Dell Vostro 3700

I am running Dell Vostro Windows 8.0 Pro 34 bits on the machine, have upgraded memory up to 8 GB, however said that I need to run Windows 64 bit otherwise OS system 8.0 will use not the 8 GB.

Tried installing the 64-bit version, but I get message "this custom app running on your PC", what can I do?

Additional memory installation is due to the machine slows down, and SupportAssist indicates that the maximum memory of 8 GB is supported. Either way, I had the computer for more than 4 years and have been very happy with the performance.

You cannot change to 64-bit without a complete new installation of 64-bit windows 8.1. More memory is not speed or solve problems. Look elsewhere to solve this problem. If you have a processor able to run 64-bit - not all Vostro can run that - and you have a record of 64-bit windows 8 dell, start it and install a custom. If boot you the disk installation and got this error, you cannot run 64-bit. See if you can return the extra memory or sell it.

To check if you can run 64-bit, open the system page in Control Panel and see what he says. You are far behind the times by installing only not 8.1 free update. You could get a free upgrade to 32-bit windows after the 29 July 10 If you install the 8.1 update and that your computer is compatible.

  • Upgrade of RAM up to 8 GB - DELL Vostro 3700

    Hello world!

I decided to upgrade my DELL Vostro 3700 with 4 GB of RAM up to 8. Is it feasible and technically possible to have 2 memory glue 4 GB each?

I read the manual, it is that I can use up to 4 GB in each slot. A year ago, I heard that DELL support does not recommend to have more than 2 GB in each slot. WHO KNOWS?

    Hi Pholiant,

Dell Vostro 3700 has 2 SODIMM slots. The system accepts a memory of 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB capacity. The type of memory accepted either DDR3 1066 MHz DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMM only. The computer supports a maximum of 8 GB of memory when it is installed with two DIMMS to 4 GB.

  • freezing of Dell vostro 3700

I have a dell vostro that I bought with a bad hard drive. After replacing the hard drive and install windows 7 on it, it started to freeze on me after that I installed the graphics drivers from Nvidia.

I looked online and I thought it was an overheating issue. then I downloaded speedfan and the temperature was about 76-84

so I bought the new thermal paste and clean everything inside the laptop.

After completing the cleaning and put new thermal paste

the should fell to 50-70, it worked fine for about 1 hour, after he began to freeze up again.

then I uninstalled the Nvidia driver and the gel stopped.

I did a bios update and installed all the drivers up to date

I always have the same question.

the temperature is about 46, and it freezes.

When it freezes, I can't do anything. I can hear the fan speed,

There are no beeps or lights.

Thanks for the help guys I have set myself.

It turns out that one of the rams is bad.

After removing the bad memory stick live. The laptop had the same problem of freezing.

After that some research it turns out that computer supports DDR3 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz SODIMM DDR3

    Type of ram.

The bad stick was the original that I bought with which is DDR3 1333 MHz

And the problem was that the second stick DDR3 12800 MHz.

So after replace the two matched sticks of DDR3 1333 MHz he has worked for more than 5 hours without any problem. !

  • Dell Vostro Mic disappeared

Hi there, given that my computer is back to have a new hard drive and the general cleaning I don t seem to have a microphone. The computer is a Dell vostro 1700. This really happened about two years previously while my pc is under warranty and Dell support took control remote and fixed it. Now its happened again made, someone knows how to turn it back. I've been devices etc. and the mic option is it says Mic no line in and if I right click and uncheck the box or the other of the boxes he always says no detected Mic. So differently than before on the same computer I can't Skype my dad who lives abroad or something that needs a microphone. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello
My name is Larry and I work for social media and

    Community team at Dell.

If the microphone was working fine before the HARD drive has been replaced and the operating system has been installed. Please check if the sound drivers are installed fine.
Line in option will be for an external mic. Right click on the sound on the taskbar icon, click on recording devices and checked if there is a detected internal mic.
Click the internal mic properties and ensure that the levels are to the max and start-up level too.
To check if the internal MIC is able to record. Click on Start - Programs - Accessories - sound recorder.
Click Start record and talk to see if she is able to save and try to play the recorded file and check.
If one doesn't work always not so micro internal is a failure and you can also check with an external mic.

  • Error code: Trying 80072F8F update windows after fresh install - Dell Vostro 1510 - (Windows 7 x 64 PRO)

Hello, I'm trying to update windows after installation and I get error code 80072F8F.  After looking for other pages, I checked my BIOS date and time are correct and Windows as well.

    Laptop: Dell VOSTRO 1510
    Windows 7 x 64 PRO

I already activated Windows (silly me to check everything actually works) and I need a solution as soon as POSSIBLE.

I needed Windows update to try and fix a number display adapter (card intel not giving not external display resolutions)- but that's another question.

I hope that there is a fix out there somewhere in the ether.

The foregoing notwithstanding, and since you neglected to install an antivirus application...

Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

  • Dell Vostro 1520 / formatting now WiFi NOT work...

    Hello

I formatted my Dell Vostro 1520 and now the wifi does not work, I get an exclamaition mark on my device manager...

    Thanks in advance

When you perform a clean installation of Windows (which is what I assume you are talking about "formatted my Dell Vostro), you must reinstall all hardware drivers.

If you have used a method of restoration costs of factory Dell, then drivers for integrated hardware would have been included.

    So...

If you used a CD to install Windows XP to do a clean install of windows AND your wifi adapter is built into your computer, go to the Dell Support, enter your Service tag, download drivers for your computer.  Note: you must proceed even if your wifi adapter is not integrated into your computer, because you must install drivers for other devices on your computer.

If your wifi adapter is NOT integrated with your computer, visit the website of the manufacturer of the adapter, and download the appropriate driver.

    Hello

    Troubleshoot camera connection
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Troubleshoot-camera-connection-problems

You probably need to recharge the device drivers and camera control software (usually included
with the drivers and installed at the same time).

    Login as an administrator.

Double-click Control Panel / Device Manager - Imaging - writing down of the brand and model of camera.
on this subject and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who are unable to do anything as MS
is far behind the pilots of certification). RIGHT click on the camera - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it
    will update the driver stack.

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for the camera and the other related camera
software (if not more recent get the same).

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Manually look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers to 7 (update drivers manually using the methods above is preferred
to make sure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

Then let windows updates on however prevent loading of drivers who are often older than the
those that you have installed. If updates suggests a pilot and then HIDE it and watch manually to see if their
really is a more recent version (at the time system manufacturer and the sites of the manufacturer of the device).

    Hello

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: install the latest Windows Vista compatible touchpad drivers for your laptop by downloading from the Dell Support website and check if that helps:

You can download the drivers for the touchpad from following link:

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=W732&catid=7&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=VOS_N_1015&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False

Method 2: Try these steps described in the article in support of Dell and check if it helps.

Mouse, keyboard or the Touchpad works not properly:

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/KCS/document?docid=277550

Note: Follow the steps for the "Troubleshooting a keyboard or a touch pad integrated into the laptop.

If the problem persists, then it would be best to contact Dell for assistance.

    Dell support: http://support.Dell.com/

    Hope it will be useful.
