• text captions are not not on registration of Captivate

  I am using captivate 8

  I select software simulation new Record

  In the settings, I select the demo mode and check Add text captions.

  But when I save and read/pulbish there are no subheadings created for when I click the buttons/menus (I do a recording of some actions that I do on the chrome browser) on the screen or in the timeline panel. Have I missed something obvious that I need to check?

  I was going to suggest the liberal use of the PrintScreen key so...

  And I always when you save web applications.

  Captivate picks up clicks of buttons and adds simple captions, using "system hooks. For example, when point 'File' Notepad is clicked, it generates a Windows event that Captivate can 'hear '.

  Web/browser applications do that (usually), Captivate can 'hear' the clicks... so you have to hit 'PrintScreen' any when click you an element in the web application and manually capture with PrintScreen key.

  I want to do a text caption to disappear.

  I don't want to use a reversal or slidelet because their region (even transparent) hotspot covers the button that stops the top, above and to the low States of reversal of projection (I want the different State colors to show).   You cannot trigger an advanced action with a text caption, with an interactive object, only those who have an accordion of Action:

  I wrote 'create a variable user with a default 0 ". This isn't the label of a text entry box. You can create a project, Variables or in the dialog box variable advanced actions, that has a button "Variables".

  I used a smartshape as text container, it is indeed this text container (can also be a text caption) you want to hide, right?

• How to organize a table like 'move with the text' and 'around and underneath "? For now, my only option in the menu drop-down is "in line with text.

  Hello. I am trying to format a table, so that when I hit it, it moves to the bottom of the page and the bumps any text underneath down as well (that is if you can see the whole table and all text at any time)

  However, the only options I seem to have are moving with the text > inline with the text. The first part is what I want, but having the means of inline with the text of table than all text below it floats UNDER the table, and you can't read it.

  PIC 1 - My only option when "move with the text" is selected. As you can see all the other features are also grayed out.

  

  Photo 2 - I want now, select above and below, but when I select something other that in line with the text...

  You can have a floating table in v4.3 Pages ' 09 that moves before the text typed before it, but this feature has not been added to any release of v5 Pages. Simply set the table in the Wrap Pages ' 09 Inline with the text Inspector, and object causes the film if you wish.

  I'm under v5.6.1 Pages on 10.11.3. Table and image in the screenshot below have wrapping of text around the value and purpose of investment for both is stay on the Page. Get a text wrapping. Is this your goal of flow?

  I am using Captivate 7.0.1.237 on Windows 7.

  I created a questionnaire that is customized with the last screen showing a message of congratulations and the total score. The total score is variable. The legend appears on the "Edit" mode. But when I publish it as a SWF, spacing stops to the variable.

  I inserted the variable using the accordion Format. What I tried:

  • The simultaneous use of smartshapes and text captions
  • Different browsers (FireFox 24, IE 11, Google Chrome 32)
  • Typed content in Notepad and copy it to the legend smartshape and text.
  • Typed content directly in the legend smartshape and text.

  I get the same result in each scenario.

• Text captions do not appear when it is used with text entry areas (C3)

  I'm building a simulation of accounting system where the learner needs to enter data.  I entered text boxes (one per blade) appearing all the time on the slide.  I have captions that tell the student what to enter, but are synchronized with the audio, then a final text legend who told them how to go to the next slide (press tab, etc.).  My problem is that the text captions do not appear if they are configured to appear after the text input area appears on the time line.  Has anyone experience this problem?  Any suggestions?

  We have created a work around using a highlight box where the text entry box will appear later - so that all the text captions and text entry boxes appear at the same time.  Should be an easier way!

  Yes, we see this question over and over again. Especially with new users.

  You need to come to terms with the works of Captivate. Imagine it's like a stream flowing by. Expect a legend to appear, but something stopped the flow. Blocking is your text box for entry (TEB). He interrupts the slide, waiting for your user to enter data.

  The key here is that you need to adjust the point break for ETB.

• Text caption options Timing change after a change

  I'm trying to highlight a matrix to four separate slides. I made my text box caption and box to highlight a slide and copied and pasted for the next three years. When I went to change the text in the copied 3 legends, the calendar options changed on me. For example, on one I set ignition to 10 seconds and when I tested it I realized that it showed for only about 3. I have no idea why this has changed. I found an old post of someone and the suggestion was to uncheck a box "calculate the timing." I am using Captivate 3 and have found no such box to uncheck. Any help would be wonderful!

  Hi Kim and welcome in our community

  Click the Project menu and see if you have a check box next to the option "calculate caption Timing '. I guess you do.

  Deselect the option and the time should be left alone.

• How to align text captions?

  Hello all captivate masters and gurus.

  I was tasked to create a very large project.  Since the total slides will be in the thousands, I want to handle everything that goes into this project with the styles.  For the text, I decided I want the text in the Captivate, images of the imported PowerPoint presentation text.  Appliances, I'm going to copy all the text in the text caption boxes (I guess the legend text boxes are the only option for text boxes, but please correct me if I'm wrong). I created a new style of legend in the Style of the object manager, but I don't see anywhere to set the location of the grid of the text caption so it appears in the same place on each slide.  How to adjust the alignment of the caption text (alignment of the grid of the slide, no alignment of the text in the box)?

• Button to display invisible text captions

  Hi all!

  I'm sure there is a simple answer to my question, but since I have been looking and try things for a few days I thought going up the white flag and ask for help. I am a new user of Captivate 5.5 and advanced options, but I think I have a basic gist - just enough to get me in trouble.  So what I'm trying to accomplish:

  I have four text captions on a slide I want to allow the user to make visible by clicking a button. Most likely a transparent button placed on an image, but for now is not serious what the button looks like, just that it works. I put the button that success, it assigns a 1 to a variable named v_click (from lilybiri blog ROCKS!) and she has 5 attempts so that when the last attempt, it passes to the next slide. I wrote my first two advances of actions to check the v_click variable and depends on what this number is, see the corresponding text caption. When I saw the project, the button does nothing and my legends remain invisible. I'm sure I'm missing a step somewhere but I can't seem to get my reflection process on the right track. Ideas or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

  I am so sorry and once again on the tablet. You must show 4 text captions, every click must show in the sequence TC1, TC2, TC3, TC4. And to track clicks that we use the user created var v_click. The two actions are done in a single decision. When all the captions are visible and the user again clicks, a button should appear. But not sure sicelle last action is out or with the appearance of the last TC4. Decisions are executed in the order:

  Decision 1

  IF v_click is greater than 4

  THEN see the BtNext

  Decision 2

  IF v_click is equal to 4

  THEN see the TC4

  Expression v_click = v_click + 1

  Decision 3

  IF v_click is equal to 3

• Captivate 5.5, problem: Timing automaticlly created in demonstration mode text captions.

  I make videos in demonstration mode and I really enjoy text captions created automatically when you click on a place. The problem is that thay are displayed for 3 seconds, while my standard slide is 5 seconds. I changed the default for the text of the legend 'rest of slide' and that works when I insert a text caprion manually but not when thay are created by the program. I can't find a place where this default can be changed.

  Sorry, I checked it out on a small project and it works perfectly. Will try to explain in steps:

  • capture the demo, all captured text captions will have a duration of 3secs
  • Select one of these legends of captured text and change its "timing" to 5secs in the Timing of its properties panel accordion
  • use the small curved arrow (see screenshot) and select apply to all items with the same style
  • all elements including the default capture the text caption will now run for 5secs

  Since it's a workflow after capture, the duration of the slide if it has not changed yet will these 5secs increase as well.

  I've edited a text caption in the text of the Caption dialog box and closed with the OK button. The duration (the caption text dialog box > Options tab > calendar > display for :) changed even though I didn't change it.) Someone had this problem?
