Desktop looks stretched horizontally

Original title: Office looks like

Hello

I have Lenovo Center B310 Office idea. I recently installed windows 7 (64-bit) Home Premium & replaced counterfeit windows 7 ultimate. The Office seems changed & not so nice. It looks stretched horizontally. The screenshot is attached. I tried all 3 resolutions but the result is not satisfactory. What action is needed to make the screen looks normal?

Have you installed the appropriate drivers for your model computer from Lenovo, especially the graphics card drivers?

  • Display became stretched horizontally-how do I 'normalise' it?

    Dell Vostro 1500, XP, SP3. I did something that caused the screen move on to stretched horizontally aspect and I am unable to find a way to return to normal. Hello

    Maybe it's that you have changed the screen resolution.

    • Click with the right button on a part empty your desktop, and then click Properties
    • Click on the settings tab
    • Move the resolution slider all the way to the right
    • It should choose the native resolution of your monitor
    • Click OK

    You tell us what you tried when you 'played', of course, you already tried this. If you do not want to suggest things that you've already tried it please let us know exactly what you have tried.

    Hi Donald,.

    You can try the following steps and check if it helps.

    a. right click on the taskbar and make sure it is not locked
    b it is locked, unlock it by selecting ' lock the taskbar"(it should be disabled).
    c.When it is unlocked, a click and everything always it just drag your mouse to the bottom of your screen

  • objects and text on the screen appear to be "stretched" horizontally.

    all objects and images on the screen seem to be "stretched" horizontally with all applications and web sites.  A good example is a picture of someone... the normal image is large and thin person... on my screen, they appear to be shorter and wider... lol

    find manual for my screen... it is AOC model 2219V1.  As I have explained, I tried to change the resolution.  When I change the resolution on my side of the computer, then my husbands is affected.   There is something that I realized that I can't re-create or find...  You have any other suggestions... Thanks for your help.   What would happen if I reload windows software... do you think all the settings back to the original settings?  If I reload windows, will I lose the documents and files on my computer?

    I do not see where you said you tried to change the resolution.  You have changed the DPI, but it's different than to change the resolution (although can be connected to ALSO change the resolution.)

    The resolution is not independent - that is when you change the resolution of the screen of the user, it is on this size for all users of the computer.  Your original problem was:

    all objects and images on the screen seem to be "stretched" horizontally with all applications and web sites.  A good example is a picture of someone... the normal image is large and thin person... on my screen, they appear to be shorter and wider... lol

    This means that you are using a large non-ecran on a screen resolution and screen is allowing it to fill the entire screen.

    You say you have the AOC 2219V1 monitor)<-- linked="" to="" there)="" and="" according="" to="" the="" specifications="" on="" that="" web="" page,="" the="" resolution="" you="" want="" to="" set="" the="" monitor="" at="" is:="" 1680="" x="" 1050="" @="">

    So, in your case, if you have the correct driver for your video card installed * and * says video card supports widescreen resolutions (what is a new monitor?) then you should...

    1.

    Open display in Control Panel.

    2.

    On the tab settings in the screen resolution, drag the slider to the right until it shows the parameters of selection to 1680 x 1050, and then click apply.

    3.

    When you are prompted to apply the settings, click OK. Your screen becomes black for a moment.

    4.

    Once your screen resolution changes, you have 15 seconds to confirm the change. Click Yes to confirm the change. Click No or do nothing to return to your previous configuration.

    Now - if you do not have the choice of 1680 x 1050, it is a new monitor and you have the latest driver for your video - card, then probably your video card was not made to support screen widescreen resolutions.

    Hello

    Horizontal control of your screen is turned off or you are using a screen on a standard monitor resolution.

    Using the controls of the monitor on the screen itself, try to reduce the horizontal display, so that it fits on the screen.

    If it's not her, then go to the settings/display/personalization in the control panel and adjust the slider to resolution one that best fits your screen.

    Graphics card will be limited to what the power supply can turn off, someone knows what it supports current graphics cards go.

    Thanks for any help on this.

    @Paul80, welcome to the forum.

    Here's memory and SSD who are recommended by Crucial memory.  They make great products for OEM computers.  You have to open the case and check of installed memory brand.  Then contact the Crucial Tech Support to see if their memory will be compatible.  The main problem with the addition of memory, it's buy the memory that is compatible with existing modules.

    The best way to install the SSD, it's letting the existing connected HARD disk as it came from the factory.  Connect the SSD drive to another SATA port on the motherboard.  Install the cloning software that you will use on the HARD drive.  Open and select the SSD as target disk.  Once the SSD is cloned, disconnect the HARD drive and start.  The start of shoul for the SSD system.

    As for a video, here is a card that has very good reviews.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  It should work well with your power supply unit (PSU).

    Change the screen resolution

    Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • BorderPane stretch horizontally

    Hello
    is it possible to set the part left and right of the BorderPane to grow horizontally?

    Consider the following example:
    public void start(Stage primaryStage) {
        BorderPane root = new BorderPane();

        Label l1 = new Label("A");
        l1.setStyle("-fx-background-color: yellow");
        Label l2 = new Label("B");
        l2.setStyle("-fx-background-color: green");

        root.setLeft(l1);
        root.setRight(l2);

        primaryStage.setScene(new Scene(root));
        primaryStage.show();
    }
    You can see a small yellow tag on the left and a little green on the right. I want to have the entire path left of my yellow window with 'A' in the middle and the right side all green with 'B' in the middle. Y at - it anyway how do? Basically, I want two columns and the reason why I haven't used GridPane, it is that GridPane is not to expand its content as far as I know.

    Thank you

    I imagine that the two controls will expand only when their content actually requires this expansion. If you'd like to do it without all sizes hard-coded, I would try to do with it GridPane and add a group or something around the label in order to provide the background color. Like this:

    package hs.javafx;

    import javafx.application.Application;
    import javafx.geometry.HPos;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.control.Label;
    import javafx.scene.layout.ColumnConstraints;
    import javafx.scene.layout.GridPane;
    import javafx.scene.layout.HBox;
    import javafx.stage.Stage;

    public class Snippet extends Application {

      public static void main(String[] args) {
        Application.launch(args);
      }

      @Override
      public void start(Stage primaryStage) {
          GridPane root = new GridPane();

          root.getColumnConstraints().add(new ColumnConstraints() {{
            setPercentWidth(50);
          }});
          root.getColumnConstraints().add(new ColumnConstraints() {{
            setPercentWidth(50);
          }});

          HBox h1 = new HBox();
          HBox h2 = new HBox();

          Label l1 = new Label("A");
          Label l2 = new Label("B");

          h1.getChildren().add(l1);
          h1.setStyle("-fx-background-color: yellow; -fx-alignment: center;");
          h2.getChildren().add(l2);
          h2.setStyle("-fx-background-color: green; -fx-alignment: center;");

          root.add(h1, 0, 0);
          root.add(h2, 1, 0);

          primaryStage.setScene(new Scene(root));
          primaryStage.show();

  • Stretched display of Dell Inspiron and ST2010

    Just bought a Dell Inspiron 3646.  With the help of my existing Dell ST2010 monitor.  When I go to the native resolution of 1600 x 900 images are all stretched horizontally.  I currently set at 1280 x 1024, so I can read it, but there it goes down and I lose 2 to 3 inches on each side.  But at least it's legible.

    I tried to adjust the adapter and the side of the monitor.

    Can I use this monitor mode full screen?  Previously, work very well with an older Dell desktop computer.

    Thank you

    Everything said is

    Intel HD graphics card

    But I had to work.  Switched to one HDMI cable and it seems to be the scale correctly now.  Must not like the VGA cable.

    Thank you

  • HDMI audio still works but only my TV displays the desktop instead of what's on my computer moniter.

    Hello

    Hope someone can help with this mystery.  I've been watching Netflix fine until yesterday, when all of a sudden the HDMI signal has stopped working.  I can put a movie and hear through television, but the TV shows a picture of my office, even if the Office does not appear on the computer, the film shows.  How is that even possible?  Tried turning off and unplugging everything.  With the help of windows 8 (and is it to be terribly frustrating)

    Hello Randy,

    Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you.

    I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    2. Did you try to connect to a different HDMI port and check if it works?

    According to the description of the signal problem HDMI has stopped working. You also mentioned that you can put a movie and hear through television, but the TV shows a picture of your desktop, even if the Office does not appear on the computer.

    HDMI cables are supported, but not all, audio signals compatible HDMI video audio support cards. If your TV has an audio input, you might be able to connect an audio cable separated from the sound card of your computer directly to the TV. Otherwise, you need to connect the different audio signal to an output device, such as external speakers or your stereo. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

    I suggest to disconnect the HDMI cable and try to connect it buy, follow these steps.

    a. turn off your computer and place it near your TV. Unplug the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

    b. connect the video cable from your computer's output to your TV.

    c. turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer. You may need to refer to the supplied with your television user's guide for instructions on how to do it.

    d. turn on your computer.

    e. you should see windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you will probably have to adjust the screen resolution in Windows.

    f. If Windows will appear on your TV, you will need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before connect you to your TV.

    To set screen resolution follow this procedure:

    a. right click on the screen, and then select the Screen Resolution.

    b. check if the resolution is set to 1024 x 768.

    c. If this isn't the case, then set it to 1024 x 768.

    If the problem persists, go to method 2.

    Method 2

    According to your description, it seems the question could be linked to the display drivers and try again the steps to uninstall graphics card in Device Manager, uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs, and then download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

    Step 1:

    Uninstall the device from Device Manager

    • Open the Device Manager
    • Expand the section of the graphics card .
    • Find the Display card Driver.
    • Graphics Driver right click and choose Uninstall.
    • Select the check box delete the driver for this device.
    • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

    Step 2:

    Uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs in the control panel

    • Click Start, select Control Panel
    • Now, click on programs and select programs and features.
    • Find the Display card Driver.
    • Display driver card click right and select Uninstall.
    • Restart the computer once the uninstallation is completed

    Step 3:

    Download and install the latest drivers for the graphics card on the manufacturer's Web site

    For more details you can see the wire supplied below which deals with the very issue that you are facing.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-hardware/HDMI-stopped-working-after-upgrade-to-Windows-8/18c12271-6f21-4345-9A5F-abe0ffc9ee06

    Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
