Should I move to El Capitan? (EtreCheck included)

Hello, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to update the Mavericks to El Capitan. Especially because of the updates of the video card. When I bought my Imac, games run smoothly, but now the quality is declining

Thank you!

Upgrade the operating system to a computer running slowly will usually make the problem worse. You should first try to solve the underlying problem.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.

Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.

Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the journal excerpt, an error message may appear on the web page: "you include content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.

If you have an account on Pastebin, please do not select private in exposure menu to paste on the page, because no one else that you will be able to see it.

  • Should I move to El Capitan of Mavericks

Currently have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro Mavericks to market with a 1 TB hard drive and a 2.26 gHZ processor. Just upgraded from 4 to 8 RAM with original thoughts to move towards El Capitan. I use Aperture 3.5.1, but understand that I would need to go to 3.6 so I went to El Capitan. Did some research and see how it is possible, if I move the current version of opening up a separate drive, install El Capitan and then switch to 3.6.

All that being said, I wonder if I shouldn't even bother? I read on a few small problems, opening running on El Capitan. I know that I was able to partition my drive so that I can continue to work opening on Mavericks and El Capitan execution for all the rest, but that would be a pain to switch back and comes just to use other programs. I'm not so maybe that's not as much hassle I think it would be the guy most in computer science. Is it worth it to switch to El Capitan, or should I just stick with what I have now and enjoy the new my rugged up RAM speed?

Only if you need since it is not a requirement. Never upgrade until you are sure that all of your critical software mission runs or can be upgraded to run on the new version of the OS.

Eventually, however, you will need to upgrade to El Capitan. Unless you have a USB bootable installer of the Mavericks by car or kept the Mavericks Installer, you will not be able to reinstall it.

  • Should I move to El Capitan?

I currently have a 13 "MacBook Pro 7.1 (mid-2010) with 4 GB of memory running on OS X 10.6.8.  I noticed that a lot of bands ceased to support snow leopard, so I tell myself I must improve afterwards, but I don't know how this will affect my computer. Can I spend without worry or should try everything first of an older OS? All I have to do if I decide to upgrade?

  • should I move an IMac 8.1 to El Capitan?

Hi, I had a very old IMac lying around (imac 8.1. It has 2 GB of memory and a single Intel processor) and I didn't have Snow Leopard top to get El Capitan on it and upgrade the memory to 4 GB, it's worth the expense and time or is this machine? Or should I just leave it like that? Currently, I use it just because it is really slow.

It would be an iMac in early 2008, and even with only 2 GB of RAM should not be turn slowly. Upgrade to El Capitan will not improve speed - even if you upgrade to 4 GB of RAM.

  • Should I update to El Capitan Mountain Lion?

Hello. I have a MacBookAir5 1: Intel Core i5: 1.7 GHz: memory: 4 GB. I'm still with OS 10.8.5 when bought around 2012. I don't know if I should go to El Capitan while available because I continue to read comments about upgrading slow their macs after the upgrade - and then the decision is regrettable. This has been holding back me. I want / need this MacBookAir to continue to work for me as long as possible - and safe (because I get more security for this OS updates). Advice from those who have experienced the same dilemma or can give advice on this subject are very much appreciated.

  • How to move to El Capitan when running crashplan

I use Crashplan to back up my Mac and my external drive (where are stored all my pictures and files) on another external drive and Crashplan central (the cloud). So, I wanted to know if there are all the necessary requirements or procedure I must follow if I want to move to OSX Mavericks to OSX El Capitan? Such as, if I need to completely disable the crashplan app (once it's done with its current backup), or simply pause the application will work. Also permanently, I leave the backup drives attached to the Mac, and the external drive that I use to transfer of work between the home and the College is connected now too. • should I have reinstalled el capitan on flash part of the promenade of the merger?

Don't ask me why, but... After reformatting MacMini I rebooted ElCapitan on the web. He asks whether to load on the hard drive or what I imagine to be the flash of his fusion drive part. I loaded it on the hard drive. Should I have chosen the flash part for best performance? Any way to move it?

On another issue, any reason why I do not see standard folders in the finder window (such as photos, movies, etc.), or a users folder? Was it a result of reloading the system?

    Thank you!

    Joe

I know not what year Mac Mini you have. I'll assume you have a Mac Mini 2014 you bought with a Fusion (128 GB SSD, 1 TB of HDD) drive.

Looks like you have not re-Fusion your drive. If this is the case, you can restart in the restoration of the Internet (Command + Option + R), select disk utility, select one of the drives (SSD or HARD drive) and I hope disk utility will ask you to CHALLENGE or IGNORE the fuser unit. If you get this choice, choose FIX, so it can recreate your drive of Fusion. Then, you must reinstall OS X. Make sure have a return flow upward.

If you want to keep readers separated, they so that you install OS X on the SSD performance. But we must be aware that the SSD is ONLY 128 GB.

Your 2nd question, you will probably need to open Finder/preferences, then on sidebar. Check the folders you want to display in the sidebar.

    Hey guys!
First of all, I would like to thank all of you who can answer, help much appreciated!

I waited until that servers are not overloaded with first time Uploaders (approximately 1 week of release) to download El Capitan, so it would not take years to download it from overloaded servers, I started noticing after awhile my super zippy early 2015 13 "MacBook Pro slow down.
