Dell XPS 13 (9343) touchpad scrolling speed.
So I just took my brand new Dell laptop XPS 13 (9343) today and everything works perfectly. The only problem I have with it at the moment is the speed of the touchpad, because I believe that it is too slow for my taste. I can't find the touchpad settings in the Control Panel, I can't find any drivers concerned for the model I have.
Is it possible to increase the scrolling speed?
In fact, I have an answer for this question...
Normally I do not have...
Just stumbled on this one on another site...
The setting of the speed of the trackpad is actually used for the speed of the mouse. For example, to increase the number of lines to scroll to the mouse and it affects the speed of scrolling for the trackpad...

HelloI have a Dell XPS 13 9343 provided with windows 8.1 and I have upgraded to windows 10.I would like to format and do a clean install of windows 10 and after that to create a dual boot with ubuntu.I don't want to retrieve anything, just in any format. My question is:1. What is the best way to do it? Is there a preparation necessary before formatting (except backup)? If anyone can point me to a relevant detailed guide, it will be great.2. do I need to care that I want to install ubuntu in dual boot, when I format and install windows? Or just to install after windows is already installed?Thank you.
10 Windows will recreate all the partitions it needs. If you want to save your old settings factory Dell backup and restore use to make a bootable USB:

I want to add my voice to the chorus that the touchpad on the XPS 13 9343 (early 2015) gives me fits. I installed the BIOS A01, did not help significantly.
- Cursor jumps around under palm ghost touches, even without touching the touchpad
- sometimes unable to leave his right hand on the pavement and let button to work with the left hand
- sometimes is unresponsive for several seconds. especially vertical scrollbar in Firefox
- cursor jumps on the two right and left clicks, often by clicking the wrong button in the process
- occasional clicks ghosts when you pull the mouse on the page
The XPS 13 is a beautiful notebook. He really need an app fully featured touchpad to set the sensitivity and eliminate too sensitive behaviors.
By the waay, types also sometimes double keyboard. Another feature that should be easily resolved with a period of repetition that does not exist.
Your best bet is to send it back while you still can and are looking for another machine but not from Dell.
Look at the spectrum by HP for example, it seems to have the same features and cost much less. Search the touchpad before buying.
Dell has knowledge on touchpad problems for a while and has had plenty of time to give us pilots and a screen put up so that each person can adjust the touchpad to his personal preferences. But in my opinion reason he hangs out and do not admit there is a problem means that Dell is not going to solve the problem.
Some even want to blame Microsoft, compare that to buy a new car and say Ford says go to manufacturing the parts for an item replaced or fixed. Completely ridiculous!
I paid Dell $1599,00 plus tax and this means that Dell is the responsible party.
How is it possible that Dell designed, built prototypes and run operational tests on these machines without noticing that the touchpad has so many problems?
I have an E560 with Win7Pro, my problem is I want to change the speed of scrolling with two fingers when I am scrolling web sites.
To do this I have open the touchpad settings and set the speed to a lower 'confirm', the scroll has been slower, but only as long the window with the parameters of the touchpad was not closed. After I closed it, the scrolling speed is back as before (fast), when I open again the settings everythings looks that I've set. All the other options I changed for the touchpad are set and after that I closed the working parameters only the scrolling speed will not change.
I tried to do it with the old drivers and new drivers and in administrator mode, nothing works.
Maybe you have an idea?
I found the solution, but this isn't the way it should be done.
In the mouse option (I don't have a mouse) in the section "wheel," I had to change 2 lines of scrolling to scroll 1 line. Now, the speed is reduced but the scrolling is not smoth how it should be.
Problem has been reported to Lenovo support and I hope they'll release in the future new drivers for the touchpad and solve this problem.
I have a XPS 13 9350 with a clean install of Windows 10 on Bios 1.2.3. The touchpad has a couple of questions:
(1) full of energy when scrolling. In a Web browser, when using two fingers to scroll down, to release the screen pops up a little - sometimes jumps to the top of the page again. It's better described is this post, but with no resolution:
(2) tap to click sometimes stops working. When this happens if I move a finger on the pad a little and try again, it starts working again.
3) click done drag provided by himself. More often than otherwise, if I click and hold the button on the touchpad to move a file, it is free until the button is released. Its almost impossible to move emails between folders in outlook because of this behavior.
Here are common questions of interest? I get a faulty hardware? I run Dell Update utility, but apparently my system is up to date.
Hi, I had questions specifically chrome scroll when the 9350 XPS13 was released in November. The update of Windows 10 TH2 which sets however. I assume that you have already updated to Windows?
Yours sounds like you have a defective hardware and must be an easy diagnosis to Dell support.

You don't want to say 'mouse '. You mean " touchpad ". Yes?
If it is the touchpad that you wanted to say, try this...
Right click on open sapce of desktop > click mouse pointers > here I can't give you the exact step-by-step becuse if you do not have a Dell PC, you do not have the options of the mine has.
But, in any event find the button that will take you to touchpad settings where you can make adjustments. You can actually turn it off.
If you do not have a Dell, after return
Is it possible to change my Samsung 950PRO NVMe disk SSD?
Will find the BIOS that SSD? If no, when we will have a new BIOS that could do?
Samsung 950 Pro work and boot on XPS 9343 just make sure you install Windows 10 in partition for UEFI GPT not MBR. The problem is XPS 9343 only supported PCI-E x 2 not x 4 max read speed is about 800 MB/s and write about 700 MB/s on ATTO.
I am facing a problem where about 50% of the time that I start my XPS 13 9343, I have a red X on the "speaker" icon and no audio. If I have the mouse on the icon it says "no audio output device is installed".
Looking at the HW Realtek Audio Codec in the Device Manager, it says:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
The requested operation failed. »
After seeing this, I uninstalled and deleted the driver through Device Manager. I reinstalled the driver from the Dell website (9343_Audio_Driver_X22K2_WN32_7422.118.0_A01. (EXE). I always feel the question.
Anyone who sees the same thing?
This post to help more dell XPS 13 9343 users.
I bought my XPS 13 9343 with windows by default 8. I upgraded to windows 10 today and found the same problem with you.
Downloaded and installed all the drivers updated, does not work.
Dell system tried to detect and pilot managers, automatic download failed. So I manually downloaded an audio driver, in a loop of uninstall, reboot, installation, does not work.
Finally, I decided to change to 9343_BIOS_Rev_A07 BIOS, Dell XPS 13 9343 system BIOS; and restart the computer, it works!
So much pain... hope this helps
Hi all. I bought Dell XPS 13 9343 and its wifi gives me problem. After all few minutes wifi disconnects automatically on its own. A week ago, my Dell XPS 13 running Windows 8.1 suddenly stopped working about 1-3 minutes after the start, then rebooted - just to keep crashing and restarting after a few minutes. Unable to understand what caused the problem, I did a clean install of Windows 10; that is, fitness and installing W10 bootable USB drive.
After installing a few Dell drivers (wifi, video, sound), the problem returns. Same question; After connection, Windows seems to start as usual, then crashes after 1 to 3 minutes.
The system is a Dell XPS 13 (9343), i7-5500, 512 GB SSD, QHD touchscreen.
TIA for any help.
The memory on this model is welded in - it cannot be deleted.
If you haven't run a complete diagnosis of the hardware, F12 repeatedly at startup will help you do. You can also watch to see if you have crash dump files (WhoCrashed is a good utility for their sight-reading).
I need synaptic touch pad drivers for my DELL XPS L502X for Windows - 8 Pro.
Can't find the official dell drivers download page.
Without these drivers, my contact is not touch double to scroll up and down.
Try to Synaptics Touchpad http://downloads-us.dell.com/FOLDER00800134M/2
Is it possible to turn on/off the touchpad with a keyboard shortcut?
I have a Dell XPS 13 and this has bugged me for a year. I have finally fixed it, via a registry command line:
To disable the trackpad, run
Tracking Add "HKCU\Software\Cypress TrackPad Driver\Device Select" v EnableTrackPad /t REG_DWORD /d 1 f
To activate the trackpad, run
Tracking Add 'Select HKCU\Software\Cypress TrackPad Driver\Device' v EnableTrackPad /t REG_DWORD 0 f d
Note that disabling the trackpad shows a slight delay in it taking effect.
To automate these commands, save each command in a batch file, for example turnoff.bat, turnon.bat, then you can run them from the windows, run the command (windows key + start typing the path towards the bat file) or via a shortcut app, like slickrun.
Since installing Win7-64 (Dell XPS) I noticed a weird scroll effect. Approximately 2-3 seconds after the mouse scroll wheel, the active window "jumps" over a level of scrolling in the same direction, without any input from me.
Don't happen every time, but often enough that it problems. Either I will scroll at a given place in the list of folders in Windows Explorer, then go get a file to drag to a folder, but before that I can drop the list folders scrolls by itself. I've seen this happen in many programs, including Windows Explorer, IE8, Firefox, Eclipse, oxygen/XML, Textpad...
Anyone has any ideas, what is the cause?
· What is the model number of the computer?
· You have installed the latest drivers for the mouse?
I suggest to change the mouse settings, you can check the link below: change the settings of the mouse:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-mouse-settings
(Refer to the section: to change the mouse wheel works)

Hello, I am new to this forum.
The function FN + F3 that disable the Touchpad does not work, my laptop Dell XPS 17 (L702X)
I googled my problem and the only thing I found was this: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19454265.aspx
I think that my problems with the touchpad started when I plugged a mouse into the USB port. It didn't work (it worked well before), and in material-sound-mouse control panel, the system asked me to uninstall a driver or other. I do not remember, but later the mouse worked.
After this weird thing with the mouse, I noticed that the touchpad was malfunctioning. While I write, the cursor moves without touching the touchpad, it is annoying because it makes me write bad because he is moving in the middle of writing, as I write so it's a mess.
The second oddity, the Fn + F3 does not disable the touchpad, the orange light come on (the led on the top of the touchpad), but the cursor can be moved in any case, with or without a connected mouse.
I checked for driver updates, perform an audit of the system, checked for viruses, spywares and I don't know what I could do. I don't know if the problem with the mouse had nothing to do with the function Fn + F3 problem.
I have not formatted or re installed windows 7, never.
In Device Manager I have this:
-mouse and other pointing devices:-Compatible PS/2 mouse
Help, please. Thank you.
DOH! Problem between Chair and keyboard...
Run the executable file of Synaptics.
Download of extracts only the program on your disk. You must manually install the driver for the Synaptics touchpad with its own executable.
FN + F3 now disables =)
I will try to explain the problem as well as possible. Lets see if I'm not the only one with this problem.
So first of all, touch-pad of the Dell XPS worked pretty well with the last update for windows 8.1 Pro systems. And when I talk of the button I mean the gesture of finger multi thingy. After the release of windows 10 it still work quite well and after a same update added some new features that make it work touch-pad of almost like Mac. BUT after awhile, they published an another update, then, touch-pad became a complete *. The option multi gesture suggested that all tapping with three fingers, it will evoke Cortana and everything by sliding upward with three fingers must turn on the switch of the task and drag to the low reduced all windows. But what it actually is: while tapping with 3 fingers evokes Cortana, while sliding to the top, he mentions Cortana and while sliding down, it opens the settings (which is not yet included in the parameters of the multi touch-pad finger gesture).
I tried change the driver for an old, reinstall the new case is just something with the file of the driver. Nothing works. She keeps just be * and that's all
I can't contact support technology guide for I ask some advice here. If someone has the same thing or know the solution I'd be happy to hear it.
Thanks in advance,
Yep, it's a problem with the drivers from Dell which has been around since the beginning of August, at least (just Google and you will see), so clearly, they're never going to correct something. They are too busy to load all of their laptops with new crapware. Useless company.
