Dell flat screen monitor appears to be generic monitor

I've seen several posts with no solutions.  I just Touchsmart 15 t with a 3.0 Targus docking station.  Monitor flat screen Dell as second screen quality is very bad.  Device Manager shows that the monitor has a generic driver.  I downloaded the driver on the Dell website, but Device Manager will not be updated with the new driver.  There are generic.  Is it possible to have my second screen (Dell) properly with the correct driver?  Thanks for your help!

Hello

You have 3 providers for a single connection here. I still believe that the man in the middle is the problem. Please install driver Firmware and video for it on your computer and try again:

I have a Dell Inspiron 580 (March 2010) under Win7 Home Premium SP1 installed. I'm running 2 monitors with NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT graphics card.

I want to set a new flat screen TV through the HDMI ports on the TV and the computer. I can't see the TV from the computer. Cable and the TV that all HDMI ports work so either to the computer's HDMI port is faulty or the version of Windows 7 is unable to stand the TV... or maybe the NVIDIA card is involved.

I think it could be put in place so that I can direct the output from the computer to the TV or the 2 monitors. Maybe it's time for a new computer?

Yes, you need a new video card that has a HDMI port.

    Hello

Sounds like a screen resolution problem...

    • Click with the right button on a part empty your desktop, and then click Properties
    • Click on the settings tab
    • Move the resolution slider all the way to the right
    • It should choose the native resolution of your monitor
    • Click OK

The native resolution of your screen are not selectable based on the ability of your graphics drivers. Updated drivers may solve this problem, but perhaps also that it will not.

most of the time, the monitors are plug-n-play.

a generic vga driver should be enough to run it

Can someone please help me identify the problem and bring me a solution to this problem? Thank you in advance.

This isn't a problem-solving. This is the case when Windows does not recognize the monitor he used the default settings for the device not recognized. After I have run a sfc command and run the automatic update of Windows, the problem has been resolved.

    Hello

The message seems to be due to the fact that manufacturing had not their WHQL certified driver. The device driver can still install and the device might work. The message is a warning that the driver has not been tested.

  • Resolution for screen wide flat screen is too small (already tried native resolution and dpi)

Short version of my problem is the following. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 w/Vista. I recently had to reinstall Vista to a deformation of the BONE. Now that everything is reinstalled and updated, everything is too small. Text is about a size 4, web pages appear with all focus on areas on each side w/empty space.

I already tried to change the resolution but other dimensions make the screen either too wide or too high, I tried to change the dpi to 120, which still has not resolved the smallness. I'm at my wits end, trying to figure out what the issue could be and would love other suggestions to try.

You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you shoulddo at least for video cards and monitors and all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

In Internet Explorer, click Page in the toolbar of the order (if it is not there, do a right-click on the toolbar with the tabs, and then check the toolbar command to add) and access the Zoom and text size and see if the setting solves those problems with this program (I often accidentally hit the shortcut key causing that to happen and it always fixes it).

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

If none of this works, try to uninstall the flat screen widescreen (everything including configuration in display properties, pilots in devices, connections and any other partner Manager and reboot and see if your screen returns to normal.)  If so, something on the flat screen is the origin of the problem and you may need to consult the manual, installation instructions or whether, you can find about it (you already have the most recent files in the first paragraph above) and try to install again to see if the problem comes back.   If all goes well, the same resetting will solve the problem unless there is a problem of basic compatibilility.  What is the manufacturer, brand and model of the flat screen and how exactly is it connected (the precise connection device and methodology)? • Dell MDS14 Dual Monitor Stand, Portrait orientation?

Hi all there a Dell MDS14 Dual Monitor Stand. I just want to confirm if one of the monitors can be in portrait orientation?

I want to mount one 24 inches horizontally and the other 24 inches in portrait mode.

    Thanks in advance.

If anyone is interested, Yes, you can mount the monitor in portrait mode using the included vesa plate.

All you need to do is fix the vesa plate in the necessary direction and fix.

The only issue is that it adds about 5mm is not Ras if you align perfectly flat monitors horizontally.

But if use you it like me and have a slight angle inward at the portrait screen it's a problem no.

PS, if you need to rinse, you can always mount two monitors with vesa :) plate

  • Dell UltraSharp U2515H Monitor

I'm curious if my 27 inch iMac 2011 mid will be able to run both 2 Dell Ultrasharp U2515H monitors http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2515H-25-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00SPWPF1O?ie=UT F8 & PSC = 1 & redirect = true & ref_ = ox_sc_act_ti...).  In general, I need to watch sports events simultaneously on two different monitors, and I wonder if my iMac both these 25 inch monitors can handle at the same time.  Any help would be appreciated.

Your iMac can support 2 screens Thunderbolt of Garland. This Dell monitor supports the DP 1.2 STD for daisy chaining two monitors.

After reading using screens 4 K and Ultra HD TVs with your Mac - Apple supported it does not resemble your iMac would support 2 of these monitors. But I could be misinterpreted.

  • Last call for PM 7600: flat screen?

Moving again and I absolutely refuse to give up the print of a 17 "CRT NEC monitor, but still hate to throw the Power Mac 7600/120. Would love to return to this world at least a few times more. Is it possible to get the 7600 to work with a flat screen?

That's a blast from my past. The graphics card in it has a DB-15. You used to be able to get a DB-15 to VGA. It came with 2 MB of VRAM and can be upgraded to 4 MB. Not sure about the size of a VGA screen, you can use with it. The other option would be to find a PCI graphics card that would go into your operating system and have more VRAM in there to run a bigger screen.

  • (Dell LCD) screen goes blank when I connect. Requires the switching on of the screen on and outside

(Dell LCD) screen goes blank when I connect.  Requires power to the power on and off screen, at least 15 to 20 times before picture stays on.  Any suggestions? No to the problem site so don't have the model numbers.  Dell computer and about 8 years.

Looks like your monitor is having problems sync-ing for the resolution settings that you have defined for your monitor.  When you get your screen is displayed, right-click on an empty area of your desktop-> properties-> (tab) settings.

Then, in the 'Screen Resolution' area, try to move the cursor to the end of 'Less' and click 'apply '.  It will then try to change to this new resolution.  If your screen is empty for now, just wait about 30 seconds and it will return to the previous resolution (which can mean that you need to power cycle your monitor you have done to get it back)-otherwise accept the settings if your display looks OK.  Try to find a solution that works with your monitor.  It is also possible that your monitor is going bad.

  • How can I stop the "Splash Screen" to appear please.

    Hello
I have two monitors, model S230HLbd. How can I stop the "Splash Screen" to appear please.

By Splash Screen, I mean the 'Acer' and 'Energy Star' logos that appear when you turn on the screens. I think they slow down the display of what you want to see.

There is no way to stop the boot process.

  • Can not stop the Windows Help and Support screen to appear several times

I tried to us Windows Defender and features WindowTurn on or off programs in vain to stop the Windows Help and Support screen to appear several times offering assistance on everything that I've just selected if it is a selection of function or the word internet. The copy of Vista came with my new Dell laptop. I have another laptop HP with Vista but do not have to go through this on this subject.

Advice to address this very frustrating situation would be appreciated.

    Hi Maree33,

Let's run Windows Update and make sure that you have all the latest patches and service packs loaded.  In Internet Explorer click Tools then Windows Update and follow the instructions.

You can also give a quick call Dell and see if this is a common problem with their OEM version.

Please let us know the results.
