DELETION OF SQL 2005

I need to remove SQL 2005 on my machine to install a new software product. I followed the recommendation of support for MS to do.

Now, I try to install the new software on my machine and I get this error >

Appeal procedure not valid error 5 or argument (C:\Users\David\Desktop\WV-ASM200P_V1.22_English\1 SQL Server2005\English\Component\SQLEXPR. EXE/qb-ADDLOCAL = ALL

SecuirtyMODE = SQL GTAUTOSTART = 1

ASCOLLATION = Latin1_General_CS_AS_KS_WS DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS = 2

xp_cmdshell = 1 INSTANCENAME = SQLACCOUNT ASM200 = "NT".

NT\SYSTEM' SAPWD = tcs5y0na)

It is a security of the user or a registry problem or what should I do to solve it?

I suggest that you publish in Microsoft SQL forums on TechNet here:

Thank you.  :)

  • SQL 2005 update failed. error code 663.

I didn't know an answer to my previous question, which was:-my computer to stop asking me to update.  I try and it tells me that try to update sql 2005 failed.  error code 663.  This has happened for a long time.  I am a user of the computer only so don't understand not why I need SQL 2005.  Can someone give me a simple answer please.  I run windows XP media center edition version 2002 service pack 3

You don't need SQL 2005 if you know. You can simply uninstall it from Add and remove programs and uninstalling SQL windows update will not offer you the update and you will not receive an error message, but if you want SQL you have to do is to repair the installation of SQL and the error message will disappear!

  • 5.2 CSA and Local SQL 2005

After reviewing the http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/csa/csa52/install_guide/CSA52IG.pdf for the system requirements, I stumbled on the following.

    Hardware configurations:

1 single Pentium 4 processor (3 Ghz +) with 2 GB of RAM

2 dual processor Xeon (2.5 Ghz +) with 4 GB of RAM

Only 1 hardware configuration supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition or Standard Edition with their limit of 4 GB RAM.

According to the above documentation, can it really be true that Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Workgroup or Standard ed. does not work with the hardware configuration 2?

Can someone shed some light on why this wouldn't work or check if it works? I had planned on using the hardware configuration 2 with SQL Server 2005, but now I'm unsure if it will work.

    Each configuration will work.

    (1) SQL 2005 Standard does not have the limitation of the RAM, he's going as high as the RAM of the OS.

    (2) limitation of the memory for the Express and the Working Group is that it will not use that much, not that it will not work if you have more (or less for that matter).

  • TMS SQL 2005 DB to SQL 2008

    Hello

I have here a nice problem. We had a former TMS (v.13.1) Server installed to MS 2003 R2 with SQL 2005.

The export of the DB has been problem free.

Now, we need to upgrade the operating system to MS 2008 R2 64 bit. We had installed the TMS Version 13.1.2 with SQL 2008.

How can I import the old DB for new MSDS?

Who has an idea or if it is?

    Greetings

  • SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 R2 update

    Hey everybody,

I have a MSD (13.0) running on a dedicated Windows 2003 server and has the database hosted on one of our corporate servers running SQL 2005. All the companies getting SQL servers migrate to 2008 R2 at the end of the summer. Has anyone done this type of migration with the MSDS database and what questions or unexpected came?

    Thank you

    Hello Steven

I'm assuming that you'll upgrade TMS to the latest version as well (13.2%).

Longer if you follow the procedure documentation and check all the prerequisites and requirement conditions everything should go smooth.

Please check this link, in particular page 16:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/TMS/Install_Guide/Cisco_TMS_install_guide_13-2.PDF

Also, I highly recommend to install TMSPE that uses the database SQL instead of the OpenDS.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/tmspe/Install_Guide/Cisco_TMSPE_Deployment_Guide_1-0.PDF

Please note that you must upgrade your VCS so at least 7.1.

    I hope this helps.

  • vCenter 4.1 on SQL 2005 express upgrade to vc5

    Hello

Am looking for first upgrade our environment for vsphere 5... first step is to vcenter.  I've read a lot of threads on this topic... but each looks different... Some say to database backup and uninstall it all... others suggest upgrading the database to 2008 r2 first, etc.

VSphere 5 has been out for several months, this is a generally accepted approach for upgrading to vcenter 4.1 to 5 located on 2005 express?

    My configuration:
    -vcenter installed on 64-bit Windows 2008 R2

-The 32 bit SQL 2005 express database

-You are looking at using SQL 2008 R2 express as database

-Looking at on place upgraded on the same server 64-bit currently in

    All advice appreciated.

  • VCenter DB from SQL 2005 to Oracle Migration

    Hi all

I am a student if the vCenter DB to SQL 2005 Standard to Oracle migration is possible.

I already read a lot of documentation and found no clue on that goal.

Anyone done any? Is it possible and functional?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

There is a thread on the homepage with the same question.

    http://communities.VMware.com/thread/308260?TSTART=0

So yes it is possible.  But I recommend cool vCenter from a facility.  Either by moving your hosts on manually recreate your pools of files/resources etc, either using a script PowerCLI.  This way you will not end up with a bribery scheme.

  • Migrate from VCenter 4 SQL Express to SQL 2005

    Hello

I installed VC on SQL Express and you want to migrate the database to a separate server running SQL2005.  Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do that?  I tried the folllowing, but it failed:

    1. install VC on serperate server and create the database on SQL 2005 - I did it for all the stored procedures would be copied

    2 Backup SQL Express

    3. 2nd stop install VC

    4. restore the backup from SQL Express to VCDB on SQL2005

5 ensure the VCDB SQL2005 and MSDB peuvent vmuser as dbo

    6 vc origin stop server

    6. change the DSN to the original VC server to point to SQL2005 VCDB

I used sql authentication and logs of the DSN on the VCDB SQL2005 very well, but when I run the VC Service, it fails to start with event ID 1000, which is a very generic message saying that windows does not have the information needed to display the details of the message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • The upgrade to vSphere + SQL Express to SQL 2005 + new vCenter Server

    Hello world

It's the scénarion that I have today:

A node just two HA/DRS cluster with vCenter 2.5 update 4 and two esx 3.5 update 4.

The environment has increased enough to move from SQL Express to SQL 2005 standard. In the process, I want to upgrade the environment to vSphere and the vCenter move another box.

I'm quite familiar with the process of vSphere upgrade but I donít know how to move the vCenter to another machine AND I do not know how to go from Express to the standard version of SQL in the process. (I have a SQL machine ready for use)

I do not know how to handle all the changes here, I thought it would be nice to all move to the new machine and DB so that I could continue with the upgrade to vSphere, if this has meaning or not, I'm waiting for your ideas.

I hope someone will give me some guidance on moving from SQL Express to SQL and how to move vCenter to another server (of course with a different server name and IP address)

Thanks in advance for your support.

I just did something very similar a few Sundays ago and it was really easy.  Refer to the section of the Upgrade Guide that talks about upgrading to vCenter on another Machine... (starts at p. 49).  We went from SQL 2003 32 bits on 32-bit Windows 2003 to SQL 2005 64-bit on Windows 2008 R2 64-bit.  Both are running as VMs - vCenter 2.5 is still there only as a license server - until I get all my hosts upgraded.
