Icon/folder blackBerry Smartphones Messages shows * no. Messages *.

Hi all

I have used my turn for the fews last month now and have the habit of working mainly on my Messages icon to display all of my daily messages (3 e-mail accounts, sms/mms, facebook, etc.) so that I don't have to go through each individual icon throughout the day to get my messages. I recently left my phone unattended during my roommates play with and now my Messages icon always shows * no. Messages * in the same folder, if the folders for each of the msg/facebook messaging sms/accounts/bb say that I have no new messages. My roommates and I went through all the different settings and tried to set it up to where it was, but he cannot know. How do I reconfigure my settings so that messages appear in the Messages file/icon?

With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

See if that helps. The main Messages icon, as you said, should get all messages unless disable you it in Facebook and separate your SMS in his file.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Hide you? Try to activate "Show all" to see.

Did you move it? Try searching all the folders (for example, Applications, downloads, etc.) to see. Make sure you have "Show all" active there as well.

Have you installed a new theme? Those who can hide things away.

If all those who fail, then I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Messages saved as an icon?

I've had the blackberry "BOLD" with the old software and I managed to have recorded messages as an icon on my main screen, is there a way I can do on my new torch, I can't seem to find a way to do it?

    Thank you

Messages appear in the folder of the Application on your home screen.  Go to the folder, select the Messages icon, press the menu key, select move to folder and select homepage.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Message missing notification icons.

I've updated to a torch which has OS 6 on a curve running OS 4.5. The new OS seems to have changed the way new message are notified.

Previously, when an e-mail or an sms has been received a sound and/or LED would pass, depending on settings. In addition, letters or sms mailbox icon would have a small red indicator which remained until the email or sms has been read. This means that if you missed the actual notification that you could always tell instantly there is unread emails.

The torch that these red flags occur only when the message arrives so if you miss the notification, the only way to know if there is unread mail is to open the box. If this is due to the new operating system, it's a real setback by RIM.

However, I can't believe THAT RIM would be so stupid, so there must be a setting I need to change, even if I'm not. How can I get the icon to display unread messages?

I'll try that. Thanks for your advice.

  • BlackBerry smartphone messaging issue curve 9320

    Hi all!

the e-mail on my 9320 function does not work correctly. I have correctly configured my gmail on mydevice account and I get emails and receive notifications when they arrive, HOWEVER...

When I opened the email all I see is heading for the topic and who it is from, there is no message body. Looking back through my old emails, the only ones I have read completely are those that I received BlackBerry when I first set up my email confirming the installation. If I select answer or forward, it opens the E-mail project but then the email app is closed completely and I'm suddenly brought to my home screen.

    What I've tried so far:

-Turning device and turn it on again

-removal and setting up my email account once again

-wear the device to where I bought it. they offered to download blackberrydesktop on my PC Manager and backup then restore my phone. I did it without a change in behavior from my blackberry

Any help or advice is much appreciated

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you need to consider a full reload OS... to prepare, please visit link for Backup in my auto signature on this post.

I have the Torch 9850 and this morning I had an icon in the tray on the top of the screen saying I had 1 new update app but when I go to App world I have no upgrade.  I did a battery pull and the icon still appears.  I deleted the app world and reinstalled and it's always show 1 upgraded app.  I checked every app I had the upgrades and none has a.  Then, when I deleted the App World and reinstalled it, now I don't have any of the applications listed in App world as installed.  How can I fix it?

Have you looked through ALL your Messages folder for a message app upgrade?

Find, read or delete this message.

If maisl isn't here as stated above then you must erase your SMS database.

To clear the TEXT completely check following the steps:

    1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
    2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
    3. Double-click on the backup and restore, and then click Advanced.
    4. In the list of device databases, select the appropriate database.  For your problem, select SMS.
    5. Click clear.
    6. In the warning window, click OK.

Don't forget to have if you erase your SMS as mentioned above, then all Messages will be lost and cannot be extracted unless you have a backup.

  • New icon for blackBerry Smartphones? Circle with an arrow pointing diagonly, with a red dot

    Hi people.

A new icon has just appeared... no idea what/how it happened.

It is a circle with an arrow pointing to the South West (if it was a compass). It also has a red dot on the top right of the circle.

Has anyone experienced this and know what it is?

    Thanks in advance

The icon indicates that there is a message unread, referring probably to the fact that there is an update available for a certain application in the BlackBerry App World.

Since this is a generic message and not related to a specific account, the message must be visible by clicking on the Messages icon.

Open the messages application/folder and you should find the message it informing you that there is an update available in App World. The message should send you to the appropriate application that must be updated.

I don't think that you need to update the application to get rid of the icon; simply open the message should clear.

    See you soon!

  • New icon for blackBerry Smartphones

This morning I woke up to a new icon on my phone that I'm not familiar with. I thought it was appworld telling me there was an update available for one of my downloaded apps (there is for Pandora) but after downloading the upgrade, the icon is still there, after restart and all, any suggestions? It's a small arrow with a circle around it and the number 1

Go to your 'Messages' folder Find the message that you have this App World update (it's probally in bold) and mark it as open. The alert system will disappear.

  • Problem with icon disappears blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9780

    Hello

I hope one of you whistle may be able to help me.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, I use v.6.0.0.294 on o2 to the United Kingdom.

Last month, I noticed problems. I can't tell you what icons disappeared first, but certainly Blackberry App World was among the first to disappear, my phone lock has now gone although I can search it and its actually hidden, it will not display...

App world Blackberry does exist at all on my "BOLD" and even when I downloaded it again, it will not appear.

(not sure if there are other icons missing these are the only 2 that so far, I've noticed)

He said: I'm running the latest version of the software, so I don't understand what is happening.

I rebooted several times, no luck.

I've been in the Blackberry menu and looked for a way to display my lock icon and it won't.

    No matter what valued Advisor,

  • The device icon lost blackBerry smartphones

I did a tour overseas and noticed my phone stopped working at halfway through - I could not send or receive calls or texts.  I think that this happened to me once before when I was traveling overseas.  To fix it, I pulled the battery and put it back in - and everything (ie the phone) has worked well.  Then I noticed that had lost an icon - that is a picture of the device that allows you to position the ring on loud, quiet, vibrate, etc..  How to bring back the icon?

Also, does anyone know why the phone stops working abroad?

    Welcme cmmunity supprt frums

Press the button on your BlackBerry (Menu) and SHOW all.  See if it was hidden.

Second thing to do is research behind other icons to see if it is playing hide and seek with you. Sometimes, it happened.

  • Lost icon recover blackBerry Smartphones

Hello, I am new in the world of Blackberry. I seem to have lost (perhaps removed) the icon of the Application 'phone', this is the icon that looks like an old handset with two adjacent arrows of the it, one pointing to the inside and an outside. Is there a way to recover this icon? BlackBerry 8900 with AT & T v4.6.1.231

I have it! It was hidden in the applications folder. Thank you all!

  • Deleted text blackBerry smartphone messaging icon

my granddaughter of toddler deleted my text message icon.  I tried the suggestions that others have said worked for them (IE removing the battery to force a reboot when the phone is turned on and trying to display the icon).  Neither one worked for me.  Even ALT S won't let me watch my text messages.  Can someone help me?

He rode as a text message, but as soon as I answered that he would disappear.  I actually found the icon several days later in my media folder when I was looking for a photo to show someone.  my boss showed me how he go back because he uses a blackberry all the time for work.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Message folder and each individual e-mail messages with account? What's the point?

I am a new owner of blackberry 8330 and I try to navigate around him.  I have set up my email with my AT & T email yahoo.  I see the icons for each of these accounts on the screen with all icons, each showed as a separate email account.  So why, when I click on my icon 'message', make all the emails of these accounts?  Seems to be a bit redundant for me to have icons for each email and then the 'message' box where they all appear. (And I do not have separate SMS icon and I don't know it is for text messages.)  In any case, there must be a reason for all messages from this one place.  Any help, anyone?

Also, is there a way I can give these email accounts passwords so if someone had to pick up my phone, they couldn't read my emails?  I really don't want to have to lock my phone or have to sign my phone everytime I want to use it, a few passwords of these accounts.

    Thank you.

Some people like their messages to go to the same place. Personally, I find it boring so I created a folder on my home screen and I put in all the applications that I use right here, so I don't even have to watch them, but always know where they are snacks I have needed one of them. Password protecting your email, you can not, you can lock only of the whole device.
