  Reboot your BB by removing the battery for 30 sec and replace. If you don't have a message hidden somewhere that this should clear the icon that you have a new message.

  I have 3 email accounts.  2 have the same icon and the 3rd one is different. is it possible to give each of them their own icon?

  In the knowledge there is no way to change the icon associated with a specific e-mail account.  Some accounts fill their own specific icons.  for example yahoo, aim, aol, gmail.  The default icon is usually an envelope with a small globe next to him.

  If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

  Try these options:
  * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
  Messages > saved Messages
  Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  I have used my turn for the fews last month now and have the habit of working mainly on my Messages icon to display all of my daily messages (3 e-mail accounts, sms/mms, facebook, etc.) so that I don't have to go through each individual icon throughout the day to get my messages. I recently left my phone unattended during my roommates play with and now my Messages icon always shows * no. Messages * in the same folder, if the folders for each of the msg/facebook messaging sms/accounts/bb say that I have no new messages. My roommates and I went through all the different settings and tried to set it up to where it was, but he cannot know. How do I reconfigure my settings so that messages appear in the Messages file/icon?

  With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  See if that helps. The main Messages icon, as you said, should get all messages unless disable you it in Facebook and separate your SMS in his file.

  Messages appear in the folder of the Application on your home screen.  Go to the folder, select the Messages icon, press the menu key, select move to folder and select homepage.

  Please help, not too clever technology so simplistic terms would help! Envelope message icon shows 1 at the top of my screen and message icons and email at the bottom of the screen when I put the cursor over them see (1), which denotes a message but when I open the boxes of mail message message and e, in that there is no message.   After I created my Gmail account on my BB, I have now 3 icons for the messaging-SMS/MMS icon for Gmail and "Messages". For some reason any, whenever I get an email, it appears in the "Messages" icon, NOT on the gmail icon. Is there a setting I'm missing here?

  It's strange... I get an email where I'm supposed to, and the plugin works now... I did turn off my phone and turn it back on... and just left alone while I worked, too. Hard to say what he did, but safe to say that I am very pleased that his work.

  Here's a post I made some time ago which explains how the messaging application. The basic answer is WAD - works as expected.

  While this position was aligned to BES users, the basic concept is intact. Messages is the main place for all messages (WAD) - separate icons for individual accounts are as a filter for the icon displays only messages related to that specific account. What I have done is to put the Messages icon to the bottom in a subfolder, and I just get something must come who is not associated with a specific icon on my home screen (e.g., PIN Messages, etc.).
