Delayed mouse wheel Scrolling on Dell XPS running Windows 7

Since installing Win7-64 (Dell XPS) I noticed a weird scroll effect.  Approximately 2-3 seconds after the mouse scroll wheel, the active window "jumps" over a level of scrolling in the same direction, without any input from me.

Don't happen every time, but often enough that it problems.  Either I will scroll at a given place in the list of folders in Windows Explorer, then go get a file to drag to a folder, but before that I can drop the list folders scrolls by itself.  I've seen this happen in many programs, including Windows Explorer, IE8, Firefox, Eclipse, oxygen/XML, Textpad...

Anyone has any ideas, what is the cause?

Hi ExUmbris,

·        What is the model number of the computer?

·        You have installed the latest drivers for the mouse?

I suggest to change the mouse settings, you can check the link below: change the settings of the mouse:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-mouse-settings

  • connection my heartbeat in my Dell XPS with Windows 8.1 connects not through they are paired

    Separated from this thread.

Whenever I hit the button to connect, it just eventually times out. I made sure that my headphones are on and through this article to make sure that everything was set up properly, but in vain. They work great with all the phones that I've matched with so far.

  • Since the installation of Firefox 5 the page (like a mouse wheel) scroll buttons don't work anymore. I have a laptop Acer Aspire 5720 Windows Vista. Help, please!

    any IDE?

    Install WizMouse. It will allow you to overcome the problems of mouse wheel that Mozilla cannot fix or don't choose to set:

    http://antibody-software.com/Web/index.php?ref=WizMouse

    I had problems with wheel scrolling for Firefox 4, and each later version look worse rather than better.

  • Disable via the mouse wheel scrolling

    Here's my situation.

    I have a text box that is filled with text (text that can be displayed). I have scroll bars removed so that you can not scroll with them, but you can still scroll with a mouse wheel. How can I disable this? I tried a number of things, but nothing seems to work.

    I think I need an event listener and a function must be performed on ScrollEvent.SCROLL, but what would it be? TextArea have scrollPosition, so I can't do myTextArea.scrollPosition = 0; or something of the sort.

    If anyone has an idea how to go about it, throw it upwards on the set, it would be really appreciated.

    Thank you!

    As I couldn't find anything on this anywhere... I'll post the solution I got programmers yahoo group.

    package
    {
    Import mx.controls.TextArea;

    public class newTextArea extends TextArea
    {
    override protected function createChildren() (): void
    {
    super.createChildren ();
    textField.mouseWheelEnabled = false;
    }
    }
    }

  • Dell XPS 18 windows 8 tiles and CD key issues

    Greetings,

    I just buy Dell XPS 18, i3-3227u, 4 GB of Ram.

    -When the RMB (right button) on a tile, I can see a checkmark appears briefly and disappears.  I don't see any option to remove or install new tiles.  Am I missing something?

    -Where can I find the keys to Windows 8 CD installed on my system?  I look at my Dell app and quick guide provided without result.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    To get your key of Windows 8 use the VB of MS script

    http://Gallery.technet.Microsoft.com/scriptcenter/backup-Windows-product-key-1a200645

    Depending on the application you are trying to install the uninstall is not available. Probably these are programs by default Windows 8 as the camera application.

    Another reason from what I saw was that the applications do not provide an uninstall of all (poorly written) application.

    To remove or add new tiles, go to applications (in the main of scroll down screen), right-click on the application and click on what you want to do.

  • Intel Centrino Advanced - N 6235 problems with Dell XPS 12 (Windows Pro 8, "disconnect / media disconnected")

    I recently bought a 12 XPS with windows 8 x 64 preinstalled. I was not able to maintain a stable connection to my WLAN. However, 7 other devices (laptops, etc.) are all connected without problem. Only the troubled computer runs W8. I have the latest drivers for the Centrino chipset and the ProSet (and everything else) download from Dell on March 14. Sometimes it connect, but after a few minutes it disconnects again. Sometimes I media disconnected and other times a limited connection where the DHCP Server data could not be collected. Seems very irrational!

    The configuration is default Dell. Any ideas?

    I downloaded the latest drivers from Intel and a clean installed (actually it didn't work after 3 installs!) I also changed the channel on the router to 11. Now, it seems to work. I suspect that the problem is caused by the driver in W8, but never less the drivers provided by Dell did not

  • Dell XPS 18, Windows 8.1 using fixed headphones hissing, update the driver Realtek!

    I solved my problem and I wanted to just document here in case someone else goes through this. Just got my new 'giant tablet to the search"Dell XPS 18 last week. He loved until I decided to use my Bose headphones to listen to SiriusXM. I bagged just about up to return the XPS when I hear a constant hissing sound coming through the headphones. So I tried to listen to something on Youtube, and even with the muted Youtube audio, I even heard a shrill whistle.  Naturally, when energy saving, kicking because none audio wasn't playing, everything went quiet, but the whistle came right back as soon as any sound played through the headphones.

    The ATTEMPT FAILED: as more irritable geeks, I did an uninstall driver full audio drivers. Then I downloaded the drivers from the Dell Support Web to ensure site I had later and did a reinstall with a few reboots. Not surprisingly, I always understood that annoying hissing static coming through the headphones. Then I found somewhere a mention to go to Realtek.

    SOLUTION: Go to the Realtek site (www.realtek.com.tw) > click on downloads in main menu > click on High Definition Audio Codecs (software) > accept the advice > download 64-bit Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1 driver only. Version R2.73. I clicked and downloaded the link US2: 64bit_Win7_Win8_Win81_R273.exe (103MB). I then ran the installation program which required two reboots to install completely.

    ITS OWN PURE! The hiss is now gone when listening with headphones.  Moreover, the Dell Audio MAXX Audio Pro, which is delivered on the Dell XPS 18 works always. I don't know what hidden feature, I could have lost, but I consider that it is resolved.

    Hope this helps someone who decides to use the headset with the Dell XPS 18

    1 million thanks!

    Worked like a charm!

  • Dell XPS M1530 Windows reinstalled Vista, network driver does not

    Hi, I had to replace the hard drive on my Dell XPS M1530 because of the complete failure of hard drive.

    I installed Windows Vista and also installed all the drivers from Dell. All of them seem to work fine except the driver of Ethernet controller and wireless adapter one. I tried to download the drivers from Dell Web site, but who moved it - it comes up with this message: "the device could not be detected. Installation interrupted.

    In other words, that I can't connect to the internet, so using computer for a friend right now. Is there a driver I can download to make it work?

    Hi, thanks for all your suggestions. I tried to look at all the possibilities in terms of manually install the drivers, but nothing has worked.

    So in the end I bought a USB key external wi - fi and with that, I managed to connect to the internet. Once connected, the laptop must have then auto-téléchargé the right driver for the internal modem, because a few days later, I managed to connect to the internet even without needing the key external wi - fi.

  • Dell XPS 8700 Windows 10 questions with SD card reader

    Hi, I bought a new Dell XPS 8700 three months ago.  It comes with Windows 8, even if I asked for preinstalled Win10.  The Win10 upgrade process was fairly straightforward.  However so far three times the SD card reader stopped working.  I fix it by reinstalling the drivers.  Its not working again and my USB stopped working also.  Is there a background process that interferes with USB / SD card drivers?  Anyone else noticed this behavior.

    Rgds Frank

    You can try this:

    Go into Device Manager, and then double-click the entry for your SD card reader. Assuming that he has one, click on the power management tab, and uncheck the box 'allow the PC turns off... ». Now, do the same thing in Manager of devices for all your USB root hubs.

    Then go to the options screen to win 10 powers, click on advanced settings and turn off hybrid sleep. Reboot and see if that helps.

  • DELL XPS 710 - Windows XP MCE key does not work

    Hello!

    I try to reinstall Win XP MCE on my DELL XPS 710.

    I downloaded Win XP MCE 2005 CD of Microsoft MSDN Software Repository.

    The license on my DELL XPS sticker is in a good shape, so I can read all characters.

    But the routine installation of Windows me, says that the key is not valid.

    Can you help with this question.

    Thank you.

    Tom

    the XP license on your Dell computer is OEM and it's MSDN, retail. The keys are not interchangeable. You have need a version of XP MCE OEM or better yet a Dell XP MCE 2005 DVD of resettlement which will automatically be enabled in the Dell BIOS without entry of a product key.

  • Attempt to connect wi fi on my Dell computer, running windows XP? Have DSL but not Ethernet. Faced with problems. Checked with CISCO router but not help there. CANY anyone help

    I have a problem connecting to a Cisco E100 router to my computer. My count (office) does not have a wireless. I have DSL from. Cisco tells me to plug a router using Ethernet cable to connect. I don't have an Ethernet connection on my computer. At present I have USB connect the computer to the Westell modem.  Can anyone help? I hope this is enough information. Basically what I'm hoping to do is to install the WiFi so I can use a tablet now and maybe a laptop this last on.

    Thank you

    On the routers only house you can use USB connections are those provided by some ISPs.  An Ethernet connection between the router and the computer is far more preferred.

    Your router a Cisco E1000 or is it really E100 (I thought that Cisco makes a model with this designation not)?

    It is quite surprising that you don't have an Ethernet connection that is built into your computer.  What is the complete model number (or, preferably, the Number of Service Dell)?

    Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK).  Expand the "Network card" category by clicking on the + next to him.  What devices are listed in this category.

    If you don't really have an Ethernet or an adapter wireless built into your computer, you can add one, using a PCI internal (if you have a desktop/Tower computer) or external (PC card for laptops) or USB to laptops or desktop/towers.

    Also, the normal configuration is to connect your DSL modem to the router and then the router to the computer.  If your Westell modem has an Ethernet connection, you must use your new router in a non-standard configuration.  Even if the Westell modem has an Ethernet port, you may need to do some reconfiguration for her as well.  What is the complete model of the Westell modem number?
