  Before starting to build custom to the Enterprise Oracle Business Suite (EBS) extensions I highly suggest that find you a job working firstly with EBS so you can learn the framework of EBS and how the various parts work together. Also, I recommend that consult the library of Documentation of Oracle Applications . Oracle is very clear on how to add customizations to the EBS.

  We have forms 10.1.2.0.2, and the automatic update to Java 7 has been applied by the Windows team is obviously incompatible with the version of forms, we have, so I try to find;

  The latest version of forms 11 GR 1 material (11.1.1.6) is certified with java 1.7.

  Some people might want their data in an area of separate network for security reasons.
  It also depends on if it is the same people who do maintenance on db and appserver.

  I am trying to build a java application using jbcd to connect to my Oracle Application Express DB but unable to connect actually using the following syntax:

  but finally I get the following error:

  IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection

  any ideas on what goes wrong will be appreciated...

  Simple answer... YOU can't connect externally to the hosted instance of Oracle with a jdbc connection or sql developer/Toad.  Not allowed...

  If you need this capability, I would suggest downloading of Oracle 11 g XE and building you own database...

Currently we use partitions and partition proning by specifying the name of the partition in our queries. Is there a way I can run these applications in a Standard edition? If not, is it possible that I can dynamically determine edition and run the queries accordingly from my code. Can I use same JDBC driver for standard editions and Enterprice?
