DeskJet F4180 scanning recognized

My F4180 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier works well except the scanner.  When I try to scan, I get the message that the scanner could not be initialized (scanner not found).  I installed the update of the driver, but it did not help.  Any suggestions?  It worked fine until I did the update of the system for Mac 10.6.8.  My computer is a MacBook.

Hello there is wsml, welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience

I noticed your post on the error of scanning that you see as you went to 10.6.8. You may need to reinstall the complete driver.

Here is the link for you: HP DeskJet full feature software and drivers - Mac OS X v10.6

I hope that works, let me know the results!

Have a great Tuesday

  • Impossible to copy and scan on all-in-one printer, HP Deskjet F4180.

I can't make a copy and scan on the surface of the glass of my printer HP deskjet F4180 all-in-one. The printer says: error in the copy menu and seeing red flashes on color and black. However, I am able to print from my laptop and a pop-up message would be in my laptop showing the ink cartridges (black and color) are placed incorrectly. Check the ink cartridges, both are in their right place and broken up. Need help... Please.

I found this document which decodes what mean flashing lights.  There are a lot of different codes described, but I found a heading "question: one or two of the lights blink check print cartridge" which seems to be what's going on your printer.  Basically it's saying that the cartridges are out of alignment or defective.  If the document is not help clarify, let me know and I'll see what I can find.

  • HP Deskjet F4180 print photos with a purple hue across

Hi all, I was hoping that someone can help me. Our HP Deskjet F4180 is printing pictures with a purple tint (usually something in, like a coffee table or wood panelling, comes out magenta-y).

I tried troubleshooting it myself and it seems there is no problem with the printer cartridge, or the program that I am printing.

    Here is what I tried:

-current color cartridge replacement with a new one; problem persists

-cleaning of the cartridge through the HP Solution Center (he asked me to clean, then intermediate clean, then first; tried all three, and the problem still persists)

-print the photo of Microsoft Office Picture Manager and Microsoft Word

-change the color balance (I value Magenta - 25; still did not help)

This problem started after I printed 60 wine labels, which all had purple graphic and black text on them... but I think a lot of printing of purple would cause the printer having less purple coming out, no more...

Any ideas what the problem may be? I have included a link below to the images show what that is the problem - the first image is how the picture should look like, the second is an analysis of the image printed super-purply (which, moreover, is printed on ordinary printer paper white old).

    Hi Ciara B,

I had the intention to get back to you with some comments - thanks for your help! I tried the last steps, you suggested, except to repair, which is what I wanted to avoid .

I found a solution to the problem though - I completely uninstalled the printer from my computer, then insta. Ed again and it works perfectly! Don't know what the problem is, but reinstall all fixed.

    Thanks again!

  • install hp deskjet F4180

    I use Deskjet F4180 2 years with W7.

The week last W7 has been updated with heavy upgrades.

Since then the scanner HP F4180 did not work.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver (downloaded from the HP site), but I got the message "Cannot access the system registry key" - register HKEY_LOCAL MACHIN\SYSTEM

My system has now no printer and scanner and I do not know how to proceed.

    Hi marcosogliani,

Thank you for sending me the results in the product Monograph.

Sorry test registry and to rerun the installation as that administrator does not solve the problem.

The question is releated full administrator rights on the computer.

Create a new user account to see if that is causing the problem.

    Create a user account.

Then follow the steps described in this document.

Windows: A 'fatal error' Message is displayed on the computer to 96% of the Installation of the HP software.

Do not take into account the title.

Go to Solution 2: change the Hard Drive parameters of security, step two, three and four.

Try to run the installation again.

It's in an office or at home?

You have a COMPUTER service? (make them check the permissions on this computer)

    Thank you.

  • I can't install the driver for Deskjet F4180 with Yosemite

    Hello

I try to install my Deskjet F4180 on Yosemite following instructions in http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04488851 but when I plug in usb print queue is not created automatically and the printer software is not installed automatically.

Then I try clicking + option and I get the answer, you can see in the picture: there is no software available for this printer in Apple. Get in touch with the manufacturer of the printer...

If I drop the list next to the Option "use":

    Can you help me please?

    Thank you

    Ok

Try to install the software manually and check to see if that can help you:

First, fix the permissions of the drive to avoid any possible problem:

    1. open the Applications folder.
    2. go to the Utilities folder.
    3. double-click on disk utility.
4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
    5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The progress log shows when the process was completed.

Now, download and install the package below, try chicken add the printer again:

    Help, please

    Hey @KarenW7,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you have some problems with the implementation of your Deskjet F2480 10 Windows PC. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. If your printer is connected to your PC via a USB cable, remove it.
    2. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    3. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    4. Click on remove the instrument.
    5. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    6. Uninstall all software associated with the printer to your PC.
    7. Restart your PC.
    8. Download and install the latest drivers by clicking on this link.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you can print and scan, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

Your pritner do not offer a scan button, so scanning should be launched from the HP software.

  • OCR software for HP Deskjet 2050 scanning

    Hello to all community workers

I have a new HP Deskjet 2050. This is printer * beep * scan * beep * Copier. I would like to create soft copy of some books of text using the OCR software. OCR is optical character recognition software, which can convert the text from the image in real characters and export them to applications like MS Word. I used this a few years ago. Normally, it comes with the Scanner CD. But I could not find this software with the CD provided with this printer/scanner for me.

Can someone help me find this software compatible with my HP Deskjet 2050 printer/scanner.

    Thank you

    Billon

    Hello
The software provided for your device includes all the OCR features

You can use a solution of OCR 3rd party to analyze as editable text.

If you have Microsoft Office suite, there is a good chance of the suite to provide this type of functionality:

    Office 2007 or 2010:
