Dell's digital delivery, Adobe XI Std and serial number

We ordered a lot of new Optiplex 3010 for business.  We also clarified Adobe Acrobat XI which only comes through via digital distribution Dell now.  If we do not get a disk or card serial number more.

We have implemented a computer model exactly how we like it.  You know, through all the guests of nag, import a script to customize the application pinned to the taskbar, accept the license agreements for first time, make sure that all of the software that we need are installed and configured.  Then after that, remove us it from the field again, and so that a local administrator through us everything one last time to make sure things are custom the way we want to.  We then take an image using Acronis (initialization of network).  Then we go back and run the sysprep utility Windows 7 that points to an XML with things like profile copy = true and other.

After that it stops us the image once again we have an image after.  Now we only use Acronis and put this image on all of our Dell Optiplex 3010.  When his kick the only thing he asks is the name of the computer, and then once his punt join our field.  Pre-deployment appwiz.cpl, run us down to Microsoft Office 2010 and press 'Edit' and choose to enter a product key, and then we enter the product key from the computer it replaces.

Now, today I received an e-mail from a person with one of these new computers with a screen from Adobe Acrobat XI (which remember is via distribution digital Dell and we don't have more maps in the series or installation media).

It indicates the serial number 1016xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is already in use by the maximum number of computers.  You must disable another computer within 25 days of using this product. Then there are two options:

  • Retry the activation. I already turned off one of my other computers.
  • Provide a different serial number.

Well, since Dell has not distributed the Adobe key cards, where I'd get a different serial number from?  I imagine that the figure was used in the original image.  However the Dell digital delivery check the service tag that the PC is allowed for Adobe and it should have taken care of this.  So what do I do here?  In the future if we do not choose this method and instead go through another retailer for Adobe Acrobat Standard XI, then we have a CD and key card for each computer that we deploy, although its much more expensive... spoke vs $150 $50 add it for her when customizing your Dell computer.

So thank you for any input.  I know that this could be a problem of Dell (while I posted there also), however it was installed via digital distribution of Dell and Dell did not send the keys.

We legitimately paid for it.  In the round previous to the Optiplex 3010 when we could order Acrobat X standard, we had a key card.  After sysprep I would run a script (AAMEE was installed in the default image) to change the serial number via the command line.  But now Acrobat XI is different and I don't know what to do.  Dell is not still give us an option for Adobe X more, otherwise I would have just used this version which worked well.

Sorry, I can't help. But it seems that you should go with a dealer that would offer you a volume license which would have been much less a hassel. You may contact Dell and return Acrobat you bought and go with a volume license.
