  Try to install the software manually and check to see if that can help you:

  First, fix the permissions of the drive to avoid any possible problem:

  1. open the Applications folder.
  2. go to the Utilities folder.
  3. double-click on disk utility.
  4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
  5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
  Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The progress log shows when the process was completed.

  Now, download and install the package below, try chicken add the printer again:

• Impossible to copy and scan on all-in-one printer, HP Deskjet F4180.

  I can't make a copy and scan on the surface of the glass of my printer HP deskjet F4180 all-in-one. The printer says: error in the copy menu and seeing red flashes on color and black. However, I am able to print from my laptop and a pop-up message would be in my laptop showing the ink cartridges (black and color) are placed incorrectly.   I found this document which decodes what mean flashing lights.  There are a lot of different codes described, but I found a heading "question: one or two of the lights blink check print cartridge" which seems to be what's going on your printer.  Basically it's saying that the cartridges are out of alignment or defective.  If the document is not help clarify, let me know and I'll see what I can find.

• HP Deskjet F4180 print photos with a purple hue across

  Hi all, I was hoping that someone can help me. Our HP Deskjet F4180 is printing pictures with a purple tint (usually something in, like a coffee table or wood panelling, comes out magenta-y).

  I tried troubleshooting it myself and it seems there is no problem with the printer cartridge, or the program that I am printing.

  Here is what I tried:

  -current color cartridge replacement with a new one; problem persists

  -cleaning of the cartridge through the HP Solution Center (he asked me to clean, then intermediate clean, then first; tried all three, and the problem still persists)

  -print the photo of Microsoft Office Picture Manager and Microsoft Word

  -change the color balance (I value Magenta - 25; still did not help)

  This problem started after I printed 60 wine labels, which all had purple graphic and black text on them... but I think a lot of printing of purple would cause the printer having less purple coming out, no more...

  Any ideas what the problem may be? I have included a link below to the images show what that is the problem - the first image is how the picture should look like, the second is an analysis of the image printed super-purply (which, moreover, is printed on ordinary printer paper white old).

  I had the intention to get back to you with some comments - thanks for your help! I tried the last steps, you suggested, except to repair, which is what I wanted to avoid .

  I found a solution to the problem though - I completely uninstalled the printer from my computer, then insta. Ed again and it works perfectly! Don't know what the problem is, but reinstall all fixed.

• How to network a deskjet F4180

  I have a HP Deskjet all-in - One F4180, and I would like to connect it to my router for use on a PC network (a laptop and a desktop - both with wireless capabilities).  While the PC are not directly connected to the router, the printer could be if necessary.  However, I don't think that this printer is network ready (there are no Ethernet card or the printer port), and I do not know how to proceed.  Is a network required for the printer server, or is there a cable that can connect the printer directly to the router via the USB port.  Please excuse my ignorance: it's the first time I tried to set up a home network.  Thank you.

  Often these USB ports are supported USB hard drives, not printers.  Check the manual for your router, but I doubt that it is set up for printing.

  My F4180 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier works well except the scanner.  When I try to scan, I get the message that the scanner could not be initialized (scanner not found).  I installed the update of the driver, but it did not help.  Any suggestions?  It worked fine until I did the update of the system for Mac 10.6.8.  My computer is a MacBook.

  Due to a printer problem, I had to reinstall all my drivers and software and did that on the HP site. However when I went to analyze, the Solution Center always tells me that "the device is not full. I'm no expert, but I've tried everything I can think of. I ran the doctor printing and scanning, the installation wizard. The impression scanning doctor tells me that Device Manager.ok: check.ok Device, device status ok, BUT Solution Center X,

  HP printer test scan OK installation wizard.

  However, when I tried again to do a reinstall of the printer's drivers/software when he asks me to add a device and I try to connect to the printer it does not seem to acknowldge that the printer is here!

  Printer HP F410 now fully operational - it is clear that XP (SP 3) and this printer is not compatible - Windows 7 - no problem at all with this OS loading. No need to HP - Plug USB and Windows 7 software takes over.

  Under the Attention light black/photo flashes, an 'E' is informed by the start the copy.  I do not have a paper jam, I removed the ink cartridges and put them back int (they have ink). I closed the computer and the printer down commpletely and turned off the power play and leave it for several minutes before restarting.  I disconnected and reconnected the cables to the back of the computer.   Help!  I have a few contracts I need to scan it and send it off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
