Hello

You will need to run gpedit.msc in mode administrator or account with administrator rights.

  • Shortcut icons and desktop Windows 7 file to change default

The shortcut icons for the Office 2010 applications on my desktop and icons for office and acrobat files have re-established a kind of default icon.

  • The deleted Remote Desktop connection icon and want to know how to add it back

    Hello

I have Windows XP Home Edition and a VPS service for Forex trading.  I 'accidentally' deleted my DESKTOP CONNECTION link remotely located in START / all PROGRAMS / ACCESSORIES / COMMUNICATIONS and I can't understand how he put on my desk, so I can connect to my VPS.  I'll have to type MSTSC. EXE in the box to RUN whenever I want to check my VPS and Forex, results instead of having an icon on my desktop to use.

I tried to download SP3 again, hoping he would add the DESKTOP CONNECTION remote to its previous location in the menu START / all PROGRAMS / ACCESSORIES / COMMUNICATIONS.  Then I was hoping she was send to office option or create a shortcut?  But my computer won't let me download it SP3 again on the existing SP3 file, so I'm stuck.

Someone has a very simple solution, how can I put back the link or shortcut DESKTOP CONNECTION remote on my desktop but it works correctly and also back to START / all PROGRAMS / ACCESSORIES / COMMUNICATIONS to connect on my VPS service Office?  I'm totally Luddite as you can tell, so I don't know if there is a major or minor problem, but I appreciate all the support!

    Thank you, Jim Pinkerton

Open search and search for mstsc.exe, where it is found right click and choose open folder, item selected right click and choose send to desktop, create a shortcut, it will be back on your desktop.

  • How to change the permission to touch the key settings for all users?

Original title: Howsto permission change to change the touchpad settings

    Members of the Forum,

My windows7 OS is implemented for several different users.  The touchpad is very sensitive, it is difficult to work with EXCEL or WORD.  Whenever possible, I use a USB keyboard and mouse, but it's not always convenient.  I would like to change the permissions on the mouse settings to allow all users to disable or customize the touch pad settings.  How did you do that.  Any assistance is much appreciated.

    Lemorse

    Mahesh,

Thank you for your response.  First of all to answer your questions.  I do not work in a domain environment, my computer is custom built, and I am the administrator.  I changed the touchpad settings in the past, but it I need to make on behalf of users administrator when I want to change. As it's boring, I wanted a more convenient way to change the settings. (It was much easier with XP and previous editions of Windows because they would ask permission to make the change and if you have the administrator password, you can change the settings).  I usually work as a user limited to guard against unauthorized or accidental system changes.  After posting my question, I kept sleeping with her and found that if I changed the permissions of pilot pad touch and shared with me as a limited user, I was able to customize I like it as a limited user.  By placing the shortcut to the driver on the desktop that I am able to disable the touchpad at will whenever I work on WORD or EXCEL.  Therefore, I solved the problem.  Once again thank you for taking your valuable time to answer my post.

  • How to remove the default for a limited only account gateway (with static ip address)

I have 1 pc with 4 accounts 1 account administrator and user the rest is limited accounts. I use a static ip address and the question is how to remove the default gateway on these limited account so that they cannot access the internet

The entry door is fixed to the adapter and selectively cannot set properties of the different adapter for different users, all users use the same adapter.

With Internet Explorer (does not work with other browsers), you can configure a proxy server with a fake address, you can do this through Group Policy, or you can do it manually for each individual user through the Internet Options settings.  You can set the proxy server address map of loopback (127.0.0.1) or you can set it to a bogus address of your private address range (usually the range 192.168.xxx.xxx)

If you are using other browsers, you can use NTFS permissions to deny access to the Explorer or the program directory or you can use software restriction policies to deny access to specific programs.

Alternatively, you can use a logon script to activate the network connection service when you open a session and the other to turn it off when you log, but if you do this you will disable the entire network for limited users if it cannot be a solution for them.  The script can be a simple two-line script:

    Logon script:

SC config Netman start = demand
    net start netman

    Logoff script:

    net stop netman
SC config Netman start = disabled

    These can be useful:

  • reset the notification of update of java to run when the admin, not connect standard users

I am not a Java Forum, but it's half of Java and Microsoft, so I thought I'd post here.

There is a Java Update, and I get a notification to the user limited on Vista Home. I thought it was just my account because he was demoted from an admin account to the time when I first created it and I turned it back once or two temporarily. However, my mother is there for the day and invited the java update. Limited users cannot install the update, even when you give the UAC admin password.

However, the notification doesn't seem to be that appears when I log into the admin account, so I can not get this 'thing' being updated. I could do it manually like I did the last two times, but how do I do to make the admin get the notification, not regular users rather than the reverse?
I know an easy way to customize the controls in Vista HOME Premium beyond what is in the startup folder in the Start Menu-> all programs-> startup startup.

Subsequently systeminternals program "autoruns" only helps me to understand that the user takes that.

OK, about 15 seconds after clicking on "transfer" I got the notification pop up on the admin account. It just took longer than on the standard account for some strange reason.

I still want to know how to exclude users not privileged to see the check because they cannot do anything about this, or at least limit to MY non privileged account that I can always disconnect or use 'switch user' to install these updates.

  • AUDIT only creates a record if the privilege is granted

Hello world. I try to configure auditing for security requirements and did some tests on a test database. (10.2.0.5 on RHEL 6) with the statement of VERIFICATION BY CREATING the ACCESS USERS.

Just did some quick tests, I found that VERIFICATION will only create a folder if I have the privilege to CREATE a USER. For example, here's my test case and the result:

    1. without privilege

    -CHECK CREATE USER BY ACCESS

-Scott doesn't have the privilege to create users

-Try to create the user, without success.

-No record is generated in the audit log.

    2. with privilege

    -CHECK CREATE USER BY ACCESS

-Scott got the privilege to create users

    -Try to create users, success

-Record is generated in the audit log

-Try to remove the user, without success

-No record is generated in the audit log.

I guess it comes to the design provided by Oracle, but this is not a little limited with respect to the audit of the attempts of creating a user? For example, if a user can access the database and kept the attempt to add users or perform other commands to test the limits of its privileges, which doesn't record? Just my 2 cents.

I have My Documents on my Windows 7 desktop.  When I click the icon, an icon My Documents Shortcut.link then appears next to the My Documents icon.  When I right click on the shortcut icon, my screen started flickering and I mus do a Ctl/Alt/Delete to return to display system and monitor to normal.

I tried to remove the My Documents icon, but who only 'pretending' in the file recycle.  Of course, I don't want to totally delete the My Documents!

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Although it is strange that the location of your documents is

    C:\Users\Steve\Doc

    Instead of

    C:\Users\Steve\Documents

This result shows that the "My Documents" icon on your desktop is a shortcut and not the actual file with your documents.  The icon on your desktop has a blue arrow, like this:

If you delete this icon, you should get a message like this:

As long as the 'shortcut' word is in the message "Are you sure", everything you delete is a shortcut and not your actual files... so go ahead and delete it.  You can then create a new shortcut or just use the 'Documents' shortcut located on the start menu:
