DeskJet 1280 and Vista

I have a 1280 Deskjet quite old but trustworthy. I can't connect with the new computer laptop Vista Basic. 1280 does not appear in HP list when I try to add a printer. The driver is easy to find (dj1280). The only 1200 series printer listed is the 1220C and is not lke my 1280. How can I get 1280 in the lists to add printer, then to access the correct driver!

You can download the driver from here the website of HP.

  • DeskJet D4260 and Vista - can't save property changes

Have Vista Home Premium on an HP computer and use a HP Deskjet D4260 printer.

I go into the printer properties and set them so that the printer will not use the color cartridge, but use black ink only. It works for a single document, but the next document, it goes immediately to the use of the color cartridge (in such a case, I think that it also uses the color cartridge to black, which is a terrible waste of ink, but profitable for HP).

Whenever I changed the properties of the printer to print with black ink only, I made sure that I have 'save' or 'apply' settings. The system refuses to keep the black-ink settings only.

This happens if the documents are all in black only, some color or all colors.

This happens regardless of program I can print: browser (IE8 and Firefox 3.5.1), word processing (Office 2007, OpenOffice 3.1) or anything else.

How can I force the printer settings to save and stay put to use black ink only? The driver files that I have to hack and how?

    Thank you

    Hello moxieman,

To change the default print settings, change it in the Printers folder printing preferences in the control panel: open Printers, right-click on the D4260 (should be called Deskjet D4200 series I think) and then click Printing Preferences.

  • DeskJet 825c and Windows Vista

I have the printer deskjet 825c and can not find a way to connect it to my computer that has Vista on it.  My computer says the disc that came with the printer doesn't have a drivers on this subject.  And HP, with all their wonderful help, does not seem to address this printer.  Everyone?

    Hello

Well, I'm sorry to say that Windows XP has been the latest Windows drivers available for this printer.  There is thus, not all Windows Vista drivers.

If you were to go to the product support for the product page and choose to download software and driver and search for your operating system.  And there is nothing available for Vista.

  • I need an updated driver for my HP DeskJet 1280 work with windows 7 64-bit, has issued summer yet?

I bought a new laptop with windows 7 64 bit home edition, my HP deskjet 1280 printer-A3 color is detected as an unknown device and asks to install the disk driver. This does not work, I am aware that when windows 7 are first released such a driver is not available.

If you have the HP website for Vista 64 bit, try this one, it should work in Win7.

    Hello

I have a HP Deskjet 1280 printer and recently upgraded my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10 x 64. The operating system cannot find a compatible driver for the printer and my attempts to find someone online have been unsuccessful.

Could you please help me and advice if and where I could find the driver I'm looking for?

    Thank you in advance!

The Deskjet 1220C driver available via Windows Update is a good match for the Deskjet 1280 Windows 10.

  • HP deskjet 1280: deskjet 1280

I have over 7 years using HP Deskjet 1280.

This year is the first time that I had a problem and sent to the printer for maintenance. The technician was surprised by the high number of 224 502 pages printed.
I think that HP must give a decorate to this printer and please tell me if you know where to find an another new Deskjet 1280.
    Thank you

    Hello

    Please use the forum!

Unfortunately, the 1280 Deskjet is longer in production.

There are a few B-size printers, for example 7610 AiO Officejet and Officejet 7510 AiO etc..

For a list of available printers, we suggest that you go to HP.com.

    Hope that helps!

  • HP Deskjet 1280 printing program (Mac)

I'm doing some impression of photos using my my Macbook Pro (OSX 10.6.8). Deskjet 1280

I installed the driver from here... http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=439174&p...

Later a HP have is 10.6.5 - I guess it should work with later versions. I installed what went well.

In printer "Driver" preferences, "Generic PCL Laser Printer" has been selected. With this selecetd, I could only print in B & W.

I tried to look for Deskjet 1280 in the drop-down list pilot but he wasn't there. The closest I could find was HP Deskjet 1200 C - v5.2.3 Glentenprint.

I tried printing with it and it prints in color. However, when I go to print, there is no options to select the type of paper, printing etc. The qulity that comes out is low.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

The pilot below 10.5 and below.

Officially, the unit is therefore more compatible with the new version of the OS.

The 3rd party Gutenprint printer driver does not support the specific printer.

However, you can try the 3rd party HPIJS print driver that support your printer. That's why should provide more detailed options and a better quality.

Below you can download HPIJS and find the installation instructions:

  • Driver for my HP DeskJet 1280 work with windows 8 pro 64-bit

I need an updated driver for my HP DeskJet 1280 work with windows 8 pro 64-bit, has issued summer yet?

No, and it will not be because the 1280 is an abandoned product.

What you have to do is to go to control panel > devices and printers > add a printer.

When in the process, you can use Windows Update to search for a driver, take it. The list of compatible printers is growing exponential, and your should now be in the list of printers HP or Hewlett Packard... This may take a few minutes to grow...

  • Need advice on the recovery CD and Vista upgrade on Satellite M100-222

I want to share my problem to get some tips. I got a laptop Satellite M100-222 Windows XP and Vista capable, then I got an upgrade to Vista and it works with few problems that do not recognize some programs.

That's why I have some needs and need your help and support and they are as follows:
1 - is possible to reformat using the upgrade of Vista, or need to reformat with XP first and then update with Vista.
2 - I tried several times to start the CD, DVD (product recovery) to reformat the laptop. However it is said (operating system not found).

    Kindly enlighten me.
    Concerning

    With regard to the point;

(* 1) * If you ONLY upgrade Vista CD, then it s necessary to start the first restore XP CD, and then upgrade to Vista.

(* 2) * usually start from the CD/DVD recovery must format the HARD drive and need to install the new image of Toshiba. Please check if you have started since the right recovery CD! Don't mix it with the Express Media Player recovery CD!

  • Official release of the drivers XP and Vista for Satellite Pro P100 - 465 PSPAEE

When will it be available for XP and Vista for the PSPAEE drivers? Currently there are drivers for the PSPA4E, some of whom work, others do not, no operating system. Yes the laptop is preinstalled with the Vista Upgrade and pilots work, but two of the pilot applications are blocked by Defender (NDSTRay / ConfigFree and VolControl). I couldn't get no option to allow to these (not yet classified MS so they are locked) told me to disable Defender technical support!
I tried a clean install of my own version of Vista business and had problems of drivers with that as well.

I would like to run XP until Vista is, shall we say, more effective I would use drivers specifically for her, so time would be very useful.

I would also like to know why there is a where a finger scanner could go under the 0 on the keypad, and a blocked stop lower PCMCIA port (PCI-E?) when any of these are available as an upgrade option? I missed these upgrade options or is it a case of recycled from another model, they exist? If the latter then it is quite cheap for a new machine :)

    Hello

We have all the users here can suggest only it seems that Vista and XP drivers are already available for Satellite Pro P100 PSPA4E
So in my opinion the next drivers for the next series should follow in the near future

I don t see it differently as to wait

Of course, you can test different drivers from different series as Sat P100.
Many laptop models use the same devices and therefore different unique pilots could be compatible

I deleted Norton and in fact the Windows Mail Send7Receive button start working. BUT then after about an hour it has stopped working again! I have re-installed Norton but the problem is still there! I can send E-mail of Mail when I exit and restart the station.

    Hello

I studied a little more on Norton and Vista compatibility issues and the Symantec Norton Internet Security is certainly compatible with Vista!

Also, I found a document very useful Toshiba on this subject:
    Check this box:

Windows Mail won't send or receive emails

It seems that the update of the Software Desktop SMS Installer version will help to address this problem.

  • I have a deskjet 1000 and bought the HP 61 cartridge.

I have a deskjet 1000 and bought the HP 61 cartridge. The deskjet printer came with 122 HP cartridges.  I tried to install the HP 61 cartridge but the message is "incompatible cartridge".

    Hello

You must use #122 cartridges, I know 61 = 122/2 but this is not the case. Please go to the shop and ask for a replacement.

    Kind regards.

  • I would like to install XP and Vista on a Tecra A9

    Hello

I want to install XP with Vista - have created a separate disk/volume & must go into the BIOS to cd XP will boot from there it starts & begins to implement loading files & then comes up with the message that it does not recognize the hard drives.

Someone can advise please & is there a reason THAT XP & Vista should not be set on this laptop (Tecra A9).

    Best regards PM

    Hello

Please do not hesitate to use the two OS on this notebook ;)

I put t see difficulty do. You must first install the XP on the laptop.
Then create a second partition on the HARD drive. On this score, you will be able to install Vista.

The Vista Setup program will create a boot manager so that you can choose between the two OS (XP and Vista) at startup.

Just try this. If something does not work please post again ;)
