  The best way to add the WIFI would use a USB WIFI adapter.  There are many choices and prices will vary.

  Linksys, Trendnet and Netgear would be a good choice. Looking for a model with WPS (WIFI Protected Setup) that will allow other devices such as printers wireless with WPS to connect more easily.

  I do landscaping landscaping and write a lot of citations per day in the spring.  I was wondering if it is possible and I have my doubts, but who knows, is it possible to print on a printer... no idea that co could do everything, one uses a cord of ipad to a printer, or Bluetooth.

  I know it would be a good thing, but without a desktop wifi printer, connected to a wifi home network I don't know if it is still possible.

  It's just that my writing is horrible and it would make the quotation look much more professional if I could distribute them printed right here on-site.

  Hello. I just bought my desktop computer November 28, 2012, so his 4 months of my date. My computer is a HP Pavilion p7-1449. The only problem ive a is when I tried to put my Mcafee on my Pc... I deleted my Norten because my trial had taken end. I was remove some other junk too so I saw something called a wifi adapter in the menu too. So I deleted it too. It was before my network cut on me. Suddenly, my network then erased, but the rest of my House still works as my laptop, Ipod and Xbox 360 so this isn't my wifi which is to do.

  I tried everything I could think of as unplug my router for a minute, I rebooted my computer and my reinstal drivers tryied. If something can you please fold back

  Looking at the HP Slimline 450 - a120 Desktop PC product specifications, the wireless connection is provided by the PCI express mini half-length card below.

  

  With the power off and unplugged unit, you could try to remove and then insert the card again once, to see if that helps.

  Currently, I have 2 all in printers connected to my wifi.  Is it possible to open a document on the desktop on my iMac and fax using the built in fax modem or another of my all in printers?

  If the producer of the printer is a driver for OS X that allows faxing then I don't see why not

• HP Pavilion a6767c desktop computer: WIFI HP Pavilion replacement card

  I have a 2009 HP Pavilion a6767c desktop PC (model name: FQ587AAR), in Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is that my WIFI signal is weak to 1 or 2 bars on a "good" day. Sometimes, I don't have any signal. Everything on my desk works very well. For comparison, I also have a HP Pavilion dv6t - 6 c 00 CTO Entertainment Notebook which is furthest from the ATT wifi router modem than the office. With the laptop, I still have 4, for the most part 5 bars. My smart phone Samsung S4 also has good Wi - Fi signal in the House. The problem seems to be with the Wi - Fi Office. My device manager says I have an adapter 802. 11 b/g.

  Is simply a new card internal Wi - Fi? If yes what is recommended for my office to the brand and I should get? And it of just a matter of unplugging the Tower, grounded by static electricity, opens the box and try swapping in the slot?

• Pavilion p6610f Desktop: software blocking Wifi transmission

  Pavilion p6610f Desktop 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium SP1.  I had problems with the buffering and freezing in my browsing on the internet. I contacted my Internet provider after doing all the clean to the top of my computer that I knew how to do. After an hour or two with the agent to remote access to my computer and them telling me that everything was going well at their end, I asked why the icon Wifi in my taskbar shows only two bars on a possible 5 when my computer is right next to my Wifi modem? I was told it was probably a software interfering with the Wifi transmission.  I ran Microsoft malware and adware programs removal & Ms. Mr. Fixit.  I have MS Security Essentials and have not all problem reports.  My provider Internet telling me the truth?  Is the lack of Wifi reception with software that I can't find? I looked in my programs & features and does not see all unauthorized programs may have snuck in and I deleted some. The only thing that is new is a HP Envy 5660 all-in-one that is set up wireless.  It has been suggested that I have reformat my hard drive and reinstall the essential programs to see if that helps. But, acckkKKK!  I don't want to go through all that again! I did twice before and have installed two others had readers since I've owned this computer and don't want to if not necessary!  I thank in advance for your time and your knowledge if you decide to advise me.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are getting a signal strength wireless low, despite the close proximity. I'm happy to help you with this.

  In some respects, being too close could be part of the problem. Because of the arrangement of the devices, it could be that the receiver on your desktop does not receive a clear signal, due to the metal in its framework. I suggest moving the router wireless in the location and see if you can get a better signal. This page has also some other useful information which may affect the strength of the signal.

  If that does not help or make a difference, then you can try looking at your system itself. Start with the next page, and if there is no improvement, wok your way through the other sections, I have included, until it is resolved.

  Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access (Windows 7)

  Focus on the management of feeding your wireless adapter:
  Turn off the power to the adapter:
  1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
  2. expand the network adapters.
  3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
  4. click on the power management tab.
  5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  6. click on OK.
  7 test cycle.

  Forget the network: (Windows 7)
  1. press start.
  2. tap manage wireless networks, click on the application at the top of the start menu.
  3. right click on the network, and then click on remove network.
  4 confirm the warning by clicking OK.

  Reset TCP/IP on your PC:
  1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
  2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
  3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
  4 restart your PC and test.

  It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
  1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
  2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
  3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
  4 restart your PC and test.

  Reinstall the NIC drivers:
  1. download the drivers from here, but do not run them again.
  2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
  3. expand network adapters.
  4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
  5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
  6. restart your PC and test.

  Method 1: I suggest you temporarily disable the antivirus software or firewall and check if it helps:

  Disable the anti-virus software

  Warning: turn off Windows Firewall/antivirus can make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

  Method 2: reset the default router and check if this solves the problem:

  Next to the electric power plug, there is a pinhole reset button. Remove all the cables from your router except the power cord. Press reset button with a PIN for 10 seconds. Wait 10 seconds then unplug the router. Router will be at default values, reinstall using the software that came with the router. You may need to reinstall the software of NIC as well. Then write your password on a piece of tape and stick it to your router.

  1. don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?

  Follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

  Step 1:
  Update of your wireless cards and see if the problem still occurs.

  Step 2:

  a. Click Start, type device manager in the search box of start and press ENTER.
  b. Locate the network adapters and expand the same.

  What is a desktop to a laptop computer?

  If this is a desktop computer, it is unlikely ever, there was a wireless installation installed in it.  That being the case, you will need to go into a computer store and buy either a Commission of add-in or a USB wireless device.
