  I had the same problem at first.  If you click on the "messages" icon, it will take you to ALL your posts... you probably had a missed call.  You don't have to remove it, click and view the missed call.  The icon shows if something comes through, including SMS/MMS messages you may have missed.  I drove me crazy until I've played with him and figured it out.  Hope that helps.

  Reboot your BB by removing the battery for 30 sec and replace. If you don't have a message hidden somewhere that this should clear the icon that you have a new message.

  In the knowledge there is no way to change the icon associated with a specific e-mail account.  Some accounts fill their own specific icons.  for example yahoo, aim, aol, gmail.  The default icon is usually an envelope with a small globe next to him.

I recently left my phone unattended during my roommates play with and now my Messages icon always shows * no. Messages * in the same folder, if the folders for each of the msg/facebook messaging sms/accounts/bb say that I have no new messages. My roommates and I went through all the different settings and tried to set it up to where it was, but he cannot know. How do I reconfigure my settings so that messages appear in the Messages file/icon?

  With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  See if that helps. The main Messages icon, as you said, should get all messages unless disable you it in Facebook and separate your SMS in his file.

  I've lived all my boxes in and used short cut 'u' to search for unread messages.  There are not.  My new alert message icon on the main screen just left of time will not return to zero.  It will go no lower than 6.  However, when new messages arrive the counter increases by 6 to reflect new messages.  When I check all the new messages icon again message will go as low as 6 unread messages.   Any thoughts on how to correct?  Thank you!!

  Hey all... Sorry to sound like a total newbie, but I have another question which I hope I can get a helping hand with.

  After I created my Gmail account on my BB, I have now 3 icons for the messaging-SMS/MMS icon for Gmail and "Messages". For some reason any, whenever I get an email, it appears in the "Messages" icon, NOT on the gmail icon. Is there a setting I'm missing here?

  It's strange... I get an email where I'm supposed to, and the plugin works now... I did turn off my phone and turn it back on... and just left alone while I worked, too. Hard to say what he did, but safe to say that I am very pleased that his work.
