I have a Deskjet 3520 and currently using Windows 8.1 without any problem.

Is the current driver for this printer compatible with Windows 10?

Or should I wait to upgrade to Windows 10?

Thank you very much for your advice.

Yes, thought the same thing, wait some time to upgrade to Windows 10.

Will do.

Welcome to the HP community @273frustrated,.

I understand that your 3520 Deskjet is no copy making more correctly however, you can print and scan without a problem. I will do my best to help! I might be far away but I suspect that there could be a problem with the printhead and it printing black ink. I say this because when you print from your computer, normally the ink colors mix to create a composite black, and when you print copies, it's only the black ink cartridge that is used.

I want you to try a power reset and make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

    Turn on the printer.
With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

À, discoonnect make sure that the cable and connect it to any USB 2.0 port, as the product HP do not support the USB3 and such a link can cause this King of the behavior.

    Hi @Barrry

    A few ideas come to mind. It seems that the question has something to do with the software. Let's first run the printer Installation Wizard because it could detect that something is missing and help to fill the gaps;

Click here to download and run the HP printer install wizard for Windows

If the problem persists, running the print and Scan doctor could help. Printing HP and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including but not limited to:

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.

  • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

    Hello:

As you know, Windows 10 has made it impossible to hide or ignore updates (or so it seems).

I found this tool from Microsoft that allows you to hide updates that don't work, or mess up your PC if they work, (as a synaptics touchpad update has done on my laptop).

  • DeskJet 3520 - print Invitations

I use a HP Deskjet 3520 on a Windows 7 PC. I am currently trying to print an invitation 5.5 "x 8.5" on Word 2010 and little matter the customizations that I try to do through word itself or the properties of the printer, the output prints still on the right side. Anyone know how to fix this?

Don't forget that my printer load paper of smaller size to the center of the status bar rather than the left or right. Any help would be appreciated... !

Daniel, from what you describe, you try printer 5.5 * 8.5 paper, however, the printer is not properly align printing with paper that you use. Is this correct?

First of all, I want to note that after checking the product specifications (link below) that the printer you have does not have 5.5 * 8.5 paper listed as some supported paper sizes (check under management specifications of the paper).

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03274848

Now, beyond that, after the centering of paper in the paper in the printer tray, you've been through both the program that you are using to print and the printer preferences (usually listed as 'Préférences' or 'Printer Preferences' in the print window) to make sure that you use paper size has been designated? The information must match both of what the computer sends and the printer expects to receive.

  • HP Deskjet 9300 printer range: printer HP Deskjet 9300 printer Windows 8.1 driver needs

    Hello

I really want to install my HP Deskjet 9300 printer to my new computer, but it is 8.1 window and I don't see any options for a printer driver compatible on the HP website.  Any advice would be much appreciated...

    Tom

    Hi, Tom.

Sorry to inform you, this printer is not supported in Windows 8 and cannot be used with the operating system.

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=295930&docid=emr_na-c03168175&docLocale=en_US

You try to install a such alternative driver available for Windows 7, but it is not officially supported, and there is no guarantees to make it work on Windows 8:

    1. Make sure that the USB cable is not connected to the product. If the USB cable is connected to the product, unplug it.
  • DeskJet 3520: Question of an another DeskJet 3520 print after changing the ink

Well, I'm another person with a POS deskjet 3520 which ceased print just black ink because I had the audacity to change a new cartridge. I've read at least 4 other threads full of posters with this problem extending over 1 1/2 years. I tried all the 'solutions' that HP experts say to try and not one worked. The printer is 1 month out of warranty now. I tried cleaning the contacts and updated the firmware and bought a second cartridge new, just in case the first was defective. HP really has need of man up and admit they have a problem with this model and fix.

As it comes a 3520 model, you must call phone HP support, even if it is out of warranty. See the post for more details

  • DeskJet 3520 prints OK, but gives the wrong error message.

Yesterday, I installed a brand new 3520 Deskjet on an existing Windows XP PC.

The printer prints the now very well two documents and test pages, it also copies OK.

But, every time it prints a page, Windows launched a misleading message that the printer is not connected.

There was a bit of a problem installing. When I came to the PC of someone else had tried to install it and the PC thought that the printer is connected to LPT1, a non-existent port port, is why it wouldn't print-out. I ran the installation CD, select USB connection and ended up with two 3520 s in "Printers and faxes" a LPT1 and USB, so I deleted the connected device LPT1 and renamed USB because he had one (1) is appended to the name. Maybe a part of still think Windows there are two 3520 s identical to which it can send print files, one that works and one that doesn't even have a port.

Any ideas how I can fix this error message / delete the ghost printer if that's what it is?

    (1) open printers & faxes
    (2) temporarily thing set as default printer
    (3) remove 3250 and unplug the USB cable
    (4) restart Windows
    (5) Reconnect USB cable - Windows will recognize the new hardware and set it up automatically. No need for drivers or CD, it keeps that information.
    (6) back to the printers & faxes to ensure that 3250 is display and make sure he again default printer.
    (7) test prints - OK - job done.
