Dell Canada is not a disk of Windows 8 OEM

I recently bought three SSD. VisionTek two 240gig for a table of raid0 OS and a 120 gig msata to accelerate my extended, data volume consisting of three hard disks.  I tried to install USB in Windows 8, but the recovery continues looking for a terabyte of disk and refuses to install on the raid array. No other disc attached of course. I asked twice a disc OEM of Windows 8, but the States of the delayed system is not available. I've been waiting since August 20 for the first request, the second was a few days ago. I am afraid that there is no Windows 8 coming OEM disc and my integrated key does not work with an OEM Windows 8.1 or retail disk. They keys are not compatible. I don't know what to do. VisionTek doesn't include cloning software, nor does the copy of the free version of Easus on the mbr. Limited oem reinstall software won't fix the mbr as some people have suggested. I am extremely frustrated and feel like I've wasted my money on these discs. I don't know what other recourse beyond I have bought a copy at retail. My systems warranty is in 48 days I will probably renew but I can't get my OEM drive if necessary. Is there a work around for having the software installed for the smallest combo drive?  I can't understand why dell hard would set the size like that its all just ridiculous. There are six bloody partitions unnecessary. All you need is an operating system and a recovery with a flexible Installer.

Windows 8 keys are not compatible with Windows 8.1 oem or retail Windows 8.1 / and vice versa. This is one of the biggest questions/complaints with Windows 8/8.1.

If you can get the Windows 8.1 .iso image file, you can install Windows 8.1 using the generic product key. You can then use the RW-everything utility to get your BIOS SLP key. You can then use the change button and it will activate. See here for more details:

Or... you can ignore completely the Windows 8 and install Windows 10 Technical Preview:

  • Dell Inspiron will not start up to Windows 7

I can't start my Inspiron desk top to Windows 7.  He makes by Dell and Windows logos, then hangs on the black screen with the arrow cursor.  I tried everything suggested in the troubleshooting articles that I found on this site and elsewhere on the net... except to reinstall Windows 7.  I don't have the drive to make but has a set of recovery disks when I bought the computer.  The computer is unresponsive, either for them or for my Windows 7 repair disk.  This started when I was working on a problem of queue and has resorted to the restoration of the system when nothing else has worked.  When restoration was finished, it was impossible to restart.  The only clues suggested that the problem may be due to 'a recent hardware or software change' and 'required device is inaccessible.  It would seem that the system restore deleted something he should not have, but how I discovered what happens if I can't in my files? The disc of Windows 7 will do everything that my recovery disks could not do?

    Hello Riverbug

    Please write to us.

Please do a power cycle by disconnecting all the connectors, including the power cable. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds and then put in place all the connectors and turn on the machine.

If still the same, stop the system again. Restart and keep listen NFB 12, select diagnostics and let it finish. If the test succeeds, try another HD on the system if available, otherwise try to reinstall the windows from the restore disc, you did.

    Await your response.

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

You can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Need new hard drive, but have not the disks in Windows 7 OS

Recently, I had some problems with my PC and was able to restore the factory settings.  Now it seems that my hard drive is bad and needs to be replaced.  I have a HP G71-449WM model, produces WA606UA.

Will it also find Windows 7 OS disks somewhere?  I didn't need one when I did the restore to factory.

It's the hard drive, which I intend to purchase:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Toshiba-5400rpm-replacement-G71-449WM-WA606UA/DP/B00JRLAYMW/ref=sr_1_2?s=elect...

    Hello

First of all, the HARD drive in your link is fine, even if you can consider a slightly faster (7200 RPM) - for example, either of the drives on the following links would be very well for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 64 of your & Maintenance Guide.

    ***************************************************

Regarding the reinstallation of the operating system on the new drive, there are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

  • The file specified is not a disk virtual windows XP VmFusion 4.1.4

I know that this question has been answered several times.  I am however, 'almost' by computer illiterate and the answer seems to be specific to the user/problem what ever.  I'm a fan of MAJOR Mac, but need windows to do my job.  I was not able to access side windows on my Mac through VM Ware Fusion (just updated to 4.1.4 - hoping that would solve the problem - it didn't)

I had a problem before and don't have improved during the summer - I have 3?  Any help would be appreciated - is seriously considering a windows computer, because this is my second time lose access to windows in the last 6 months!

Just for this, update for others reading this thread, to be more complete... Works on this thanks to TeamViewer I created a new VM from the basic disk, since all the user data is/has been registered on the Mac and all the necessary Windows applications have been installed on the basic disk before that took all the photos.  Windows updates are now done and will then make a backup appropriate for recovery after the updates.  Fortunately because of what this Virtual Machine is and since all the data user is/has been recorded in the Mac that he made way for a recovery fast and easy then dealing with 14 Snapshots!

Title pretty much sums up it...

I installed 7 and it works great!  But if I didn't put in the drive to load on the system is not turn it up.  I can see the drive in my computer, but he still thinks that the CD1 of World of Warcraft's inside, but it doesn't have either turn this disc.

I got a bunch of things off when installing (HyperTransport, IDE, floppy drive), should I turn all distributed and try to load it up, just to reactivate all later?  Or is there a known solution?  Exact model is the GH22NS30. Hi Rustedbucket,

Thanks for posting on the community forum is ready for Windows 7.

Try to remove the filters from the registry, see if that helps with this problem.

Be sure to back up the registry on external media before editing the registry.

    1. Click Start

      Collapse this includes this image

type regedit in the Search box, and then click regedit in the programs list.

      Collapse this includes this image

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Warning There may be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must ensure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the default data value is the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM and the class data value is CDROM.

    3. In the pane, click UpperFilters, and then click Remove.
    4. Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry.
    5. In the pane, click LowerFilters, and then click Remove.
    6. Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry.
    7. Exit the registry editor and restart the computer.

Please let us know if that helps you or additional assistance is needed on this issue.

  • HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK G6 - HOW TO FORMAT DISKS IN WINDOWS 8 OEM ONLY ONE LANGUAGE

I have HP Pavilion laptop g6 with windows 8 is installed. Recently, I lost my data.

Now, I want to create more than two disks to protect my data, so that if something happens, I have to format the C drive only and my other readers data remains secure.

    Help, please.

    Rajeev

    Hi rajeev11,

If only Windows is corrupt, then yes the created reader will be safe. However if the hard disk itself is corrupted then the created reader would not be safe.

Windows 8 is a way to backup all your data, your programs, your files and your current configurations. It's called a System Image and if you back up to a CD you can keep a safe place in case of crash. A System Image is essentially a copy of your current configuration. This link will show you how to create one. The first part is a little history and context, but it gets to the part of the Image of the system shortly after.

    Thank you

  • Dell XPS 15 L502X restore Windows 10 to 8 - is not the disks

A few months, I installed Windows 10 back on my XPS 15 L502X. It seemed OK, but a bit clunky. Now I'm sick of it. It is so much slower, freeze things upwards, the Start button does not work, it takes forever to connect, webcam does not always work etc, etc.

So, I want to return Windows 8.1. In fact, I grew to love this OS. Problem is that I don't have the installation diskettes. I tried to get some via Dell website but it came to a bit of a dead end and I'm not sure if they will be provided after the expiration of the warranty.

Also, I don't seem to have an activation code on the case - is a problem.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you

    Chris

You can get Windows 8.1 by following the instructions here:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Is6I9B9kjFM&list=PL1RkaknDn7v9wEeh0YXFqOFsrmws-9fYn&index=1

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Windows-8-1-retail-and-OEM-ISO/

But the performance woes are likely due to the fact that you have made an initial upgrade installation. They always perform significantly worse. A clean install of Windows 10 TH2 will work much better:

I bought a 2950 on Ebay the month last but never had the intention on the installation of a Windows operating system, but I downloaded the ISO of DVD here file and installed without any problem they send you a key to save the operating system. I updated the bios after this and no problem. You never said how many hard drives you have, but make sure that you have two or more. So far, I've installed VMWare ESXi which was supported on 2950 but I settled with XenServer 6.5.0 and I 2003 server running as a virtual machine which works very well.

I have a Dell XPS workstation I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 on it but I had only one drive is connected and the operating system could not see all of the hard drives. After that a second device and do not use raid on this machine, I was able to install Windows. I tried the ISO Live Dell 2850 version but it is not a. Which includes diagnostic tools. When you by a Dell there pre installed in a hidden partition on the disk utility, you can run, but it really isn't anything I know install that. Usually the F12 key will give you a list of items to boot from and if she isn't here the disk, it cannot run. The diagnostic utility that is.
