for my laptop and the essensically it works PERFECTLY fine... but I can't use my recovery disk because I have no Hp Recovery Manager installed on my computer. When I tried I get the message "Softpaq not apply to the system, without HP Recovery Manager installed." I have Hp Recovery Manager NEED use my recovery disk.

I will note that I did successfully a NEW partition of HP_Tools, but technically it contains no useful data, a few things from BIOS and others, but not HP Recovery Manager.

Someone walk me through this please.

Thank you. I also have a

HP Pavilion g6-1a60us...

I tried and failed to install ALL available software they had for my laptop, including the crappy stuff like Cyberlink webcam and other stuff but HP Recovery Manager, that's what I can't install

ANY help would be GREATLY apprecited.

You should not really Recovery Manager installed. USB flash recovery must be bootable and includes the Recovery Manager:

    Hi Aaliyah,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

With the description, I understand that you want if we restore accidentally deleted files and programs in Windows 10 machine or not. I will certainly help you to the query.

As you mentioned that you have not saved the files and programs, it is difficult to get back them. However, you can try to find the files/folders in "Windows.old" in the operating system drive. Follow the steps below to locate "Windows.old".

    1. press on "Windows key + X", click on "Windows Explorer".

    2. click on the operating system drive (for example: drive c :)))

    3. now open 'Windows .old"file. If you can't find the file.

    4. Type "Windows.old" in the search box at top right of the screen.

    5. now try to locate files and folders that you have deleted accidentally.

  • System partitions and upgrade to Windows 7, Linux

Yesterday, I bought my first CV - ProBook 4515 s model with SLED 11 Linux preinstaled. Given that I'm not familiar with Linux systems first thing I did was to install Windows 7.

My laptop came with 4 partitions that is formatted in a file system that Windows does not recognize. I'm guessing a partition for installing Linux, two of them are system (HP_TOOLS and HP_RECOVERY) partitions and the fourth was just an empty disk. So I formatted the fourth partition and installed Windows 7.

The problem is now that I am out of system partitions, so can not access other software preinstaled and QuickLook. I tried a single partition format and rename it to HP_TOOLS and then tried to install QuickLook v. 3 but the facility reported that my system has not been supported? I don't want to mess with the other partitions in the fear that I could remove the BIOS, but want to sort this mess up and would certainly like to have some of the options that is is installed with the system.

    Any suggestions?

I think that the HP_TOOLS and HP_RECOVERY partitions are formatted as ext2 or ext3 file system, Windows cannot read. It can only read NTFS and FAT32. There is no way I can think to convert the ext2\3 to NTFS without keeping the integrity of the system. In addition, the files are all intended for linux and not Windows. He has makes no sense to do that. That said, I'm not sure if your laptop has Windows 7 drivers now.

  • HP Pavilion DV6 3122TX recovery deleted partition, need to install windows

    Hello

I have a Pavilion DV6 3122TX laptop. System would block extensively when I ever access any file, was not a virus or whatever it is, I discovered it was the HD due to the error at startup screen "error of hard disk, hard drive 1 (3F1)", I ran all the auto controls and diagnostics but nothing improved. So I formatted the disc completely deleted all partitions even recoveries and other (my bad).

My recovery disc can not be read by the laptop DVDRom Red flashes for a few seconds and then nothing happens, "said no system disk. Replace the disk and then pres any key blah blah blah... "The drive is fine I checked. I changed the boot options to boot from a CD/DVD internal.

I need as soon as possible a working windows as a temporary solution. I can't install Windows 7, it seems because of some lock (turns on it was unable to detect the HARD drive). Windows XP cannot see the player because of the requirement of AHCI driver (cannot switch back to IDE) due to the lock of the BIOS. Then I tried the method of slipstream AHCI driver, now, here's my problem I just can't find the AHCI drivers for my laptop since I can not connect to Win to check with CPUz. Can someone direct me to text-mode drivers for this laptop at the wake in winxp x 86 using NliteOS. I'll take the laptop to be fixed at a service center next month, but now I need a solution. Even if you can fix my recovery solution, it would be great.

I can access the hard disk using Linux. So the HARD drive is ok, please do not refer me to change the HARD drive that is not an option right now. (HARD drive was the problem)

    Sorry for this long post
    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

Hard drive error, hard drive 1 (3F1) is the disk failure hard try loading in the Bios pass Diagnostics, perform the test, if it fails, you will need to replace the drive. In case your hard drive is not detected in the Bios, you must reinstall the part of the rear panel.

  • HP Recovery & upgrade of Windows 7

Hello to all as a new kid on the block! I have a Pavilion dv5 old subject notebook of a year that was purchase new with Windows Vista. Last month he has been upgraded to Win 7. I am to be invited to the backup and asked if I want to use the drive D partition. Gray that shook up the material and now I wonder how HP Recovery works stored in this partition. For example, if my computer goes down and I use the recovery, it will restore Windows 7 or Vista?  In other words, did the D partition get upgraded to Windows 7 too?

Thanks for any kind person who can provide assistance.

    Cheers, Toons

Recovery is going to get back to Vista. The recovery Partition is not updated to Windows 7 (recovery Partition never changes factory default image).

  • HP 450-011: delete the recovery partition after upgrade to win 10?

I have a new HP 450-011 and it came with Win 8.1 and the recovery with the letter D: drive partition.  I did the upgrade to windows 10.  I made a set of recovery DVD for win installation 8.1.  Is there a reason for me not to delete the D: drive and replace it with my information?  I seriously doubt I'll want to roll back to 8.1 Win.

    Greetings,

Have you tested the Win 8.1 HP Recovery disks before installing Win 10?

A question is: If you need technical assistance from HP tech for a possible hardware problem. HP normally requires that the factory installed operating system to take in charge. This policy of HP may have changed during the upgrade to win 10. I do not suspect.

You can export the recovery, Partition because it will not work now in any case.

But you need a way to go back to win 8.1 when you need HP warranty support.

Since you have already upgraded to Win 10, the only way to check the recovery of 8.1 Win disks is to use them and start all over again. Or the support of disks/USB recovery HP Win 8.1 on a new equivalent or larger HDD or SSD. A good installation means that you have now the factory install on this disk.

    It's a lot of work.

The problem of guaranteed support is your problem.

I have eliminated this problem by installing Win 10 on a new SSD. I have HP Win 8.1 on a separate SSD and win 10 on a different SSD. Possible guarantee problem solution means earn 8.1 running on HP SSD factory to check the problem of winning 10 SSD.

I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7 Vista but not like the 40 GB c: partition has only 3 GB free. Removed all unnecessary programs, etc. If you only really have Vista on C: drive but still showing 37GB used. Any ideas how I can release another 6 GB of free space.
    Tahnks a lot

I hate to say it, but it would be a great time for a bigger hard drive.  While 40 GB meets at least for installation you really need more for in-place-upgrading a system using 37 GB.  Setup needs space for temporary files, its own temporary relocation, etc.

    Hello Sarika

    Thanks for your help.

It's not that simple I thought he'd be when I used your method that whenever I tried to uncheck 'Use graphics processor' Lightroom 6 crashed.

At least you put me on the right track and I persevered and found the file relevant agprefs of Lightroom web help and followed the instructions to change manually.

I have changed two files with the same name but stored in different locations.

    Everything works fine now.

After the upgrade to WIndows 10 the other day, I copied some 30 GB of videos and photos from my phone to a USB connected HDD.

    using Windows Explorer:

    -J' created a new folder

-Use of function F2 key, I renamed the folder "New folder" to the 2015-16'

-all good then I copied (low-pressure) the files in this folder

Once done, I decided to rename the folder in different name

-J' pressed the function F2 key to rename it, but press ESC' to abandon it

-the file has been renamed to "new folder".

-J' then pressed F2 to rename it and the file disappeared!

-J' checked the trash, not there

There you go. How can I retrieve these prics

It is, but I cut/move the files in the DCIM folder on my USB key.

I found the culprit.  The 'function' key lock keyboard sound, he was in no hurry.  This Microsoft keyboard allowed this option to disabled and completely forgot it.

I've tried and tested again and this is the reason.

  • Portege M750 - how to upgrade to Windows 7 without preinsatlled Vista?

I have a laptop Portege M750 who had professional Vista on this subject.
I removed vista and installed the RC of windows 7

Now I have received the final windows 7 vista upgrade but can not install via Win7rc or independent to have vista first.
I don't have a cd of vista for the laptop as it came only with the CD of windows xp for some reason any.

The recovery partition has been deleted when installing win7 rc
I'm downloading a torrent of vista that should work, but is a few hours

I was wondering if there is another option for the upgrade of windows 7 to install

    Hello

You cannot switch to Win 7 without Vista operating system preinstalled.
In this case, you can do ONLY a clean installation of Windows 7.
But for this, need you a Win 7 DVD and not an upgrade disk.

I think that the laptop has been pre-installed with Vista and there is a possibility to create a Vista recovery disk.
(but in addition you get a Win XP disk in order to have two operating systems).
Looks like you do not have create this Toshiba Vista recovery disk using the Toshiba recovery disc creator (must be preinsatlled on the laptop), which means that you will not be able to reinstall Vista new

I think that there is nothing to do but to buy a Windows 7 disc and do a clean install.
